Dedication and Thank You’s
This trilogy is dedicated to my loving mother. If it had not been for all your help, kindness, generosity, and tough love when needed, I would not have made it to this point. Thank you, Mrs. Dangerfield, for making me believe I could do anything I set my mind too.
I would also like to thank The Encore-FFS Leadership Team, The EGOT MS, LLC., PCPR and Communications, and everyone who has provided input for this work. Your thoughts, encouragement, critique, and support has meant the world to me. It has been a great journey, but the ride is just beginning.
Kudos to the author for taking a subject like retirement, which can seem overwhelming to most and breaking it into bite-sized bits of knowledge for the masses to understand!

The
Retirement
Trilogy:
A book series with written adaptations from the I’m Your Agent Podcast
A podcast geared towards education, information and allowing you to retire on your own terms
Introduction
It has been several years since I took pen to hand (laptop to knee) to share. The timing, for these words, is for such a time as this. The format of the book works well for this kind of information because a series of guides can be shared to help all of us become better people.
We should all be able to read 25 pages without getting bored or overwhelm. That right! Just 25 pages of information including pictures and antidotes. This book (the first of three) will feature exerts from the podcast I’m Your Agent
a podcast geared towards information, education, and helping people choose to retire on their terms.
When most people under 30 think of retirement they often think of old people and old things. However, when you reach 40, for most retirement becomes a very real and important consideration. The realization of not working for the rest of one’s life becomes very realistic. And more than that, the realization of possibly not having money to live on, becomes a very vivid thought.
Money helps to guarantee lifestyle and health so, yes this is an important topic to discuss. With 50 considered the new 30, and 60 being the new 40, what once seemed old is no longer. With the new tech generation and social media lifestyle for information gathering and transfer, things become old in less than 24 hours. However, when it comes to financial planning for this season of one’s life, most think we have more time than we do. A new year always has 365 days, but it seems to come sooner with each year of age.
The goal of this series is to help both those who are considering their options and those who may not have made retirement a priority, look to a comfortable and exciting lifestyle that offers a wonderful future by providing practical tips and necessary information.

Chapter 1
What/Who is a Retiree
Okay, this chapter is for all of you who woke up thinking you were 25 then looked in the mirror and realized that was 25 years ago even though you still look good. It is also a wake-up call for all of you who woke up at 25, in your parents’ home, with a brand-new career and your first 401k plan, thinking it will last forever….
You may want to think of a retiree like changing or replacing the tires on a vehicle. The vehicle is you… yes, you are the car of your dreams. The care for your car will cost you more money as it ages than you would spend when the vehicle is new. In this illustration, your tires, and your engine (your health and lifestyle) are the most important parts of the vehicle. Your dollars are the fuel, and your tires are the tools that you use to help your engine run properly on the road for the rest of your life. Your tires
