I would like to thank my children Kim, Lisa, Lana, and David for their emotional and physical encouragement in writing this book. Its purpose was to share the love of the Father for His children. They realized my strong desire to do this and faithfully supported me in my efforts. The publisher communications were adeptly handled by my granddaughter Aja, with the ever-present and skilled help of her mother, Lisa. The important, and much needed, financial help and emotional support was provided by Kim, Lana, and David.

    Introduction

I once asked God to give me a Nitty-Gritty, where the rubber hits the road formula, for Spiritual Attainment. He answered me through the Holy Spirit. In nine words, the Holy Spirit described the nature of God’s love and grace. Those words were, if He said it, He’ll do it. Believe it! After this, I heard, There’s your nitty-gritty, where the rubber hits the road formula. The Holy Spirit is not only full of wisdom; He is also humorous. I truly believed it was His voice.

The Old Testament Prophets described God to His people as being a God who would be true to His word and that He doesn’t change. When He told people they would be blessed, they were so. When He told them they would be cursed, they were so. Their days of manna in the desert or exile in other nations were proof of this. My message stating, If He said it, He’ll do it, believe it, was proof of God’s unchanging nature. He is truly the same yesterday, today, and forever. I liked this short answer because it came straight to the point, nitty-gritty style.

In the approximate time period from the 1970s and up until the present time, I would periodically hear what I believed to be the Holy Spirit’s voice. It sounded audible, but instead of hearing with my ears, I seemed to hear with my heart. It was as if the information was being downloaded to me, like to a computer. When the word I was stated in a message, I felt like it referenced the Heavenly Father or Jesus. I would hear the word we if it came from the Angelic Realm.

In some of the messages, I would feel the strong presence of Jesus, seemingly comforting me or instructing me about something. One such message was: all these things shall pass away and seem as nothing. This came when I was having a particularly difficult time in my life. The messages were always given in a loving, non-judgmental tone. They were strengthening, encouraging, comforting, supportive, compassionate, understanding, uplifting, and at times prophetic. Sometimes they seemed to be a little somber and, at other times, joyful and exhilarating. Sometimes the words were pronounced in Biblical style language such as Thy, Thou, Thee, Didst, Hadst, Nigh, Comest, etc. I have no explanation for this except perhaps; Holy Spirit preferred a little diversity in wording style to keep things interesting.

I know that many others have heard the same information given to me, just worded or expressed differently. God wants all of His children to have access to crucial information for knowing him and understanding His plan for their destiny, regardless of the delivery style. This became clear to me when I heard in one message; all will go according to my plan. It seemed to me He meant the world plan, as well as His plan, for His children.

Regardless of various delivery styles, the messages were all precious to me. I consider them my gems of wisdom. Some of them sounded like they came straight from the Bible, like the very first one that I heard, which can be found in Psalms. As I was waking up one morning, I heard: Peace! Be still and know that I am God. That was the first message of many to come. I think the Biblical-sounding messages were meant to remind me of God’s words found in the scriptures. I said before, the way I heard them was the way I wrote them down. I guess God has the right to give His words in whatever style He chooses. Some of the messages had somewhat of a militant tone; here are four examples:

    A. Be a soldier in our army

    B. Troops forge ahead

    C. Come and join the conquerors

    D. God is the righteous General of the army of righteousness, and the gates of hell cannot prevail against Him.

Jesus told His followers that the gates of hell would not prevail against His Church. I think of God’s army when I hear the song Onward Christian Soldiers. In other words, forge ahead like the message in the letter B states.

The messages would come at various times; I could just be waking up, driving my car, doing housework, or just sitting and resting. As they came to me, I would hurriedly look for something to write on. If I couldn’t find a tablet, I would grab an old receipt, or a bill lying around, or, at times, just a napkin, anything that was handy. If I happened to be driving my car, I would grab my checkbook or perhaps an old paper bag that I hadn’t thrown away. I needed to hurry while I still had the words fresh in my mind. Some messages were lost when I waited too long to get them written on something. I sometimes remembered in part, but I didn’t want to give partial messages. I know this was not an organized procedure, and I kept intending to get away from this haphazard method and journal the information written on scrap bits of paper. I was waiting to get more time. I worked a full-time job for many years. My husband and I had four children, and with all that goes with raising a family, I never seemed to find the time or energy to journal my messages the correct way. A seemingly endless list of things to do was always demanding my time and attention. Since I didn’t journal the messages as soon as I received them, the paper’s scraps increased; I always told myself I would get caught up. I put them all in a paper box for intentional future journaling.

As the years passed, the children grew up, and in 1996 on the 22nd day of April, my husband passed away due to stomach cancer at the age of sixty-four. I then removed the messages from the cardboard box and placed them into a container that looked like a pirate’s chest. I liked this box because I thought of my gems of wisdom as my treasure. They were just as precious to me as I am sure
