    He was always alone.

    A half-breed stuck between dragon and man, belonging to neither and despised by both.

    "Halfling," the dragons hissed on the day he was born.

    They cast him into the wilderness to die. It was only through luck and instinct that he managed to survive.

    An ugly hatred festered within him. He soon found destructive ways to let go of his frustration.

    The halfling attacked human villages and towns. He breathed fire on homes, and devoured livestock with glee. He watched everything burn to feel the slightest relief.

    Enough halfbreed! roared Salazar, an elderly dragon.

    Salazar’s scarred body soared through the clear blue sky. His dark red scales glimmered in the sun, yellow claws extended outwards as he dived towards the halfling.

    Die, you old fool! the halfling cried back.

    His young dragon body was still strong despite his weak human side. He could easily change between the two forms, but preferred green scales and wings to frail human skin.

    They met mid-air in a clash of power. Teeth snapped and claws ripped at each other.

    The halfling was certain that he had the upper hand.
