About this ebook
The story of JOSEPH is taken from the pages of the greatest book ever written, the HOLY BIBLE. This particular story could serve as a guide for all families and mankind, in general. The story begins in Genesis 25:19 and runs through Genesis 50:26 and includes Exodus 1:1-6. It is a story about love, compassion, infighting, betrayal, revenge, murder, and famine. It is also a story of forgiveness, patience, hope, intimacy, family trials, delays, plans, and disruptions! Most important, as you read it, is to see the thread of God’s weaving together, not only the lives of individuals, or of families, but of nations as well. This particular family was attacked from every side by Satan. God,
however, in His infinite plan of justice and goodness took that evil and made sure Satan’s plan of destruction was destroyed. God is the Master of the human soul and uses His power to overcome the evil of the one He plans to send to hell – Satan. God has compassion on this world, just as He did on JOSEPH and his world. God created this world for His purpose and that will remain a mystery until we are called home, just as JOSEPH was called.
It is my hope that you will enjoy reading this special story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

OUR FAMILY
This is a story of my brother Joseph. I am Judah his brother so what you’re going to read comes from all I can recall of our time as a family, his leaving us under difficult circumstances, and his returning to us under miraculous conditions. So, bear with me as I will do my utmost in recounting an amazing life I was blessed to see!
First a bit of background. Our great grandfather was Abraham, the most faithful man ever written about. Our grandfather was Abraham’s son Isaac, and our grandmother was Rebekah. Isaac and Rebekah had two sons named Esau and Jacob. Jacob is our father. He had two wives (our four grandmothers), Leah and Rachel-who are the mother of:
Yet remember in all the above births, our grandfather was the sole husband and father of all 12 (plus a sister of ours named Dinah, whose mother was Leah).
There, our ancestors’ line has been told. My grandfather’s brother was a twin, and his name was Esau, but that’s another story all unto itself! Now it’s been said and probably true that my grandfather was blessed beyond imaginable because Rebekah (my great grandmother) had my father Jacob sneak into my great grandfather’s bedroom and send my father’s brother a blessing. That is why my father Jacob was blessed by God! There was a tremendous sadness brought about by this deed of deception. However, both brothers, Esau and Jacob made up over time and all is well as of this writing!
So how do I begin such a wonderful story of a brother who loved us seemingly far greater than we loved him! Being brought up with twelve kids is no easy job for any parent. It was definitely difficult with our father Jacob and our mother Rachel, Leah, Bilhah, and Zilpah. But like all families we made do with what we had. All of us were born when father was working for his Uncle Laban, who was the father of both Rachel and Leah. We lived in an area called Haran,
and there our father raised all kinds of animals-sheep, goats, cattle, and chickens. He would raise and sell these animals to those who did not have the time or expertise to do what father could do so well. It was as if father’s doing was a gift from God. If asked, he would agree with such a statement for where does one receive the blessing in any area, even with an education, it is still very much a gift from God?
But soon when we were all very young, our father decided to go back to the land from which he had come. Again, our grandfather, Laban, on our mother’s side, was not a happy man when father decided to move back. After sneaking out (as we all did at midnight) one night we knew father would not return to the labor-seeking Uncle Laban. As father said to all of us who could grasp what he was going through, Tonight we move on to a better life.
Only Grandfather Laban didn’t give up easily as he and some of his employees caught up with us just about five miles from our home. Yet after a small meeting with the two of them it abruptly ended in an agreement of some kind. Father even made some kind of small movement to recall this meeting of the minds. Then on the way back to our father’s land, with about a hundred of us, plus animals and packing camels and mules, it was heard our father’s brother was on his way to interrupt our trip. Father was scared to death his brother may do harm to any one of us.
But this meeting was similar to the meeting with Grandpa Laban. No fights, no arguing. Simply put, it was neat to see how the two of them hugged one another and made contact after, I heard, twenty plus years of not seeing each other. Soon our group of my father’s family moved on with camels, mules and a host of all that my father owned back at Grandfather Laban’s property. It took what seemed to be a long time
