Instant Single Mom - Monica P Quinones
Praise for Instant Single Mom
I found this book to be very well thought out, heartfelt, & well written. This book captivated my attention from the very beginning. Being a person that has a very short attention span, this book kept me engaged the entire time. I could not put the book down and that is very rare for me. I could feel every emotion & scenario described as if I were there in this very moment. I think this book can be for those thinking about marriage, married, or widowed. With me being a single woman looking to get married there were several lessons I took from this book. I learned a lot from finances to wedding vows. For example, the
true meaning of
For Better or Worse, For Richer or Poorer, In sickness and in Health. This book really put these traditional wedding vows into a real-life perspective. These words now have a brand new meaning to me. I now, more than ever, realize that those vows have much deeper meaning than what is on the surface. These are vows that I need to think about way before ever saying I do. I can honestly say this book left me wanting more. I really hope Monica continues this as a sequel.

I really enjoyed the book Instant Single Mom: This Was Not The Dream. I enjoyed reading the life and love story of Monica and Mike. The story was told so well that you will feel like you’re right there on the journey with them. It’s a great read and couldn’t put it down. This book is great for anyone getting married, thinking of getting married and recently widowed. You will understand what marriage is all about, what it takes, and what it means when you say
for better or for worse and find encouragement to keep moving if you are a Instant Single Mom as a result of being a widow. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it left me wanting more. I can’t wait for volume 2.

This Book Is Dedicated In Loving Memory to my husband Michael Quinones
Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
Acknowledgments
First and foremost, I would like to thank God for giving me the comfort, peace, and strength to keep moving forward one moment at a time along my journey. I would like to thank my husband Michael who encouraged and supported me in all my endeavors. He will forever and always be in my heart.
I would like to acknowledge our children, Devin, Mya, and Myles, who have demonstrated strength and encouragement beyond their years during this challenging period.
Words can’t express how grateful I am for my parents Wilroy and Carolyn Pretlow, my brother and sister-in-law Roy and Brenda (Farmer) Pretlow, my adopted sister LaChelle Farmer, my adopted niece Shantel Farmer, my adoptive mom Linda Farmer, my father-in-law and mother-in-law Ricardo and Sandra Quinones, my sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws Yvonne and Ramone Williams and Joseph and Jasmin Quinones, my brother-in-law David Quinones, my cousin-in-law Jeffery Scott Van Eyken, and mother-in-law Louise Van Eyken. I would also like to acknowledge the Farmer, Pretlow, Quinones, Van Eyken, and Washington families.
I would also like to acknowledge a slew of the countless family members and friends who stepped in to help with the kids, came to visit, sent meals, gift cards, and greeting cards, prayed for us, and performed other special acts of kindness for myself, Mike, and the kids. Your kindness does not go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated.
I would like to acknowledge my Pastor Rev. Dr. Kevin Swann and First Lady Tatrece Swann, as well as our church family at Ivy Baptist Church Newport News, VA. I would also like to acknowledge Pastor George and Mrs. Gloria Spicer, and our church family at Christian Union,VA (the church I attended growing up), Senior Pastors Steven and Holly Furtick and Campus Pastors Chad and Jill Hampton at Elevation Church Lake Norman Campus, Charlotte, NC (where we attended in NC), and Oasis Ministry at Lake Forest Church, Huntersville, NC (where I attended bible study classes in NC). We truly appreciate the love you have shown during Michael’s sickness and since his passing.
I am also very grateful for the support of Amanda and Mike Sellers, Candice Wilson, Ayana and Methuselah Dixon, Markesha and Rick Farmer Parker, Toya Critchlow, Alecia and James Foulke, and Liz and Ed Vargas, who assisted with our kids and/or provided us with a place to stay when Mike and I or the kids and I traveled.
I am equally thankful for ALL of our prayer warriors. I would have to write a completely separate book to name each and every one of you. We love you ALL so very much! Special thanks to the following individuals who have gone above and beyond during my marriage, throughout Michael’s illness, and beyond his transition—Alantha and Harold Gaston, Teresa and Evan Daniels, Janica and Monte Cole, Aleasa Chapman, Aretha and Godfried Yeboah, Lisa and Mark Crump, Tami and Kevin Toms, Monica and Rueben White, Robin and Shawn Overbey, Tabitha and David Person, Mixona and Warren James, Veleka and James Finch, Barbara Smith, Timeka Jordan, Melissa Anderson, Geneva Benjamin, Rachael Ba, Monique and Charles Shier, Major Byrd III, Geneva Henderson, Kenda Claggion, Ericka and Lance Ricks, Aletta Scales, Jessica Edwards, Crystal Sessoms, Valerie and Tony Vasquez, Irreka and Tramarr Knots, Michele Hamm, Mael Brutes, Jill Brewster, Gawaine Hughes, and Janet Legette.
