To see good in the world is to be awaken unto the Lord

    Authors Statement

I am moved to express my thoughts about my writings and the book reviews done on them. First, I type with one finger so I may have typing errors. Second, a poor author can’t always afford to have professional editors review his work. Yet I am compelled to continue to do my work in the Lords ministry, in spite of these draw back. I make mistakes because I am human.

When I get a bad book review from a professor from a distinguish university, I don’t know if their opinions or criticism are correct in their statement about me or if my simple writings was too simple for them to understand, because, as Paul writes they had not a readiness of mind (Acts 17:11).

Why then did I get a poor review? Maybe because there was some truth in my writing that offended the reviewer or maybe they couldn’t figure out what it was I was trying to teach. Whatever the reason, I believe each reader should decide for themselves if my book is good or bad and not rely on the thoughts of others to make up the minds of the public for them.

I have offended read the reviews of the latest Movies out at the local theaters, and even when the review was bad I went to see the movie anyway and liked it. The person who does the reviewing does not have my interest or taste in movies, likes or dislikes, nor those he or she understand things as I do. I never allow the reviews of others to make up my mind for me. I hope you feel the same way, thank you.

    Preface

All my life when I was in great trouble, I always sensed the ever protecting hand of God. I have always sensed that I was born for a purpose, but never understood what that purpose was. Since I was a child I have always loved the Lord our God. I am not perfect by nature, and at various time in my life I have fallen into sin. Yet, I know that God had forgiven me because I am human and of my weakness. I believe my love for him, my effort in trying to be an obedient child of God, and my acceptance of His Son Jesus as my Savior over shadow my sins for His blood cleanses me.

At my birth I was taught the German language, and in kindergarten I had to learn English. I am poor in my English and have problems with my phonics, and the spelling of my words often need correcting, yet I don’t let this stop me from doing what I am called by God to do. This is why I am so thankful to my friends and other who edit my writings and make all things right. Yet, I do not allow this handicap of mine to prevent me from sharing the knowledge I hold in me on Biblical studies. I pray always that whatever I write may become a blessing for all.

This book is titled A Biblical Study into the Pentateuch. An in depth study of the five books of Moses, which God dictated and Moses wrote down His Divine Words. This makes each word of the Pentateuch holy unto the Lord our God, and put down on paper for specific reasons. Study well from this book and learn all you can from the writings of the Pentateuch.

    Chapter One

    The Pentateuch

The word Pentateuch is a Greek word, which means Five Scrolls.  It is associated with the understanding that when we talk about the Pentateuch we are talking about the first five books of the Bible. Also called the five books of Moses, or from a Jewish tradition it is better known as The Torah or "Chumash," So when you’re Jewish friends talk about the Torah, you now understand what they are talking about. If you add the writings of the Prophets and of the Psalms to the Torah, this is known as the Tanach or better understood by Christian as the Old Testament.

The Pentateuch is the five books of the law. You may be asking yourself, what law? The divine laws of God, which I believe was given to the human race, I mean, all of mankind and not just to the Jewish people. Yes, it was first given to the Jewish nation in ancient time because God chose them to become the guardian and protector of the law. However, they were to share God’s divine law with all people of the earth, and not keep it only among themselves.

The Pentateuch holds within its writings the account of Creation, the stories of the early Biblical Patriarch, and of God’s divine laws. There are 316 inspired divine laws (mitzvos) and precepts found the Jewish Torah, most Christian only knows of ten. The Christian community only teaches and accepts the Ten Commandment found in Exodus 20, and the laws of unlawful sexual practices and relations found in Leviticus 18. Some Christian churches do practice the Dietary and health laws of the Pentateuch.

In our world today you will find some Christian churches teaching that the Jewish laws in the Pentateuch are only for the Jews and not binding upon the Christian Church. Yet other Christian churches teach that the coming of the Messiah (Jesus), that Jesus did away with most of the Jewish traditions and laws, and that we are not required obey them. In my professional opinion, we are required to obey all of God’s law, but are not bound to obey or practice any of the traditional Feast or Holy day, which the Jewish people do. The only laws that Jesus abolished or done away with are the animal sacrifice laws for the forgiveness of sins. Because Jesus, being the Son of God, was called the Lamb of God, it was His death which became the ultimate and divine sacrifice for the forgiveness of sins.

If our farmers would practice God’s agriculture laws found in the Pentateuch, they would have better crops, and less farming problems. If we were to all practice God’s dietary and health laws in the Pentateuch, we would all be living healthier lives. If we would practice God’s teachings on unlawful sex laws found in the Pentateuch, we would not be a race of spiritually sick people. If we were to only and truly practice God’s Ten Commandments found in the Pentateuch, we would greatly increase the quality of life all around in our society.

There is much we can learn from the Pentateuch if we would only take the time to study it. This is what this book is all about, the study of the Torah, the writings, stores, events and laws found in the Pentateuch.

    Jewish Tradition

The word Torah comes from the Hebrew, which means Law or Doctrine. It is written on a long roll of parchment paper in the form of a scroll, from which the people of the Jewish faith will read from in the synagogue on the Sabbath day. The Torah has become the cornerstone of the Jewish religion. This scroll is considered very holy because it contains the living word of God and is highly beloved among all Jewish people. This scroll of the Torah is protected with a covering made from a rich fabric and decorated with silver ornaments.

To express to you how important the Torah is to the Jewish people, on a special holiday known as the Simhath Torah which comes from the Hebrew translated means Rejoicing in the Law. On this special holiday the people will celebrate with singing, dancing and marching, in honor of the Torah. Please understand that the Jewish Torah is the same Christian Pentateuch. They are both the one and the same collections of five books.
