Amish Fire - Monica Marks
Good morning, Anna,
the young man called from across the lane, his face lighting into a happy smile as he recognized the beautiful blonde on the other side of the street. Anna deliberately turned to her sister, ignoring his greeting.
I am reminded of something suddenly; we must visit Mark Boyer for a side of pork from his butcher shop.
Melinda gasped, her mouth dropping open at the blatant disrespect emanating from Anna’s mouth.
Anna! He only said hello! No need to refer to him as swine,
Melinda chided in a low whisper but their neighbor was already out of view. Anna smiled wickedly.

Melinda laughed. "But Dat is growing concerned about your stubbornness."

Anna retorted. "It is selectivity. Dat would agree that he does not want us married of to merely anyone. I have the right to be choosy whom I wish to spend my life. Dat will not be stuck with him. I will."
What holds you back?
Melinda asked curiously. Surely they cannot all be poor matches for you.
They seem to be,
