2 years ago I invested 11 thousand pounds with a renowned marketeer/law of attraction personality who has worked alongside at least one big name from the movie The Secret.

In the past years that I have known Gull, not only have I benefited  vastly from her immense intuitive knowledge in money related matters but I am personally very inspired by her brave and courageous journey - the journey of a single mom who started from ground zero but with dedication and excellence has built for herself an empire of loyal followers and clients.

As I have also quoted in my book Her Way to the Top, the first time I realised I may have limiting beliefs around money was a couple of years back, when I attended Gull’s financial manifestation class. In that class, she asked us to write down our dream income. Many of us, including myself, hesitated to pen this down. In the next exercise, she asked us to double the income. And that’s when almost all of us became terrified and uncomfortable. When she started exploring as to why we were uncomfortable, it turns out it wasn’t because we thought the income was unattainable or overambitious, but we were scared to confront the changes that will come along with it. Most feared that they might not be able to justify time and commitment to their family once they started earning that much. Some were nervous about family reactions. Some even deliberated if their husband will be comfortable if they started earning twice as much. And then there were others who thought that their ‘niceness’, or perhaps the perception of it, might be impacted if they started earning a lot.

It was through Gull that I managed to identify energy blocks linked with my business income which I never knew I had! I also learned the importance of savings and healing from past traumas, a big one for me being my father’s sudden death many years ago. Moreover, I was finally able to accept that not only was I fearful of failure but I was also nervous about success and higher earnings. This was a life changing discovery. I am also very lucky to have Gull as the core team member of International Women Empowerment Events.  In the subsequent sessions that the IWEE team did with Gull, we learned the power of manifestations and guided visualisations and the clearings the team regularly did with Gull really enabled them and the organisation to attract abundance and achieve ground-breaking results. INTRODUCTION

My name is Gull Khan, and I am a Money Mindset expert. I’ve a happy, fulfilling life and a best friend who always helps me when I need her, namely Money. It wasn’t always this way though, let me start by sharing my journey; how I went from being a banking and finance lawyer, to a money mindset expert, and everything that happened in-between.

This wasn't an easy journey. Nor was it a straightforward decision, or something I initially set out to do with intent. In my youth I had all the aspirations of becoming a world-renowned lawyer, but none for becoming a money mindset expert, none at all. The things I have learned, the journey that I've had and the experiences along the way are all what led me to where I am right now. I know I'm on the right path, and this is why I'm so passionate about what I teach. I'm passionate about money. I'm passionate about teaching the concept of money to the people around me; to my clients, friends and family. It is this passion which allows me to get the results for my clients that I do, and I have phenomenal testimonials to prove that my strategies actually work. 

First though, I must recount the events that led me here, my lived life so that you understand what, and how, I understand. Foremost, I can assure you I understand the concept of not having money, and the feelings that go with that. However well off I might be now, it isn’t where I came from. All will be revealed very shortly. 

Let's start with the beginning. I was actually originally born in Manchester. My family moved to Pakistan when I was a few months old because my father wanted to set up a new business there. In Islam, Muslim men are allowed to have more than one wife. However, they expressly need permission from the first wife. My father did not ask this permission (my mother would have refused anyway) when he remarried. So, upon finding out he was with someone new, my mother left my father and we came back to the UK. My parents separating happened when I was five years old. My father played the financial card; by not supporting my mother, he assumed she would eventually come back, being used to a lavish lifestyle as she was, and that she would bring the kids back too. Unfortunately for him, my mother was a stubborn woman, and simply said, Nope. Back in England, we found ourselves in London.

I grew up on a council estate in the East End of London. If you know anything about the East End of London, you can imagine what kind of life I had as a young child, being the kind of person I was. My brother was older than I, he went off the rails and did all sorts of unruly things; all because he couldn't adjust to the fact that we’d had lots of money, and now we didn't.  

I went the other way. I wanted to prove to my father that I didn't need him, that I could be someone, and something, without his help or guidance. I studied hard. I was a straight A student, and I went on to pass university despite being assessed as severely dyslexic in the first year of my law degree. I was shocked by the fact that I was able to get such high grades despite my dyslexia.  I still am - you can't change that. (There isn’t a cure, not that I need one.)

When I look back, I realise now; all these achievements actually proved, was the fact that I was really hostile, all I cared about was getting to the level of my father - becoming a ‘successful’ and ‘wealthy’ person. I did it the only way I knew how back then; which was to study really hard and become a professional, such as a doctor, or a lawyer, or whatever else. I chose law because I'm very articulate, I speak well and have confidence, and therefore I chose a vocation that utilised those skills. 

I went on to become not only a lawyer in the UK, but to qualify in other jurisdictions as well. I became a Barrister with a Middle Temple in the UK. I also became a New York Attorney.  I actually passed the American bar exam prior to becoming a Barrister in the UK, but I didn't take the Hypocritical oath.  I took the oath after, and therefore actually qualified as an Attorney after I became a Barrister with the England and Wales Bar Association. Because of the extensive experience I accumulated working for some of the top law firms in the world, let alone the UK, my experience was accepted by the Law Society and I became a fully qualified Solicitor with the England and Wales Law Society later on. 

This means now I'm one of those rare breeds who is qualified as an Attorney, with the New York Bar, as a Barrister with Middle Temple, and also as a fully qualified Solicitor. That said, I practice in none of these disciplines today. 

Once I became a lawyer, my career was my mission. I lost my mother when I was 21 years old, and that loss led me on the path of being even more determined to be successful and focussed, to stand ahead of everyone else. I was determined to attain a lot of success, despite things that might hold me back such as personal loss, or my dyslexia. It was this thinking that led me on the path of personal development; I first went ahead and picked up a Tony Buzan book about mind maps that I read after finishing a speed reading course, all of which helped me study and excel further. I also picked up another Tony authored book; this time Tony Robbins’ Awaken the Giant Within. It was this that led me on my long journey of becoming a personal development junkie; I’d already been a personal drama junkie and had been doing that for quite some years.

Now, I had no intention of ever going into personal development. It was just something I studied to allow myself to have personal success, and succeed societally, in the way I wanted to. Like I’ve said; I was very determined to have financial success. By the time I was in my mid-20s, I was working for some of the top law firms in the world, earning high figure salaries in both pounds and dollars, all with the respect of my peers.

Once all this was achieved, I chose to have an arranged marriage. Yes, I went down the traditional path of actually having an arranged marriage. My father chose my first husband for me. We only had meetings a couple of times before the ceremony. My first husband decided he didn’t want to work, he preferred to be able to be a stay at home husband who would look after our new-born daughter. I was happy about this. He did a little bit here and there, but most of the financial burden was on me, which was fine, I was happy to accept because I was a banking finance
