    Kade Tompson - Dick Diamond

    CHAPTER ONE | KADE THOMPSON

I looked at myself in the mirror and combed my hair. I had a meeting with my twin brother, and hopefully, he wasn’t going to be late. Walt had a knack for being late to anything. At least he had become better with his new girlfriend beside him.

She was a lot different from any girl he had seen Walt with. And I wasn’t referring to race. She was hot, yes, but she didn’t possess the bossiness in women that Walt loved.

I searched for my phone to text Walt. I knew he would have probably forgotten about the meeting. I texted him and got a reply almost immediately.

I won’t be late. I sorta promise, I read out loud. I knew this meant that he was going to be late. I sighed and dropped my phone on the bed.

What’s got you all worked up, baby, May said.

May was my girlfriend of three years. I loved her dearly. I planned on proposing to her after closing the deal Walt and I was currently on. May was my everything and my life. We began dating a few weeks after I met her at one of my hotels, and since then, it’s been a paradise. Although my friends don’t like her, I don’t care. I thought May was great, and that was all that mattered. It did bother me a little that Walt, of all people, couldn’t stand her. May could be a handful, but I did love her a whole lot. I’m guessing Walt would understand what love meant now that he had a girlfriend.

I’m meeting up with Kade, and I know he’s going to be late, I walked over to where she stood. She stood in front of the bathroom door.

He’s like this because you let him, May wrapped her arms around my waist. I placed my forehead on hers and pulled her closer.

Let him how? Walt is never coordinated. I’m fine with it,

If you say so, she smiled. The last time we had a conversation about Walt’s lateness, May and I ended up fighting. I’m glad this conversation ended immediately.

Are you staying over tonight? I asked her. I wanted to come back to the room and meet her tucked in. May stayed over at my place most times. I had asked her to move in, but May didn’t want to say at my hotel. She had told me that the hotel didn’t feel like a home, and I completely understood her. I lived in one of the penthouses in my hotel. So getting a house wasn’t a top priority for Walt and me. Plus, I could oversee the activities of the hotel this way. I planned on getting a home when I proposed to her.

No, I have to help my sister do something, she said. I sighed and pouted.

But I’ll be here tomorrow morning, she placed a kiss on my nose.

Okay, babe. I have to get going now, I said, placing a chaste kiss
