The Holy Exchange - Penny McCoy

    Dedication and

    Giving of Thanks

I dedicate this book to God’s faithful remnant who are called to be leaders in fulfilling the Holy Exchange, as well as to his children who will be the army of God with them. I honor those who will join and fight beside them, as well as those who will come after them.

I am grateful to God the Father who established his faithfulness in the heavens and to God the Son who saves, heals, forgives, and leads us into freedom.

Thank you, God the Holy Spirit, for comforting our hearts, giving truth to our thoughts, sheltering our lives with your peace, and imparting wonderful counsel to all aspects of our destiny.

Thank you, Lord God Almighty, for providing what we need, walking beside us and behind, testing, proving, and motivating our hearts, charting our course, confirming our identity, and exchanging our will for yours.

Thank you, Jesus, for your unequalled love that never fails, your faithfulness that reaches to the skies, and your mercy that is new every morning.

I dedicate this book to the righteousness and justice that are the foundation of your throne, Lord. For who in the heavens and earth or underneath the ground can compare to you? In the council of the holy ones, you are greatly praised. Should we do any less? You are mighty and demand accountability. You deserve to be greatly feared in a good and perfect way as you are more awesome than all who surround you.

I pray this book is a display of God’s greatness and honors the Lord’s mandate to establish God’s kingdom on earth as it is in heaven, and that it does honor to Holy Spirit’s visitation and revelation.

    Introduction

Identity and vision are the two ingredients necessary to fulfilling God-breathed destiny. There is personal vision and there is extended vision incorporated into who we are created to be and what we are created to do and accomplish. No one can do our individual purpose like we can. It is important we remain true to our authentic selves.

People cast off restraint and perish without a vision. The arrogant and rebellious against God and his purpose, plan, and ways fall short and fail in the end. The humble who are dependent on God and his voice, vision, and purpose are the ones who will inherit the land and do mighty exploits for his kingdom in these days.

It is vital each of us know who we are and order life accordingly. Identity has to be secured within the framework of who we truly are. It is imperative we don’t fall prey to the fear of man but strictly hold to the commands and instruction of God for our lives. All else is a crying in the wind and for naught.

I believe these are days of biblical proportion such as we’ve never seen since the crossing of the Red Sea, when God freed his captive children from Pharaoh and his evil army and followers. It is no different than the evil elite of our day that seek to control us with the injustice and lies they perpetrate on us and society.

God has heard the cry of his children. He is on the warpath to save humanity from the hands of the wicked rulers and evil elite forces of our day.

God is on the offensive through his remnant children to take back the ground and do our part in his kingdom come and his will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

I share a portion of my personal vision to be the passageway into the vision of the Holy Exchange God gave me two decades ago. I pray it stirs you to an understanding that God’s purpose for each of you individually has its own importance in his purpose globally.

I believe Passover this year, 2020, is the beginning of the manifestation and fulfillment of the Holy Exchange Vision I received twenty years ago. Immerse your imagination in the hope of the exchange. Discover who you are in the midst of it and enjoy fulfilling your part in it.

Trust me in your times of trouble

    And I will rescue you

And you will give me glory.

    —Psalm 50:15

    Section One

    Preamble—Could It Be?

Before writing this book, I pondered what could be important enough about a vision given to me that would make it worthy of sharing with the world. After all, I am just one person out of the sea of people on earth. I live in relative obscurity nestled beneath the lofty Sierra Mountains, in a valley with a river running through it. I am not important to the learned and scholared nor do I hold a significant place in the world of authors.

I wondered some more as I picked up my Bible and it opened to Obadiah. I wondered why such a little book was in the Bible for the world and universe to ponder. What qualified it to have a place in the greatest of books ever written. After all, it only has one and a half pages. Then I read the first sentence, "This is the vision the Sovereign Lord revealed to Obadiah concerning the land of Edom."

The Spirit of God tugged my heart and said, Read on.

I did. I discovered a nugget in the last title heading that gave me peace and assured me that the vision he gave me is worthy of sharing. The final heading read, Edom destroyed, Israel restored. I read on. The day is near when I, the Lord, will judge the godless nations! As you have done to Israel, so it will be done to you. All your evil deeds will fall back on your own heads. Just as you swallowed up my people on my holy mountain, so you and the surrounding nations will swallow the punishment I pour out on you. Yes, you nations will drink and stagger and disappear from history, as though you had never even existed.

Obadiah’s theme is that Edom is proud over her own security and has gloated over Israel’s devastation by foreign powers. Edom’s participation in the disaster of Israel will bring on God’s wrath. She herself will be destroyed, but Mount Zion and Israel will be delivered, and God’s kingdom will triumph. Edom is a type and shadow of the evil elite of our day. Get ready for battle. It’s time for the Holy Exchange.

This is sobering. After all, the mantra of the day is God is Love, is he not? Yes, he is, but at some point, God has to balance the scale of injustice for his children and creation. This solidified my understanding of God’s love that hates evil and is rooted and grounded in the fear of the Lord. At some point, God has to manifest himself as the sword and buckler for his children. We have been crying for decades, standing in faith for eras, and been obedient through our suffering in hopes for his glory to shine. This is the hour we overcome darkness and its cohorts in a tangible way. It is time for God’s children to be on the offensive and return the victors.

I realized that Obadiah’s vision shared a place of honor in the greatest book of all time and carried a simple theme in its meaning, much like the vision God had given me. It was the old testament version of the Holy Exchange. Wickedness had gotten out of hand. Injustice reigned where justice needed to take the place of the injustice and wickedness of the day. God’s people had an inheritance they had to redeem. God’s purpose had to be restored for his word and promises to flourish to his children. It was time for the wicked to be brought down and the righteous to possess the land. A holy exchange was being called forward in the book of Obadiah. Light was shed in my heart. I was being given a revelation of the vision God gave me. He was calling it forward for God’s remnant and children of today.

It was in that moment that I was reminded of a quote by Mark Twain, a famous American author. He penned, It ain’t those parts of the Bible that I can’t understand that bother me, it is the parts that I do understand.

Sir Isaac Newton, an English scientist, said, No sciences are better attested than the religion of the Bible. Could the Holy Exchange God showed me be a type and shadow of Obadiah’s vision?

Abraham Joshua Heschel, an American theologian said, "All
