    THE VERY END!

Warning: If you first read PART ONE of this story then you will know that it contains some explicit language as it is set in part during the days before Independence in South Africa when racist language was an everyday occurrence. However, my wish as an author is to produce a lusty adventure

The photo above is of a Cut and Polished Pure White Flawless Diamond. This Story is about the possession of the Uncut version of such stones and how man will steal and kill to possess such valuable creations of Nature found in abundance in Southern Africa but in very well protected mining areas. This tale deal with the theft of a huge cashe of huge  stones to further the aims of a political party and the wild dreams of the Drug Lord to further his serach for the fabled Fountain od Youth. Enjoy Part Two.

tale that will reflect reality and entertain the reader for a while as well as taking the reader on a mentally pictorial journey to some of the exotic places we visited while forming and researching locations for this story.  However, if you enjoy adventure with all that entails then this is a must read. This adventure spans three continents and involves some amazing sailing in the South Atlantic Ocean on a state-of-the art mega catamaran that has been adapted to be invisible to radar with special high-speed motors and stealth capabilities. The fact that the owner is a supposedly reformed drug lord creates more problems for the delivery crew on their entry into Brazilian waters with a vicious sea battle off the East coast of Brazil. They eventually deliver the catamaran to the owner in Manaus where more alarming activities of the former drug lord are discovered. Using the vast profits from his past cartel Pedro Escadore has embarked on the search for the fountain of Eternal Life and by what comes out of this encounter looks as though he may have found it at his Clinic in the jungle. What appears to be the most amazing medical feat since Christiaan Barnard carried out the world ’ s first heart transplant. This story has only 2 photograph inserted one is the cover and the other is my boat at the very end, because MS Word simply gave up half-way through the 45 Photo's I tried to insert However, I'm going to produce a Free photo Album showing the places where the action is taking place, hopefully in the correct order where possible but with E-Books this is by no means certain!

    CONTINUED FROM PART ONE

‘ What baby farm? ’ Jimmy yelled. Pedro looked even more worried now; he had let it slip and hoped he would not be punished for it. He checked that Jake was nowhere to be seen then continued.

‘ They make babies somehow, to sell to the rich, they make them to order, any colour you want I have seen the women, Indians all of them, but their babies are not Indian. I think the stuff we bring them must be magic, otherwise how can Indian women have all these different coloured babies? ’ Pedro seemed relieved that he had shared this secret information with someone else. He had never even told his crew mate Jake of his suspicions.

‘ How do you know all this? ’ Jimmy asked.

‘ My ex-wife, she was a nurse there, she disappeared last year, and no one has seen her since, ’ Pedro admitted with a look of sorrow and anger in his dark eyes. ‘ She was a good nurse too and loved the kids, I think they killed her. ’

‘ The kids killed her? ’

‘ No, the doctors of course, ’ Pedro corrected.

    ‘ But why? ’

‘ Why? I wish I knew, she told me of some very strange things going on at that clinic, black magic things. They must have found out she knew all about what they were doing, so they silenced her forever. She was a good woman and I miss her now even though we had already split up, that was my fault, but I know I ’ ll never see her again. ’

    Chapter 1: The Setback.

They had spent too long on Ascension Island! The old man had taken a turn for the worse while there and had to be treated at the US Base hospital for what appeared to be bronchitis.

‘ This old timer shouldn ’ t be flying around the world like this, he ’ s terminally ill man, ’ the US Base doctor told Andrade.

‘ That is precisely the reason he is flying, ’ Andrade replied testily, ‘ he is to receive special treatment for his condition, at my Clinic. ’ The US Medic looked askew at Andrade.

‘ Well, the only treatment I ’ ve seen for a guy with this condition is to get his relatives to call around to say farewell, ’ he whispered after giving the old man a cocktail of antibiotics. Once loaded back on the small jet, Nurse Crystal had a knack of making the old man feel better, so she stayed at his bedside during take-off then returned to her seat, next to Andrade as they lost view of Ascension ’ s Green Mountain. Castro and Mendez were happy that they had been taken off that yacht it was working out better than they had hoped, and they were looking forward to being back in Brazil

Only the deep blue South Atlantic Ocean could be seen below as they left the lonely Island far to the East. Their new course of 270 degrees, would take them directly due west to Brazil ’ s north eastern State of Pernambuco where they would land in Recife. The Easterly trades, which blow seafarers over the South Atlantic Ocean had helped the little jet as well, so the trip took less than the estimated four hours. It was therefore a surprise when just after three o ’ clock that afternoon the pilot announced he was to lose altitude for their landing at Guararapes International Airport. The pilot circled around to make the approach in order to be head into the gusting trade winds on landing. Flying along the coast at an altitude of less than three hundred feet, the passengers were treated to the magnificent view below. The breath-taking vista of golden sands for as far as the eye could see. Huge white crested waves crashed onto the dangerous reefs from which the City derived its name. The new upmarket hotels and apartment blocks that lined the famous promenade reflected the sun in their gold tinted windows and roof top pools.

‘ That is Boa Viagem! One of the finest residential districts in Recife, ’ Andrade boasted to his new lover. ‘ I have a holiday home down there and would like to show it to you. Crystal turned from the amazing view below and smiled back, looking directly into his black eyes.

‘ I think I ’ d like that Doctor, ’ she replied. ‘ Does it include more of that special treatment for insomnia? ’ He squeezed her thigh and continued to stare at her, feeling the magnetic attraction of her strange beauty. A shiver went up his spine as if someone had just walked over his grave. Slightly disturbed he watched her taking in the view below, the long black hair swept back sternly from her face, emphasising the high cheekbones and Celtic good looks. He realised that he knew nothing about her at all and wondered how old she was.

As soon as the plane touched down a private ambulance raced alongside, matching its speed until it came to a rest in the VIP section. Andrade had requested this by fax from Ascension that morning. The old man was bundled into the waiting ambulance with Andrade and Crystal joining him in the back. Seconds later and with a minimum of red tape they were whisked away to a destination known only to the Brazilian doctor. The others had to queue at the Customs and Immigration just like everyone else, however even here no one was searched or asked for visa ’ s, so surprisingly there were no delays. After collecting their things, the four men were met by a uniformed chauffeur. He escorted them to a waiting limousine then whisked them silently from the Airport through the busy streets of Boa Viagem and onto the Beautiful beach-front promenade to the Recife Palace Hotel.

‘ Mr. Lowland and Mr. Birch, you are expected here, ’ the chauffeur said as he unloaded their things. ‘ I will see that the other two Gentlemen get to their destination as the Doctor instructed. Have a pleasant stay in Recife, if you need anything at all just call this number, ’ he handed Birch a black embossed business card with the words, ‘ Recife Limousine Hire. They checked in at the modern reception desk and were shown to their rooms. Both men were on the twentieth floor where the view of the reefs and beaches was not unlike that they had seen from the low flying aircraft. Birch unpacked his case and took a quick shower then dressed and went up to the roof top bar for a cooling drink. Ten minutes later Lofty joined him and they sat beside the swimming pool.

‘ Nice hotel, it ’ s as good as any of ours, ’ Birch remarked as a golden-brown beauty in ‘ G ’ string and skimpy Bra frolicked in the water.

‘ Nice scenery too, ’ Lofty agreed as he watched her effortlessly climb out and lower herself, dripping onto a snow-white beach towel. A waiter in smart livery arrived and asked in English if Lofty would care to order.

‘ A nice cold beer would go down well young man what do you recommend? ’

‘ The Choppe Sir, much better than the bottled beers in my humble opinion, ’ he replied.

‘ Then the Choppe it ’ ll be, whatever that is, Roger, one for you too? ’ Roger nodded.

‘ Thanks, it ’ s their draught beer and very good from what I remember, well what now Mr. Lowland? ’

‘ Lofty please, you know me well enough now Roger. I just phoned our agent here, a company called ‘ H. Stern, their local manager will meet us for dinner tonight. He ’ ll bring the local A.M Central Sales Agent for this part of the world along as well, so we ’ ll just have to take it from there. ’

‘ What do you want me to do. ’ Birch asked.

‘ Let ’ s see what comes up tonight, after that we can make further plans, for now let ’ s just enjoy this rest.

The ambulance pulled into the hibiscus-shaded driveway of a modern building in downtown Santo Antonio. A plaque above the entrance announced that it was a private cardiac clinic. Two burly male nurses took the old man to a private room that was complete with a vase of fresh cut flowers a television set and a large double bed draped with mosquito nets. The burly nurses gently rolled the patient onto the bed and Andrade examined him quickly. Crystal waited in the reception area while Andrade instructed the resident consultant on how to treat the old man. Once satisfied that old Harry would be safe, he returned to the lobby and ordered a car.

‘ Would you like to join me at my home now or shall I book you into the hotel with Birch and Lowland? ’ Andrade bluntly propositioned.

‘ I think I ’ d like to see how a famous surgeon lives in Brazil? ’ Crystal purred, ‘ besides I find those two so boring. ’ Andrade went to the desk and issued last minute orders before taking Crystal ’ s arm and leading her out to the waiting car. After a short drive back through town to the waterfront, they soon arrived at Andrade ’ s holiday home. A huge multi-storey apartment block standing in palm shaded grounds complete with its own pool and a strip of private beach. The car entered through security gates that were operated via the vehicle remote control.

‘ Send those cases up to the penthouse Jose, ’ Andrade instructed as he took Crystal ’ s hand and led her into the lobby. A private elevator was set into a huge mosaic artwork wall depicting Christ the Redeemer standing on Rio ’ s famous ‘ Corcovado ’ . With arms outstretched, it was as if he was welcoming the visitor to walk right through his body and into the lift. Using a card Andrade called the elevator and they rode in silence to the top floor. The door hissed open to reveal what looked like an Amazon rain forest complete with tropical birds and even a live Parrot. A water feature splashed glowing green water into an ebony fish pool from the mouth of a pink Amazon River dolphin. Dark shapes moved below the surface. Crystal ’ s eyes opened wide; she had never seen anything like this before. Andrade watched her face and smiled, he was enjoying this, he had worked hard all his life and didn ’ t spend enough time in this retreat but when he did he made sure he was never alone.

‘ Wow! Who looks after all these plants and the birds when you ’ re not here? ’ she asked.

‘ Node esta Jose, ’ the parrot said in squawking Portuguese while staring at Andrade.

‘ He ’ s coming now ’ Andrade answered the Parrot in a similar voice, smiling at her surprise.

‘ Jose does! He looks after everything for me in Recife, his brother is the manager of this apartment building, and besides driving, Jose is the handy man around here. ’ Jose arrived with their things then left again after feeding the Parrot a handful of seed.

‘ Come, see the rest of my summer retreat, ’ Andrade removed her coat and threw it on to a steel and leather chair. He led her into the lounge where a solid glass sculptured bar stood against one wall, its form resembling a submerged wreck. Sitting on solid glass stools sculptured into the shapes of sea creatures, a drinker could look out over the balcony onto the miles of golden beaches, blue Ocean and thundering surf. Crystal perched herself on one of the glass stools and found it refreshingly cool, she smiled to herself and wondered if she was steaming it up.

‘ You seem amused, may I mix you a special drink? ’

‘ Go ahead make my stay, ’ she teased, ‘ I think I need a little cooling. Andrade reached for a bottle of Minas Gears Cachaca from the shelf then opened the refrigerator and pulled out a tall can which he proceeded to open. The contents of this he poured over ice into two tall glasses adding unrefined sugar then a double tot of the Cachaca.

‘ Um Batted Cocoa, ’ he said, stirring the milky liquid with a twiddle stick then sliding it over to Crystal. ‘ It ’ s one of our most popular drinks, ’ he said. ‘ Salute. ’

‘ Salute, what ’ s in it? ’ she asked, sipping the silky sweet cocktail.

‘ The Cachaca is distilled from our sugar cane; they also make fuel for cars from the same cane, so the locals treat it with great respect. Then we add the special Coca milk and sugar, like it? ’ Crystal took another sip.

‘ I think the locals are right, it ’ s so smooth, one could easily forget its potency. ’ Andrade smiled as he watched her enjoying the potent drink. They watched the sun together as it cast long shadows on the beach below then just before it disappeared behind the mountains to the west, Andrade came from behind the bar.

‘ Let me show you to your room now, ’ he soothed , as Crystal drained her fourth glass. Opening a door to reveal a huge room with a silk draped four-poster bed, an on-suite bathroom and a dressing room complete with a mini-gym. Crystal blew a whistle of surprise.

‘ Thank you Doctor, I can ’ t wait to get into a hot bath after that long trip. ’

‘ You ’ ll find a choice of fine soaps and perfumed oils and there are warm towels and gowns on the rail. Just indulge yourself and call me if there is anything more you require I ’ ll be right next-door. I ’ ll be taking a shower myself then rest for an hour or so, you know I ’ ve really missed my siesta ’ s while working in Africa, shall we say seven thirty for dinner? ’ With that Andrade disappeared into the adjoining bedroom and unlocked the inter-leading door.

The contrast could not have been greater. Castro and Mendez were dropped off at a disused house with shutter boarding where the windows should have been. They were met by three men and bundled into what must have been the dining room. One of the men pushed them into a couple of old armchairs. The room was dark and filthy with fast food containers and empty soft drink bottles scattered around the floor; a half-eaten plate of pasta was still on the table. The only new thing in the room was a Computer and it flickered on as one of the men hit its power switch.

Sit there, ’ one of the thugs demanded. Castro did as he was ordered and sat facing the monitor. A blinding spotlight was switched on while the thug tapped in a few keystrokes to bring the PC monitor alive. The unmistakable huge head and stone like features of Pedro Escadore came into focus. Castro shrank backwards into the chair at the formidable sight.

‘ Good evening Mr. Castro, I trust the trip was not too taxing for you? ’ the electronic image said menacingly. Castro gasped, he thought his hours never mind his days were numbered, no one this low in the organisation ever met Escadore, even electronically, unless it was to say goodbye.

‘ Speak up! The boss can hear as well as see you, ’ the goon prodded.

‘ It was Andrade, he told us to leave the yacht Sir, ’ Castro spluttered out.

I know that Castro, Doctor Andrade was merely following my orders! You may be needed here when my yacht enters the river. You will meet the vessel at sea and escort it to Jacare to make sure that nothing happens to it or its cargo. Do you understand me Mr. Castro? ’ the voice boomed.

‘ Si, Yes Sir, ’ Castro answered shakily.

‘ Good, then the two of you will make your way to the shipyard and contact Stevens, he will instruct you what to do next. Now tell me about my diamonds and those people on board. ‘ Much relieved that he may live to see another day Castro spluttered out the series of events that had taken place between Port Nolloth and the Island of Ascension where they had left the catamaran leaving out the details of their escapades with Marilee on St Helena. Escadore listened in stony silence as he watched the beads of perspiration trickle down Castro ’ s face and felt the tingling in his scrotum once more as he saw the terrifying effect he still had on people.

Chapter 2 : Flight from Namibia.

Nboko washed as best he could in the bucket of cold water then changed into the new clothes that had been provided. He checked the case and noted that it contained all the normal items that any tourist going on holiday would carry. The tickets seemed fine and even the photo in his passport was a recent one making him wonder how they had come up with that. He noticed that there were several airline tickets that would route him from Windhoek to Johannesburg. From there he would board a South African Airways flight to Rio de Janeiro. From Rio, a Varig Cruzeiro internal flight would take him to Joao Pessoa, the closest large City to Jacare. As he was inspecting these, the door burst open and the same two guards entered.

‘ Let ’ s go! ’ They pushed Nboko into the back seat again, throwing his case and holdall behind the rear seat, where the dead thing had been on the trip up. This time they turned west onto the dirt road at the entrance to the compound and bumped along for some miles before turning south into a small clearing. A single engine light aircraft stood on the red earth strip with its motor running, the prop wash blowing fine sand all over the place. The Toyota pulled up alongside the plane and a hatch opened above the wing.

‘ Get in it! ’ the driver shouted, ‘ and do as the co-pilot tells you. ’ Nboko struggled up onto the wing stepping where he saw footprints had been painted. He entered the small cabin through the hatch and found a seat in the rear of the aircraft. There were two men sat at the controls. The man on the right was a thin African and had a gun levelled at Nboko ’ s chest. The one in the left-hand seat was a swarthy white man.

‘ Fasten your seat belt that ’ s a good boy, there are only two ways out of here and you don ’ t want to use the quick one do you? ’ the co-pilot leered.

‘ Where are we going? I thought I was to go on a proper plane, ’ Nboko said indignantly.

‘ Oh, you did, did you, well this is a ‘ proper plane ’ , it ’ s the only plane that can land or take off in this shit hole you moron so sit back and we ’ ll take you to the big birdie in the sky, ’ the white man said. It was a bumpy low-level flight most of the way as they are following roads and sometimes dry riverbeds, the co-pilot issuing directions from a road map. Their air speed was reduced as a result, so the trip to Windhoek took over four hours. When they landed, the co-pilot handed him some notes and a wallet containing South African Rands, US Dollars and Brazilian $Real.

‘ Use the cash only when necessary for taxi ’ s, train fares and food, no pissing it up this is not a holiday. The notes in there will tell you how to change aircraft in Johannesburg and Rio and who to ask for once you reach Brazil. ’ They escorted Nboko to the International departure lounge and made sure that he checked in on the Namibair flight to Johannesburg. Checking-in was a formality so he boarded the little Fokker turbo prop that would take him on the first leg of this new adventure. He felt more at home, as the lovely Namibair hostess treated him like a king after she found that he was from the same part of Namibia as herself. He asked her what Johannesburg was like and if it would be difficult to find his next plane.

‘ No, ’ she laughed, ‘ your things will have been booked right through so all you do is find your way to the International hall and ask anyone, just show them your flight number. ’ There was a delay in Johannesburg before the SAA flight was due to leave for Brazil so Nboko found the bar and thought he ’ d spend some of the money they had given him.

A huge TV above the bar was showing Winnie Mandela being quizzed by Bishop Tutu ’ s Truth and Reconciliation Commission. They were asking her about her so-called football team and her part in the necklace killings during the struggle for independence. Nboko watched with great admiration, he knew of Mrs. Mandela, all freedom fighters admired the Mother of the Nation for her forthright manner and action against the Boer.

‘ They should string that bitch up. ’ A heavy accented gruff voice announced from behind him. Nboko spun round on his stool to see three huge hairy men with great beer bellies overhanging their shorts sitting at one of the raised tables swilling Castle lagers.

‘ Nee man hangings too good for that Kaffir bitch they should necklace her like she did to her victims, ’ another man shouted. Nboko wondered how these Afrikaners could be allowed to say such things in the New South Africa, but then he realised looking at the size of them, no one was going to complain in here.

He finished his beer as quickly as possible and left the bar to find somewhere safer to sit. Eventually he boarded the SAA flight for Rio and was amazed at the sheer size of the 747. He had second thoughts about continuing, maybe I should get off and just vanish into Johannesburg, and then he remembered Zelda and allowed the hostess to show him to a window seat at the rear of the plane.

Andrade was awakened by something warm and silky moving close to him in bed, he turned to see Crystal and felt her nakedness beside him, her hands were all over him and he felt his passion rise.

She rolled on top of him her hot breasts pressing into his chest while her thrusting tongue explored his mouth wildly. Her right hand dived below the sheet to seek his member then withdrew again just as quickly when she felt it was still shrivelled and limp. She looked at Andrade in mock disappointment then lowered her head over him taking the shrivelled thing into her mouth in an attempt to revive it. Andrade looked on in amusement but allowed her to continue.

‘ Nothing ’ s happening she gasped with a look of horror after letting it slip from her lips.

‘ Can you feel that little bump under my skin? ’ he asked, moving her fingers to the spot. She felt around with her fingers and found a slight bulge below his skin, she nodded.

‘ Apply pressure to that point and hold it there until you are happy, ’ he told her. Crystal thought he must be weird, but she did as he said and could feel a strange throbbing like a racing pulse. She looked at his shrivelled member and watched in total disbelief as it started to rise. Andrade started to breath heavy, he felt the pins and needles in his arms return again as blood was diverted into his rapidly swelling member. Crystal ’ s eyes were popping out of her head as she saw the once flaccid little tube swell into a solid shaft of flesh the size of a rolling pin. Andrade groaned in agony.

‘ Release the pressure, surely you will be happy with that, my left leg is numb. ’ Crystal released the pressure then straddled him to lower herself onto it, but it was just too big to enter her. Andrade placed his fingers on the same pressure spot and applied pressure again while Crystal was attempting to guide it into her, then suddenly she slipped right onto it. Crystal threw her head back and sighed as she felt the hot flesh penetrate deep inside her.

‘ As the Aussies say, ‘ brace yourself Crystal ’ , ’ Andrade said, breathing heavily after applying more pressure. He was panting rapidly and gulping in air to satisfy the demand for oxygen that this unnatural practice was placing on his ageing body.

‘ How does that feel now? ’ he asked. Crystal could not believe what was happening to her, it felt as though she was being filled up from inside with hot throbbing flesh and she let out an involuntary scream.

‘ What the fuck are you doing to me, ’ she said, trying to get off the enlarging pillar.

‘ Relax, ’ Andrade soothed between gasps. It felt as though she was giving birth and would split in half at any moment, but she was stuck there and could not release herself from the huge shaft.

‘ It ’ s hurting me, can ’ t you reduce it, my insides are bursting, ’ she begged. Andrade just laughed, ‘ I thought all you ladies wanted was something like this, a penis which can be as big as you like and last till morning. ’ He allowed a little pressure to be released and she felt her insides contract as the shaft reduced in volume.

‘ That ’ s better, ’ she said, now able to move up and down on it normally. They made love for over an hour before either of them climaxed and even this seemed to be under Andrade ’ s remote control.

‘ How did you do that? ’ Crystal asked as she rolled off him and lay panting on her back, ‘ And why is that thing still standing up like that? ’ Andrade laughed again.

‘ Come let ’ s shower before dinner, ’ he said, jumping off the bed. She stared in wonder at the thing that had just impaled her, pointed towards the sky as he walked over to the shower. He must be fifty if he ’ s a day, she thought, yet it ’ s still behaving like a teenager ’ s. She bounded after him into the double shower where he stood with ice-cold water cascading over him. She turned the opposite shower onto hot and stood facing him, her eyes glued to his crotch.

‘ Is that how you make it go down? ’ she asked.

‘ No, it will only go down when I tell it to, when I ’ ve finished with it, ’ he smiled, then adjusted his shower to medium heat and pulled her towards him, twisting her around at the same time, his hands cupped her breasts, and he gently bent her forwards. He guided himself into her from behind and she shuddered as once more she was impaled. She placed her hands flat on to the marble seat on the opposite wall to support herself while the huge pillar plunged into her. Andrade made a final adjustment and once more she felt her insides tighten. This time however, the feeling was one of pure pleasure and she allowed herself to be carried away on the rhythm of his pounding and the gentle sprays from the twin showerheads. When they had finished he pulled out of her and let her see what it was that had been inside her, she looked at the huge glistening member and could not believe it had fitted inside.

‘ OK time to turn it off, ’ Andrade laughed. He took hold of her left hand and placed it around his member, she could feel it pulsating like a living thing, her hand unable to encircle it. He then guided her right hand to the inside of his left thigh and placed her fingers over a second bump under the skin.

‘ Press very hard there, ’ he said. She followed his directions once more and felt with her other hand the solid shaft start to soften then shrink rapidly until it was nothing more than an old man ’ s willy.

‘ It ’ s one of the advantages of being a rule free Doctor my dear, ’ he said, as he watched her look of amazement. My team of surgeons call it the ‘ Bionic Dick ’ and only a couple of hundred men in the world have such control. It will last until I die, which will not be for a very long time yet, I assure you so better make the most of tonight my dear, ’ he whispered, ‘ tomorrow we must get to work, the old man will be ready for us by now. ’

    Chapter 3 : The Reception.

Skip was as good as his word; he collected the crew of Chameleon in his minibus for a trip around the Island. They visited the sand golf course that is rolled each day to flatten the ‘ sandy greens. He took them up the narrow winding road to the summit of ‘ Green Mountain where the Island ’ s only farm was located to take advantage of the regular rainfall and mist. Muller was most impressed when Skip showed them the tunnel dug right through the mountain by the British marines simply to enable those thirsty warriors to visit the Red Lion pub on the other side of the mountain almost a mile away. They also visited the Red Lion the famous Pub that opens on demand by ringing a large ship ’ s bell. The overworked farm manager serves as duty barman and pulled them all a beer in this last outpost for a British pint. They saw the pink land crabs that live at the top of this volcanic mountain and later while driving back had seen them walking the five miles down the road to mate in the sea. Skip took them to ‘ English Beach ’ where the isolated British expatriates play in crystal-clear water during their many holidays. On the way they passed below a forest of radio antennae, some as big as Boeings and operated by the BBC ’ s Atlantic relay station, while the GCHQ and MI6 boys regularly listen in on the world ’ s broadcasters, and more recently to Internet terrorist activity. The last but one place of call had been a sad one. ’ A visit to the lovely little beach called ‘ Comfortless cove. ’ Here he pointed out the white painted gravestones where unfortunate ship ’ s crew, officers and even doctors had been buried after contracting the dreaded yellow fever. These hapless souls were dropped off and left to die because there was no cure in those days. The incredible sight of great leatherback turtles had more than balanced this, eyes streaming with tears as they laid their golf ball sized eggs deep in the sand after digging what could only be described as craters.

‘ Once those critters hatch out it ’ s another one of life ’ s miracles to see the tiny clockwork like turtles try to make it past the predators to the sea and even there, they still have to run the black fish gauntlet. ’ After this great day-out they had settled in at the Exiles club where drinks flowed until well after sundown, resulting in the throbbing heads on board this morning.
