My Only Son
Melinda Clark
The Second Generation
This book is dedicated to my loving son, Emanuel Johnson, who is greatly missed, by his mother, his wife, and especially his only son! I started a book before my son’s passing; he didn’t believe I would finish it, but I did. Now I’m on my second and I will finish my story, that only I can tell. Since I can’t get any answers from his doctor/surgeon, I will just have to put my thoughts on paper, and relieve all my grief and all my anxiety, and maybe this will help someone else going through the same scenario of losing their only child. This is the worst pain a parent can feel, no one can say or do anything to make the pain go away, late night crying, morning cries, and just thinking of the good times you all had together, and hearing him call you mama.
I will never hear that again, and that pain is so intense, but I know from being a Christian that God doesn’t make mistakes! He’s a perfect God and we’re not, we can’t heal the blind, or make the rain or snow, but while here on earth, we do the best we can, because there will come a time, when we all must depart this land.
So, when I look back at all the people he’s helped, and what he’s accomplished in his short-lived life of 36 years, my heart gets heavy, and I can’t stop the tears. All I can say is thank you for giving me my Only Son. All the money in this universe will not bring him back to me. And even though God wanted his soul, I wanted his body and flesh to be here with me, so that I could hug and touch him when I wanted to, or call him on the phone and say, Hey, son, how are you doing?
But I can’t do that anymore.
Sometimes I wish I could turn back the hands of time, but I can’t. Our life moves on. I have the joy of knowing that this young man
