Just a Sip of Nonsense - Luke Spink

    Pet Hyena

They said it would be fun

They said it would be cool

To buy a hyena and show it at school

But within 30 seconds I knew I was doomed

It gobbled my hand and went right up my arm

It glomped as it chomped, and chewed as it zoomed

Yet the brochure assured me it meant me no harm

Imagine my surprise when it swallowed my head!

Such a cute little thing sucking on my fragile brain

Though maybe it was tired and just needed a bed

I thought with my last thoughts I was going insane

But then a funny thing happened

    It suddenly spit me out

    It was playing, you see…

    A hyena amount!

    Crabgrass Farmers

Farming for grass isn't so hard

When you have a crab on your crew

Just one sharpened claw can trim a whole yard

Of maybe an acre or two

What's best is they eat as they go

Munching on the sweet green stalks

While the rest they turn into dough

Or bundle it up into blocks

    We give them protective glasses

Which they wear to shield their eyes

From the grass bits flung in masses

Through the air like little green flies

Each year in Spring they'll mow

So watch where you put your toe!

With mowing crabs it's good to know

Where the crabgrasses like to grow

    Where Can
