There the child stands hesitating, not because they have any real doubt in their mind of your ability to catch them, but rather because they allow their will to be influenced by their feelings, instead of being affected by an obvious certainty. This short book comes from What is Faith, a paperback published in 1897 on the subject of faith, containing contributions by several well known evangelists of the day, such as Moody and Spurgeon. Each section stands alone, and we are publishing here the section by W Hay Aitken, "What Must I Do to Be Saved?

W Hay Aitken was a mission preacher born in Liverpool, England. He visited the United States on a Mission Tour 1886, and again 1895-1896, when he worked also in Canada, the tour lasting over six months. In addition to his mission work, he was the writer of several full length Christian books and composed several hymns.

The Scripture references used in the original by Aitken seem to be from the American
