About this ebook

Edward has taken an unscheduled trip through time -- quite against his will and better judgement, too!  And he has found himself in mediaeval times: alone, friendless, and quite put out about it, to put it mildly.

But he has found shelter, and new acquaintances.  Not least the Lady Marian, who is the dead spit of his own sister Mary.

And Sir Jacob -- a knight at arms, in a most imposing castle.  A very handsome knight at arms, too...

    About the Author

    Witch Time

Unable to stop himself , Edward reached out a hand to touch hers.  But she patted him briskly, and seemed to put away sad thoughts: smiled wide, and stood.  'You are ready to come find some quarters for your stay with us, good sir?' she enquired, indicating his empty bowl, the denuded bag of honeycakes.  (She'd helped with a couple.)

It was the warmest welcome he'd had in a long time: but he was cautious, based on experience.  Running a hand through his hair, he was horribly aware of a good eighteen hours since his last shower, and who knew when he'd get another, and his clothes grimy as well as era-inappropriate.  'Milady,' he said, 'perhaps it isn't a good idea.  If you are discovered to be harbouring an uninvited intruder in your father's castle, will it not go hard with you?'  God knew, he didn't want to get this poor kid in trouble.

But her shoulder-shrug was airy.  'As to that sir: my Gift solves many difficulties.  Only look!' she commanded.  And that was enough to vanquish his doubts: because with a shimmer upon the air the like of which you might see in hot desert lands, there stood before him, for an instant, no Lady Marian at all.

Even though he knew, now, what was up and what was behind it, it was still enough to make him shudder with unease.  And to call out like a fool: Ah, milady!  I know – erm, wherever you've gone, do please come back!  I am most uncomfortable with your, um, dematerialization!  If it please you – please, if it please you...?

And he reached out a tentative hand to about where she'd been when he'd seen her moments before.  (And when did you last see your father, he jollied himself.)

To be greeted by a laugh, over on the further side of the great shadowy kitchen.  And the Lady Marian rippled back into
