Chapter 1. Fun With Mathematics
It's early in the morning . At breakfast table, grandpa said to the girls: "My dear children, have you ever wondered what we will be without math? How can life go on without math? You use math everyday; you use it at home to work out the things you have and the things you need to do; you use it in schools to work on the school work; you use it at the supermarkets to work out the money you are spending; and you use it in every science projects that you do.
Chapter 2. Invented Or Discovered?
"H ave you ever wondered whether math is something that is invented by humans, or is something that is discovered by humans in the long history of humankind? This seems to be a very challenging and deep question to ask. The answer is definitely difficult to give. But it does not change the fact that this question is the very essence of what math really mean to how the whole human race manages to survive and thrive in the hostile external environment.
"Well, I can tell you that the answer to the questions is both.
"You see, children, math is something that humans work out for themselves to cope with their daily lives like working out the cost of everything, the food and things that we have and we need, and the days and seasons of the years. This must be invention. right?
"But, at the same time, math
