    DEDICATION

I dedicate this book to my lovely wife, Thelma, whose encouragement and guidance made it possible for me to do this book. Also, I would like to dedicate this book to my parents, Jeanette Smith and Rev. W. Pierce Smith, whose wisdom, prayer life and guidance, helped me to get where I am. Last but not least, I thank God for my children Cheri, Dawn and Pierce II who also have been an inspiration and blessing to Thelma and I.

    PREFACE

Years ago, though I believed in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, I didn’t understand Scriptures like Matthew 6:33 But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. I believe the reason I did not understand this was because Jesus was telling me to seek the Kingdom of God first when I was always taught to seek Jesus first. So, naturally, with my inquisitive mind, I wanted to know why Jesus was telling me to seek His Kingdom first and not Him? Then in Matthew 4:23, it said, "And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. So, I began to wonder, Why would Jesus preach the gospel of the Kingdom if it wasn’t important?"

Then one day, I heard the late Dr. Myles Munroe teach on the Kingdom of God. In fact, I downloaded two of his books to my iPad. One was called "Rediscovering the Kingdom¹ and the second was Kingdom Principles: Preparing for Kingdom Experience and Expansion."² I became so hungry for understanding God’s Kingdom that I did a study on my own, listening to anyone I could find about the Kingdom of God. The more I studied the subject; the clearer things began to appear to me, little by little, as it related to salvation and the subject of God’s wonderful grace towards mankind. This book is a small compilation of some things that I have found.

Jesus challenged the norm of His days, and ultimately, was crucified for it. Yet, what Jesus was preaching, and teaching was what God, the Father, was saying and doing. The religious leaders of Jesus’ days did not fully understand the Old Testament writings either and, therefore, tried to stick with the old way of looking at things. They did not understand that the Old Testament was actually pointing to Jesus Christ. They did not understand that what they were taught was simply to hold them until Christ comes. They did not understand the mystery that the apostle Paul stated in Romans.

Romans 3:19, 20 (NLT), Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. 20 For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are.

The religious leaders of Jesus’ days did not understand Galatians 3:10, 11 (NLT) which says, But those who depend on the law to make them right with God are under His curse, for the Scriptures say, Cursed is everyone who does
