To my parents, Ghada and Ahmed. Without you, I would not be anything that I am. To my husband, Jimmy. Thanks for supporting me throughout. To my siblings, Ali, Faten, Serene, and Randa. You support me through it all. To my mentors and friends. Thanks for lifting me up when I was going down. To all the physicians out there. Thank you for all the scarifies and hard work you put in every day. Very few professions can work 80 hours a week and still smile.

About the Author
Introduction
I graduated college at 20 years old and was the first woman in my family to graduate college. I was the youngest in my class to graduate medical school and finished my internal medicine residency in two years instead of three years. I represent the less than 15 percent of female cardiologists out there. In addition to English, I speak Arabic and French fluently.
I was constantly stressed and working so much that it affected my health significantly. I almost died from an asthma attack and was dehydrated while I was on call, and my colleagues had to carry me on the catheterization lab gurney to the emergency room. I love cardiology, but the job was not good for me.
Because of this, I am now an international speaker, fashionista, and media personality educating women about heart disease and prevention. Living in my purpose has allowed me to use what I’m passionate about to make a difference in the lives of women. You deserve a healthier lifestyle and to feel good about yourself.
Because 80 percent of heart attacks and strokes can be prevented by lifestyle changes, it is imperative that you learn about your and your loved ones’ risks. As a cardiologist, I try to educate my patients in every office visit, but because of time constraints, I cannot tell them about everything, and hence the birth of this book. If I help you prevent your risk of heart disease, or catch someone’s chest pain before a heart attack, or help your friend quit smoking, or teach you to start implementing healthy lifestyle choices, then I have accomplished my goal.
