About this ebook
Destiny stares at you in dreams then stalks you in waking nightmares…
Two thirteen-year-old Irish girls stumble upon a magical book hidden within standing stones at a long forgotten portal. Believing local mythology is merely an interesting tale about immortal killers, vengeful gods, and age-old battles, Morgan and Brianna take the stories lightly...until the book mentions their ancestors.
A deadly rift once split the fae and mortal realms as the result of a forbidden love between the fae and druids. The Gemini, their descendants, chosen caretakers of the elemental stones, are challenged to protect the elements. Evil forces use black magic to release the daemon from the Underworld vowing to destroy all the Gemini.
The girls discover Morgan may be destined to fulfill that ancient prophecy.
When psychics and profilers, all over the world, are again targeted for death, the historic pattern becomes obvious to a former FBI agent. Forced to join forces with an Irish psychic, they discover an improbable relationship links their past.
Mythology isn't in the training manual, but when Graeme witnessed a killer disappear into a solid stone wall, he admitted it was time for a reality check. Then the Irish woman's words seep into his waking thoughts, and he's convinced she's the same girl who's been in his dreams since childhood, his imaginary playmate. What does this ability to enter each other's minds asleep or awake mean?
Morgan can't believe the stubborn man refuses to accept their connection...until the shared dreams turn into nightmares.

PROLOGUE – The Onset of the Prophecy
A RIFT BETWEEN THE ancient gods and the royal fae, the caretakers of the elemental stones, divides the realms when star-crossed lovers unknowingly break a covenant with the gods. As a consequence, they are given a singular chance to right the wrong, and the Gemini descendants are forced to fulfill the prophecy.
Immortal killers, vengeful gods, and ancient battles over the ages remain a mystery until two modern Irish girls stumble upon a magical woven book of mythology stashed beneath the nearby standing stones. Reading the myths, they discover a past, which encompasses their ancestors and a future they will have to commit to or risk dying. This is what they discovered....
With the completion of the convocation, the fae queen began.... Each Gemini is entrusted with a gift to be shared and passed down throughout the ages, until one day, reborn together, the Gemini will forge the power of the light, the sea, the earth, and the air. I command you to return the elements to the Stone of Fal, lift the Veil, and reopen the portals between fae and earth. This is the promise of the Covenant.
Simultaneously, inside the gnarled skeleton of the giant yew tree, dark mystics practiced their black arts, surrounding the Dagda’s ancient Cauldron of Blood, the magic cauldron capable of making or taking life. Within the crimson tinged vapor rising in the air above the potion, a vision appeared. They released the Traighon from the Underworld so he might enter the mortal world and prevent the fulfillment of the prophecy.
Should the Traighon achieve his final goal and succeed in the ultimate quest, the sun will not rise and the rains will not fall and the flowers will not bloom again. All the worlds on every plane will cease to exist—all will be lost to the blue-green planet.
Chapter One – Mingling Worlds
Faery, the Otherworld of the Tuatha da Danaan
ALONG THE RIVERBANK, in the land of fae enchantment, King Amadan sat on a rock glittering with nuggets of pure gold. His wife caught the proud smirk on his lips when their young son, Nuada popped into diamond dust and then, moments later, reappeared in physical form on the other side of the portal. The lad gave a very human punch in the air as he jumped with pride, and his father gave him an equally mortal applause in return.
Wait for me,
Siofra called, never far from her burly brother. Not to be outdone, she faded into fae mist and shimmered back into the solid manifestation of her delicate fluid shape right behind him.
What was faery coming to?
the queen wondered. After waiting so long for a royal birth, both she and the king placed few restrictions on their children. They permitted the fair-haired twins free reign to experiment openly with their childish magic in the world of mortals.
Prince Nuada, and his twin, Princess Siofra, spent their days moving between worlds through the portals, often playing with creatures and mortal children. In doing so, they learned other ways and built trust in a world which would one day be entrusted into the care the next King of the Sidhe.
The druid children are a good influence on them.
Aine beamed, fondly. Her pride would be difficult to repress. Our children recognize the value of effort, unlike some lazy fae children.
He ran a hand over his chin and chuckled, a sparkle in his eye. Correct as usual, my brilliant love. They are excelling with their education.
When she clapped her hands to applaud their efforts, tiny stars tinkled into the air all around her. See how well they’ve already mastered transfiguration.
I’m not sure if I prefer Nuada’s pop technique over Siofra’s classic fade.
The king’s smile rivaled her own. After thousands of years, Aine still found Amadan’s dry sense of humor engaging.
Two mortal youngsters climbed up the knoll to the portal within the stone circle, and ran to meet the fae. Ebony-haired Rhys, and Aesliene, his fiery-haired twin sister, as enthusiastic as the fae children to meet again and get on with their games, were the offspring of the high druid priest and priestess who guarded the portals, the elements, and magic in the mortal world.
Amadan ran a broad hand under Aine’s sheer shimmering gown and up her thigh. Heat invaded her body like a lightning flash. Unlike other fae, their love hadn’t dulled over the ages they’d been together, and neither had their desire for one another. Time was irrelevant to the fae, but Aine never tired of gazing upon her husband’s strong muscled physique and chiseled features or being held in his loving embrace.
While the children are otherwise occupied, why not join me in the moss garden.
His words held power over her, but not as much as the desire she felt for him. His magical voice coaxed her with another temptation. I promise to cover your mouth with kisses to prevent your satisfied screams.
Aine lowered her lashes and sighed as she lazed inside a giant Calais lily, considering the pleasure her husband would give her. In the shade of the ancient weeping willow, she casually observed her children’s interaction with the mortal boy and girl. Unconcerned about their safety, the children would be safe within her protective spell; she could enjoy the magical touch of her husband’s love. But just as his lips hovered an inch from hers, something drew her attention back to the children. Instantly, her mood changed with her concern.
Amadan, although your suggestion sorely tempts me...look.
She pointed through the portal.
The children were little more than teens, but subtle signs of sexual interest worried Aine. At first, when they were younger and entered the mortal world, Nuada had gravitated to Rhys and Siofra to Aesliene, but lately the prince sought out the girl first, and this time, the mortal boy greeted Siofra with an affectionate embrace. Aine’s motherly instincts warned her, urged her to interfere, but then the children separated—the boys going off to do what boys do, and the girls remaining behind in the circle to practice spells.
What concerns you?
The king’s seductive voice still sent chills up her spine.
Ah, perhaps nothing. Merely a fleeting, maternal moment.
The worrisome moment passed, and she relaxed, but wondered at what point the children should be warned about taking their feelings to the next level. Aine waved off her concern and seductively beckoned her husband to her. He approached, banishing the toned down version of his appearance he used when near the mortals. The sight of Sidhe king in all his fae glory still took the breath from her and her heated need for him ravaged her body.
At her side, Amadan stroked her shoulders and gazed at the children. Understanding her concern, he soothed her. See, it is nothing.
For now, yes. But what if there is more to their friendship?
With a long, weary sigh, she asked, When should we warn the children this can never be more? Do we dare risk the wrath of the gods?
There is time. The mortal children are no more than pets to our children...like the honeysuckle pixies or wood nymphs.
"I hope you are right, because they so enjoy being with the druid children. Watch how patient Siofra is with Aesliene, teaching her the secret ways of the elements, and the
