    Before you begin this journey...

    ––––––––

You are entering a universe encompassing the Earth we live in, plus a parallel world, fantastic and completely new, created by the combination of my insane creativity and everything I lived during my many travels during my, nearly, fifty-year-long life.

When the books were published, my two girls were still young, and we had fun discovering fantasy, heroes and other dwellings. In face of new realities on the screen, books, and comic books, I always defended and taught my daughters: we need to be patient, first give time to understand the world and then we have fun with it.

The stories within The Fairy and the Wizard occur in a time continuum well after the dawn of everything in our world, a story that you will read in the book Enchanted Origins, where the main characters emerge, giving meaning to their legacy and the sacrifices made in the name of Ivi.

By staying with us you will learn: The Chronicles of Ivi are far beyond what is between Aiden and Ava. Each book will feature the adventures of a new magical creature, and the reason for everything is connected to a passion, or a love.

By all means, I am grateful to you that will read it again, to those who are here for the first time and to you that will remain here until the conclusion. I remind you about the sequence of the books: for a long time you waited for The Prince and the Mermaid as the continuation to The Fairy and the Wizard, but there is a small book in between that is the bridge between these two stories, called The Troller Legacy.

Besides that, if you are a fan of the Universe and want to learn about its beginnings in Enchanted Origins, only do so after the third book. Also, if you want to learn more about Ivi, there is a lot of information available in the author's website: www.franciscomedina.com.br, and you may check that any time. In fact, the information there is part of what we call the Expanded Universe.

Be so very welcome to Ivi. We were waiting for you!

    Kablum

    Enchanted Forest

    ––––––––

Aiden wasn't just any enchanted creature. Born discredited, but despite the obstacles, he was destined to live an extraordinary journey. With many doubts and frustrated with the teachings of Kablum, the school of Genesis, he was looking for explanations to the mysteries surrounding Ivi, the enchanted planet where he was conceived.

On the way to school, he found Eloah standing in the middle of the road, arms crossed and firm gaze. She was waiting for him.

Since Aiden's first classes in Kablum, Eloah was the first girl to call his attention. Soon after they were friends, and started exchanging confidences. Until one day, when he foresaw her true energy.

Though an earlier companion, Eloah was now avoided. But nothing would stop her from attracting the attention of the boy wizard who behaved so differently from all the others. After all, Aiden from the height of his eight years of age, didn't like, didn't kiss, nor got together with anyone.

Hello, Aiden, she greeted. Noticing how long he was taking to react, she continued, When are we going to venture ourselves and find Paradisus' exact location?

He smiled with regret for ever telling her about his desire of finding Paradisus, a place thought to be a legend in Ivi.

I was kidding, Eloah. I find it very hard that someone may find this location.

Ivi is full of mysteries. There had been some time since she got interested in the boy with curly blond hair, and eyes that shone brighter every passing day. We could look for other places. And, you know what? I would love to get lost with you...

Maybe soon, Eloah, who knows... He pointed towards the school. Now, we should go. See there, they are calling us.

Inside the hut used as a classroom, Aiden noticed the presence of a tall stout man, sleek shoulder-length hair, and a well-trimmed beard. It was Lor, the guest teacher for today's lesson, who started talking.

Today we are going to understand the importance of Kablum’s existence. I believe that everyone here knows how Ivi, of the multiple paradises, became a planet riddled with castles.

He continued, reminding them that for a long time the fairies, the most perfect beings created in Ivi, lived in the Enchanted Forest, without the need for a political structure or a rigid social organization.

However, due to recent changes, — making reference to the fact that castles proliferated, not only on account of the devastation of green areas, — there is a need for a change of plans, and we have to prepare for the worst. Soon there will be a confrontation between the Forest and the Kings and their armies. Through Kablum, we should prepare for a long fight and, unfortunately, an uncertain future.

Lor continued the explanation regarding the past of the planet, throughout several eras, when many enchanted creatures left the Enchanted Forest towards the Kingdom of ErasBlack, when they created the new Order of Witches, which in turn created the city of Genesis, even accepting the migration of common folk to what now is the Dark Woodlands.

In the aftermath, it was a consensus among members of the new Order that teachings of the original fairies should be immortalized by means of a school. Therefore, Kablum was created.

And here we are, my dearests. He took a deep breath. Yes... we are amidst a great turmoil. For up to this moment, we all accepted that only girls were blessed with Soufix capable of making them special. However, thanks to the efforts conducted by me and Master Devor, we came to the conclusion that some boys are also capable of developing it. A buzzing started around the class, and he raised his hand asking for silence. And that is why, this is a mixed class!

During break, along with a group of boys, Jirah was trying to transit, a basic technique that allows you to travel in space-time. Dominating transition of points was vital for the development of an enchanted creature. It was hilarious, because after taking a deep breath, Jirah would jump high from a rock. But nothing would happen. And without transiting, he would crash to the floor.

Stop that, Jirah! Budhara said, laughing. The chubby boy with curly hair was watching Jirah, who unlike him, had a slender body and straight hair falling over the forehead. I can't stop laughing at you.

Meanwhile, Jokas, a tall black boy, and the most responsible one in the group, observed. He got worried as his friend Aiden went in alone to an area where the woods started getting thicker. The yell of pain from Jokas falling again, followed by the sound of a feminine laughter, called his attention.

You boys are all so silly, said Eloah in an aggressive tone. "All these boring classes mean nothing, telling us of magical equality. You will never be like the witches from Genesis, much less like the fairies of ErasBlack. It doesn't matter, Ivi does not like men! Even less wimps and fools like the lot of you.

Hey! said Jokas. Who called you here?

Eloah was rebellious and hard to get along with, part of it was her difficulty in learning the new flight techniques. She was thin, with a pointed nose and dark long hair. She did not accept the innovations in Kablum, where the boys were free to learn everything, contrary to the House of Fairies.

There is no way to resist and not to laugh at this circus, she continued, as other girls gathered around them. And it is not only me. Look at this crowd!

Jirah was still lying on the floor. Budhara promptly extended a hand to his friend, lifting him up.

Look who's talking, retorted Jirah, now standing "the weakest of all the Cidroens in Kablum, you can barely transit as the others. You should be training more, instead of being here criticizing what we can or not do."

How dare you?! Eloah's hand rested on her wand. Who are you to say such a thing?!

How dare I what, Eloah? Replied Jokas, positioning his body in front of his two friends. Go care for your own business!

Eloah's eyes flashed with fury. Budhara, the quietest, threw the last punch.

"That is true. You have more important things to care about. Remember: if you don't learn how to transit, you will not be a Cidroen any longer, you will have to abandon Kablum and become a common one. And no one will ever want to date you! Besides being ugly and annoying, people will know you as a failed witch's apprentice."

The crowd of children was growing. Eloah lost control and withdrew the wand from her waist, pointing it at Budhara.

Jirah, still standing behind Jokas, didn't believe she would have the courage, because if she attacked them, she would break the rules, and be expelled from Kablum. With a heavy heart, and predicting the worst, Jirah put himself in front of his friend.

Eloah seemed to reconsider the attack. To ease the chaos, both friends turned their backs to her. Without thinking a third time, Eloah cast a lightning bolt with her wand, hitting Budhara on his back.

Jirah, emotional for his fallen friend, turned around and was also struck by green lightning bolts on his chest.

You're insane! He screamed, protecting his face.

And now? screamed Eloah. Do you still believe that I am not a real witch?

She kept on casting, and in desperation, Jokas sprang into action, using his more developed body to protect his friends.

You are also going to have yours, and learn that I am not ugly nor annoying!

Lightning bolts struck Jokas, who felt his body burning. The attack kept intensifying. The bolts of green coloration had the intention of scaring them. But, enraged, Eloah had lost control. The end of the wand became red, showing that the energy concentrated would turn the attack into something different — if more intensity were to be applied, the energy of the wand could kill someone.

Completely out of herself, she shook her hand; but something was wrong, the new bolts were not coming out. Eloah felt her body paralyzed; she was petrified as a statue. Without being able to look to her side, she did not see Aiden coming out of the woods. To everyone's surprise, the wizard approached the immobilized girl. Standing in front of her, frowning, he spoke softly, so that only she could listen.

I will never understand why you are like this. He said, as he pulled the wand from her hand. Of why you are becoming... this! The girl's eyes seemed to answer something, but Aiden finished. We have to stop you at once... before you hurt someone.

Without showing anger, Aiden broke Eloah's wand, and threw away the pieces of wood. Turning around, he walked away.

When passing through the circle of people that had gathered, Aiden bumped into Devor, Kablum's Headmaster, who noticed his discreet hand movement, lifting the spell that Eloah was under.

The following day, Lor and Trullis were heading to a meeting in the office of Headmaster Devor.

Trullis was an elderly common man, no powers, but truly wise. He had been chosen to govern the city of Genesis with a determination unsurpassed in any of the neighboring kingdoms. He had straight white hair, a dense beard and black eyes. Lor, in turn, was also not a Wizard, for his Soufix didn't reach the level of one.

Arriving at Devor's door, they were greeted by Eloah's crying. That was expected, the girl had been punished. Both of them waited while the Headmaster finished his reprimand of the former Cidroen.

As I said, Eloah, reminded Devor, you know the rules very well, and you are now being spelled from Kablum for attacking not one, but three of your classmates. I wish you all the luck with your new life in Ivi as a common. I also remind you: You are not being spelled from the Enchanted Forest, but only being thrown out from Kablum.

The girl dashed away from there, without excusing herself to the professors standing in the doorway. When she pushed Lor, he could feel the strength of her anger.

As the girl faded in the horizon, the two men entered the room for the meeting.

So, Devor, Lor asked excitedly, how are our children?

I did not expect us to be doing so well. Answered Devor. "At this rate, our future is assured. There are several girls with special Soufix.

    What about the boys?

Well... the boys are still far between, as we all know, Lor.

Devor had underestimated the first children brought from the fields to the school, but after the last evaluations, he had reached one conclusion: Kablum, reproached by him before, still could prove itself to be a great surprise.

Devor! Lor called for his attention. It is of utter importance that we develop our boys. The enchanted equilibrium of Ivi rests upon the seeds of Miravix, which, I am certain, were not completely destroyed so easily. I believe that, imbued by self-preservation instinct, they may be preparing to return through the impregnation of women in the fields. Thus, their children may be within the children of Kablum.

Devor didn't seem willing to discuss the Miravix once again.

Anything else, Devor? Asked Trulis. Are we done with this matter?

Did you not hear about yesterday? Clashes are occurring; due to the ancient status acquired by the fairies, the Cidroens are not accepting males using powers previously reserved to women. And they cannot comprehend that Ivi does not choose gender, it chooses beings.

Talking about yesterday, did you understand how Aiden managed that? Trulis was curious ever since. I am not referring to him breaking the wand of a Cidroen... but we all noticed that Aiden performed binding incantations using only his hands.

Where and with whom is he learning these tricks?

They are not tricks, Lor, he used his hands! Devor was emphatic, because he knew that using hands to perform enchantments was a particularity of beings of the Second Degree. "Anyway, I am convinced. Aiden is what we were waiting for so long: A Wizard capable of reaching the Seventh Degree of Evolution!

    The Discovery

    Kingdom of ErasBlack

    ––––––––

While Aiden resisted attending classes in Kablum, on the other side, in ErasBlack, Princess Ava had just completed nine years of age. The court, at that moment, was taken over by excitement. All thanks to children from the cities of Grokos and Lufar, invited to spend the day at the castle and make Ava's day more pleasant.

On these occasions, the children would run through the halls screaming, which before was forbidden even to the noblest of infants. With time, the noise became deafening.

The stewards demanded then, that the gardens, instead of the noble halls, ought to be used for the games. This way, the interior of the castle would only be taken over by the racket on rainy days.

Adamastor, king of ErasBlack, after getting rid of a meeting in which the old fairy Rufara was also present, was watching, through a window in his tower, the games that Ava was playing with the other children in the garden.

As much as his father, he felt uncomfortable living close to the Enchanted Forest, ancestral home of the original fairies, now known as the dreadful Dark Woodlands.

For a long time, I was thought insane like my father.

Even though he was speaking softly, he called the attention of his advisor Turbilhos, who approached. Turbilhos didn't notice that the king was following the adventures of Ada and the other girls.

Certainly, my king, agreed Turbilhos. "Many ignored the prophecies of King Kimius, but they may be coming to pass. As far as you told us sire, the late King had signaled in his diaries that only a Fairy Queen would one day be able to unify the powers.

The prophecy clearly said: 'That the unification would not happen only between the Enchanted Forest and ErasBlack, but would also unite the North and the South of Ivi definitely.' "

We already have the Princess, my liege, said Turbilhos, now next to the king, looking through the window. However, she would have to be proved enchanted."

That same morning, while she was listening to the children in the gardens, Rufara, the old fairy, didn't partake in the conversations in the tea room after the meeting ended. In magical fashion, she transited between points and escaped from everything, except from queen Midri. In the gardens, lost between the children's games around the lakes and fountains, she was startled by the joyous scream of the Lady of ErasBlack

Rufara!!! The queen gave the impression of not seeing her in years. Didn't you feel me approaching?

Rufara was the eldest fairy among the masters. She was clad all in black. She had gray hair and blue eyes that seemed like glass. A constant presence in the meetings of the realm due to her ability of remembering to perfection the discussions of interest to the House of Fairies.

I really didn't, Midri, the old fairy retorted. I don't know if you are aware, but we are not in a state of alert at all times. Sometimes I like the freedom of surprises. Besides, I am tired after participating in another meeting in the court. I don't understand why the House of Fairies needs to get involved in these matters.

Saying that, she kept on walking, but something was bothering her. She could feel a formidable force sharing that same place. Looking around she could only see children playing in the gardens. She believed that all the raucous was making it hard for her to detect the source of such energy. However, there was nothing to worry about, seeing that the energy was good. But how strong it was!

To what do I owe the pleasure of the Queen's company? asked Rufara, turning her interest back to the other woman.

The Queen started talking about the future ceremony of Queruga, the final test to all Cidroens, but Rufara was again distracted, absorbed by the comings and goings of the girls.

Among them, Princess Ava, seemingly leading the activities. Noticing the interest of the fairy for the children, the queen started talking about the games.

Ava herself created them. Then, the queen turned to one of her ladies in waiting. Estela, as always, I have a hard time with the games, could you explain it better?

It’s very simple. Estela smiled. It is a distinctive game of tag. First, two teams are created, and in turns one team has the opportunity to chase the members of the other team. When an opposing player is touched, she becomes part of the team that caught her. With that, the team that is chasing tends to become stronger.

Is that why they run so much? asked the fairy.

No! denied Estela. They run so much because, in a more critical moment, all of them try to catch the last girl standing, and almost always the last one is the princess. No one can get her.

Ava is very clever! added the queen.

Too clever for a Cidroen, Rufara spoke softly to herself, observing some of the movements, which were uncommon even to a fairy.

Despite the importance of Rufara to the council, King Adamastor and Lopínia, the Grand Fairy of the House of Fairies, managed to hide from her the enchanted birth of Ava, when the Princess floated in the arms of the king for the first time. That was a clear sign that Ivi had blessed the girl to the extreme with the Soufix of a Vlasdismin.

They say Ava does impossible things, commented Estela.

What kind of things? a spark of curiosity rising in the old fairy.

When they told me, I couldn't believe it. My lady should know, they are children. Thus, to learn, I decided to play with the girls once or twice. And I found out that the game only ends when Ava decides so.

Children usually have great disposition, and the princess seems to be extremely active, affirmed Rufara.

The elder started walking slowly, gaining time to, through observation, be able to decipher the game.

Are you seeing that now? Estela was pointing in the distance. Ava is alone running from all of them.

Rufara changed subjects, addressing the queen.

We are so happy for all of you. The kingdom seems to have been in a party state since the birth of Ava.

Yes, replied the queen without any enthusiasm.

You did not convince me with that 'yes'. I have great hope that she will someday be of great value to the kingdom.

Rufara, with one eye on the path and another on the game, saw from the corner of her eyes something inexplicable. Meanwhile, the queen answered, giving reason to her lack of enthusiasm.

We don't know if she will be able to take on so many responsibilities in the future. For me, Ava cares too much about having fun. Adamastor says that we can recognize leaders early on. We can't see Ava as a leader.

How can a girl be asked to take extreme interest in the realm? Rufara was once again waiting for the unprecedented movements by the princess. Ava is right in wanting to play at her age.

Calling the attention of the other two to the game, Rufara got some time to concentrate and analyze the movements of the blond princess. And the so-called impossible happened once again. Rufara saw Ava run on the water of the lake.

The queen wished to keep talking, but Rufara could only observe the girl. To hide from the friends who were cornering her, Ava traversed some bushes in the garden seemingly making use of a transition of points.

Excuse me! said the fairy to the queen.

Rufara entered the gardens, invading the game. Listening to the noise at the lake, the girls yelling while chasing the princess, she sensed Ava's tranquility even while she was cornered. She took some steps into the tall greenery and observed astonished as the girl walked on the lake once again. Also, to her surprise, Ava went through two or three hedges disregarding their existence.

Foreseeing the sequence of actions, Rufara was quick and put
