    Dedication

To William, Jackie and Gladys, whose help, dedication and testimony have contributed to the completion of this book, and to the great cloud of witnesses without whom there would have been nothing to say.

    Foreword

I didn’t write this book – in the deeper sense at least. To explain, the information given through me came straight from the Spirit Realm, some from spirits known to us personally. Eventually I found myself in communication with the Highest of All, and so it continues to this day.

It isn’t a case of me seeing things and others having to take my word for it; those who sit with me recognise the faces of their loved ones superimposed upon mine, and are able to have conversation with them, sometimes supplying them with information that I couldn’t possibly have known. When I am sitting in ‘trance’, I am always aware of what is going on around me. I am not in a deep sleep, but fully conscious and aware of what the souls are saying when they speak through me. So in my case it isn’t trance in the usual sense of the word, but I don’t know of any other that adequately describes what is happening.

When it all began, I could scarcely believe it myself, but the evidence was accumulating before us. When I sit in trance, not only with my friends William, Jackie and Gladys, but sometimes with others who also see their loved ones’ faces appearing over mine, the souls who have come through from the Spirit Realm have confirmed to me what I have always understood, namely, that they come to us out of love and concern, and to impress upon us the fact that they are not dead. On the contrary, they are more alive than ever.

In one earlier trance session, an angel appeared, whom we recognised to be the Archangel Michael. William had seen a serene, strong, handsome face, glowing brightly and superimposed over mine. His right arm was raised, and beams of light were streaming from it like a brandished sword. He confirmed to us his identity as Michael, and informed me that soon I would be working with the Highest of All.

In the course of my previous business life, running my own fashion shop and then a guest house, I was given ample opportunity to meet people and use freely the healing gift of which I had been aware, and had made use of from a very young age. Some months after Michael’s first appearance, the Highest of the High came to us in one of our trance sessions, just as Michael had foretold, and my friends who were witnessing all these events saw his face shining upon mine. This has been happening ever since. Each time I do a trance session, the Lord’s face comes through, and this can happen on a daily basis.

I have been directed by the High Ones to record the events and happenings that we have all witnessed. This book includes a series of vignettes describing how, whilst in trance, I have been made re-enact events in the Gospels mainly relating to the latter days of Jesus’ life on earth. All the while the Lord’s face has been shining on me, as witnessed by the others. I will also describe how the two friends who sit with me have each been healed of Stage 4 cancer.

I realise that some will find all this unbelievable, but the fact is that it’s true, and the evidence is there for those who seek it. Jesus taught, Ask, and it will be given to you; search and you will find; knock and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks the door will be opened. (Matthew 7, 7-8)Jesus has told me that I am going to do great work in his Name, and after the experiences that I have written about here I have to believe him.

I write as a Christian, and do feel blessed that Jesus is working with me in this way. It is with some reluctance that have offered this book for publication, as I am a very private person, and the last thing that I wish for myself is any kind of recognition, but I feel compelled to be obedient to Jesus. It’s not easy for me, as I am only too aware that some of my fellow-Christians do not believe in the supernatural as occurring now, but only as having been manifested two thousand years ago in the Apostolic Age. But there are many other Christians, including my friend William, an Episcopal minister, who do believe that God, in and as Jesus, continues the same kind of miraculous works that are recorded in the Scriptures, and are willing to testify to their own experiences.

William and Jackie are witnesses to the fact that when sitting with me, they consistently see the face of Jesus superimposed upon mine and have experienced the working of Jesus’ healing power. As described in my book, on the very day that William was told by his on cologist that he had only two years to live, I held a trance session in which Jesus appeared and spoke through me, assuring him that he was healed. I want to say a big thank you to William and Jackie for help in preparing the transcriptions of the trances and typing the manuscript, and William’s help in choosing the Scripture quotations and references.

As I was completing this foreword, I was uplifted to read that no less a person than The Most Reverend Justin Welby, Archbishop of Canterbury and head of the Anglican Communion, prays in tongues at the start of every day, and seeks words of knowledge and prophecy from other believers. These, he affirms, are gifts of the Holy Spirit. As St Paul writes: For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit… and to another the effecting of miracles, and to another prophecy, and to another the distinguishing of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. (1 Corinthians 8, 8 & 10 NASV) I do not believe that Paul was writing only of what would be right and proper for his own time, but of what is meant to be the experience of Christians in every generation, and in so believing I am far from being alone.

    Chapter One

    WE ARE NOT ALONE

Indeed, we are not alone, either in this world or in the vastness of the material universe! But often it feels as though we are, especially when we lose a loved one – a mother, a father, a child. A loss like this can have devastating consequences, and it’s not at all helpful when well-meaning friends or family – even some members of the clergy – offer the familiar platitude that our departed loved ones are living on in our memories. I realise they are only trying to comfort us, but if this is the only sense in which we could live on, this is really to imply that at death we cease to exist, except as memories stored up in the brains of others who knew us. But they themselves will die one day, and with them their memories, so that eventually every direct trace of us will be gone forever.

I don’t find this any comfort at all. Though always believing in a Higher Power, I also had the nagging fear that there might be a cruel streak in God if children, especially, were allowed to die and cease in any way to exist. How is a human being supposed to go on living after such an experience? This is how some come to reject God. For others, however, it marks the beginning of a search for God.

There is a wealth of evidence that the soul– our essential self – lives on. Some cultures today, like many in the past, are rooted in the conviction that the soul does live on. Why is it that so many in our Western culture refuse to believe that we have an eternal soul and that God is its source and guarantor? Perhaps it’s because of the attitude that tends to prevail in our universities, in the media and among the chattering classes in general, that if you believe in God, you can’t possibly be a terribly bright person. My daughter attends university near our home in Scotland, and sometimes comes home angry because one of her tutors peppers his lectures with the gratuitous comment that of course we all know there is no God. He says this in a supercilious way that leaves no room for any challenge or discussion. An attitude like this intimidates into silence those who do believe in God, and offers no encouragement to those who would be open to the possibility of God’s existence.

Our souls – our essential selves – do live on. Of this I am convinced. Not only do they live on in another dimension, but through the agency of some individuals they are able to make themselves known to us here in this dimension. We are all spiritual beings, expressing ourselves meanwhile in human form. Each of us arrives on this planet endowed with different abilities, enabling us to make our uniquely personal contribution in the world. We also come with a mission that may be self-evident to us right from our earliest days. For some of us, however, it can take a long time to discover – if ever – who we really are, and what we are meant to be doing on this earth.

In my own life-mission I have long been aware of the fact that in the culture I grew up in, and still live in, spiritual abilities and gifts are not always valued for what they are and are frequently viewed with suspicion by the scientific mainstream and – most surprising of all – churches. In my experience, if I could sing or play a musical instrument, the churches would welcome my gifts and make use of them. But, unfortunately, the same isn’t true of spiritual gifts in my part of the world. Is it the word ‘spiritual’ that sometimes invites suspicion and hostility? I understand why some healers refer to what they do as, for example, ‘bio-energy’ healing, Reiki healing or ‘quantum’ healing. In my understanding these are all, basically, the same thing – spiritual healing by the laying on of hands. But for many people it seems only to be acceptable if it’s given a more exotic, intellectual or scientific-sounding name, and locked into must-follow techniques or rituals. In each case, however, the reality is the same, and the presence of the reality is demonstrated when the healing works – as it does.

If I had long felt reticent, for fear of ridicule, regarding my own healing work, little did I know what was coming next! I had been informed by others, as well as through my own direct communications from the other side, that I would be working with the ‘Highest’. How high I had no idea! I find it irksome when some keep on insisting that there is no evidence for the existence of God, for the evidence is all around us, and spiritual healing is one of these.

When the Disciples of Jesus were sent out into the towns and villages to preach the gospel, it wasn’t merely their preaching that spread the message, but the healing they were empowered by him to perform. [He] called the twelve together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal… They departed and went through the villages, bringing the good news and curing diseases everywhere. (Luke 9, 1-2& 6)

God is the source of healing. [E]very perfect gift… is from above, coming down from the Father of lights… (James 1, 17) Healing takes place at soul level, and this is why healing is excellent for people with depression or other mental health issues. So even if a physical healing hasn’t taken place, this doesn’t mean that the healing hasn’t been a success. It has worked on the mental level, curing anxiety and depression, and creating a feeling of calmness and serenity.

Sceptics claim that none of this can be proved scientifically, but what is science if it isn’t the reporting, describing and investigating of observed phenomena? A true scientist doesn’t set out with a pre-determined list of what can or cannot be true or real, but approaches her or his task with an open mind, always with a willingness to be surprised by events, and to come up with a revised awareness of what is possible. This is how the understanding of our universe progressed. To begin with, the earth was thought of as being the centre of the universe. Then, after considerable debate, it was held for a long time that the
