About this ebook

Most of our fears, lack of confidence, and stressors, keep us chained for years with fear of no escape. We ask the question of how to change generational curses, traumas and other issues, but the reality is, the change begins with self.

    Introduction

"Well son, I'll tell you, life for me aint' been no crystal stair

It's had tacks in it, and splinters, and boards torn up, and places with no carpet on the floor-bare.

But all the time I'se been a climbin' on, and reachin landin's, and turnin' corners, and sometimes going in the dark where there aint' been no light. So boy, don't you turn back. Don't you set down on the steps cause you finds it's kinder hard.

Don't you fall now, for I'se still going, honey.

I'se still climbin, and life for me aint' been no crystal stair.

    Mother to Son, Langston Hughes

    Preface

If you're here for finger pointing, politely place your book on the nearest end table and walk away. I'm sure the person who will pick it up will be more in need of the message. I'm not here to point fingers, because if I were, I'd still have three pointing back at me.

I had someone ask me one day Hey Takara, how are you? Not realizing, I began to talk about everything in my life but myself. I went into how my marriage was, how my relationship with God was, how my family was doing, one's opinion about my current life, etc. but not once did I simply answer the question of How was Takara doing. During that time I was dying. Not in a sense of physical death, but mentally I was dead. My brain no longer functioned normally, instead, my thoughts were consumed by sorrow and self-guilt. I felt guilty of a situation I had not caused… or had I?
