- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I am a first time reader of V.J. ChambersI received a copy for review. Slow to start in the beginning but once it picks up, hang on for a great ride. You will not be able to put this thriller down. This one keeps you guessing all the way to the end. There is love, uncertainty and raw emotion. I would recommend "Rough Edges" for all who like a good thriller.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I wasn't expecting what I got from this book and I must say that it was a wonderful surprise. The plot was very good, the characters well developed and the pace was the right one for this kind of suspense/psychological thriller. I couldn't put the book down because I really wanted to know the whys and the who's. I'm looking forward to more books from this author.A great thriller that I recommend for those who like some chills.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Having cut my teeth on decades of Stephen King's scary, scary, nights, I thought I had lost all my bejabbers years ago. I was wrong. There is a moment in this story so intensely frightening, I mean Jim-Bob, we are going to have to re-lock all the doors and windows tonight. Chambers' characters are wired wrong. Murder is a game, a craving, a need, a fierce pleasure. Whodunit fans, grab your favorite nerve tonic and curl up with this one!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a very good twisted thriller. I would tell everyone to read this book. This is a book you can not put down.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The author did a great job in pulling me in and keeping me in the story. This isn't just a thriller. This book is a psychological thriller. It's deep, dark and real. There were times I wanted to smack Sam over the head. At other times I wanted to wrap my arms around him and tell him he would be okay. Ms. Chambers showed how our emotions can drive our decisions and how our pasts can shape who we are. While I loved the storyline, I did have some trouble with the rhythm of the writing and in parts the writing could've been tighter, but that's just me. I'd recommend this book to anyone interested in a page turner.I was given a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Very good read. Reading it, I had deja vu because for some reason the storyline was familiar to me. Enjoyed the book though.

Rough Edges
What do you use to smooth rough edges?
Steel wool, a file, and sandpaper.
Does it matter if edges are jagged?
Can you soothe the heart with something other than adoration?
Can we mend the break with verity?
Or are they one and the same?
One to One, Heart to Heart we cannot be blamed.
All else is just part of the game.
What do you use to smooth rough edges?
Lotion, cream, and Vaseline.
Or does it matter which part is ill?
Can you soothe the heart with something other than honey?
Can we mend the crack with certainty?
Or are they one and the same?

Mama said they’re undercooked.
They call me nigger.
Mama said a nigger is a stingy person.
