One Step

Anyone can receive everlasting life from one step of faith the moment they believe Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God. This experience launches the believer into the assurance of an irreversible personal relationship with the Messiah (who died on the cross as payment for sin overcoming death by resurrection). Eternal security aligns with divine election by a sovereign God.

This book compiles verses from THE GRACE NEW TESTAMENT on salvation. This is the ONE STEP Great News Gospel that unites Christendom. Chapters include passages from New Testament authors that usually add immediate context to understand the key verse rather merely provide a single verse. If you reject the New Testament as the underlying authority for Christendom, then this book will waste your time.

Obviously, this subject is the ultimate issue in teachings of Jesus Christ, and the Apostles who wrote the New Testament. You go to heaven or the lake of fire for eternity. Decide the means of salvation for yourself, family and friends directly from biblical text. What was the Great News? If a person can be saved; how? The New Testament was written centuries earlier than organized Christian religion. Believe there is ONE STEP, or not. Do you? JOHN 1:12

1:12 But to all who accepted Him, to them He gave the ABSOLUTE UNCONDITIONAL right to become GOD’S children; to those who BELIEVE in His Name.

Entry into a new FAMILY RELATIONSHIP as children of God is a gifted right for ALL BELIEVERS in HE who is named JESUS CHRIST.

JOHN 3:14-16

3:14 Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness and BELIEVED in a single saving ETERNAL glance, so must the SON OF MAN be lifted up once, 3:15 that whoever BELIEVES in Him in a single passing moment, should not perish, but have ETERNAL LIFE. 3:16 For GOD so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him should not perish, but have ETERNAL LIFE.

3:18 He who BELIEVES in Him is not judged. He who doesn’t BELIEVE has been judged already, because He has not BELIEVED in the Name of the one and only SON of GOD.

5:38 You don’t have His message living in you; because you don’t BELIEVE Him whom He sent. 5:39 You search the SCRIPTURES, because you think that in reading them you have ETERNAL LIFE; and these words do testify about Me. 5:40 Yet you will not come to Me, personally, and believe, that you may have life.

Take ONE STEP of PERSONAL BELIEF for ETERNAL LIFE. But the act of reading scripture, like other liturgical acts, or any other step one might try, does not lead to eternal life according to the words of JESUS.

JOHN 6:28,29

6:28 They said, therefore, to Him, What must we do, that we may accomplish the works of GOD? 6:29 JESUS answered them, This is the only act leading to ETERNAL LIFE, that you BELIEVE in Him whom He has sent.

ONE STEP is the only way to eternal life according to JESUS.

6:35 JESUS said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me will never be hungry, and He who BELIEVES in Me will never be THIRSTY. 6:36 But I told you that you have seen Me, and yet you still don’t BELIEVE. 6:37 All those who the FATHER gives Me will come to Me. Him who comes to Me I will in no way throw out. 6:38 For I have come down from HEAVEN, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 6:39 This is the will of My FATHER who sent Me, that of all He has given to Me I should lose nothing, but should raise Him up at the last day. 6:40 This is the will of the one who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son, and BELIEVES in Him, should have ETERNAL LIFE; and I will raise Him up at the last day."

Come to Jesus and BELIEVE IN HIM for eternal RELATIONSHIP with God the Father and God the Son.

JOHN 6:66-69

6:66 At this, many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him. 6:67 So JESUS said to the twelve, You don’t also want to go away, do you? 6:68 Simon Peter answered Him, "LORD, to whom would we go? You have the words of ETERNAL LIFE. 6:69 We have come to BELIEVE, and know that you are the CHRIST, the Son of the living GOD."

Apostles BELIEVED He is THE CHRIST in whom they have eternal life with the personal God: a RELATIONSHIP.

8:19 They said to Him, Where is your FATHER? JESUS answered, "You know neither Me, nor My FATHER. If you knew Me, you would know My FATHER also."

KNOWING JESUS IS THE CHRIST begins a new RELATIONSHIP. The person now knows God: Father of Jesus.

However, He who sent Me is true; and the things which I heard from Him, these I say to the world. 8:27 They didn’t understand that He spoke to them about the FATHER. 

8:28 JESUS said to them, "When you have lifted up the SON OF MAN, then you will know that I AM HE, and I do nothing of myself, but as My FATHER taught Me, I say these things. 8:29 He who sent Me is with Me. The FATHER hasn’t left Me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him." 8:30 As He spoke these things, many BELIEVED in Him.

8:31 JESUS said to those Jews who had BELIEVED Him, "If you remain steadfast in My WORD, then you show yourselves to others as truly My disciples. 8:32 You will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH will make you ABSOLUTELY and completely FREE."

One who BELIEVES IN HIM is ‘Jesus Rich’: free in new disciple RELATIONSHIP to attempt obedience to the Word and continuity of faith.

8:51 Most certainly, I tell you, if a person keeps My WORD by BELIEVING in Me, he will never see death.
