Gertrude Manu Decker

I am Gertrude Manu, a born again Christian married with three children. I am a minister of the gospel, over two decades the Lord has used me to preach and teach His word to many that are depressed, broken hearted, those that are in bondage, and to heal the sick by His grace. Over the years in ministry I have faced a lot of challenges, that sometimes compelled me to have some negative thoughts but the Lord has always proved Himself faithful by making me understand that He is God Alone and He is closer than what we think of . This has moved me to write to as many in His vineyard who might be facing challenges in their Christian race or ministry to be encouraged to know that our God is a rewarder of the faithful and He will surely reward us in due season.      This is my third book, my first book is entitled you can make it through the storms, my second book is also entitled when the glory comes, and here is my third book entitled your labour shall not be in vain . My books are not totally fiction many of the messages are out of experience and they have touched many lives. God has called me in this time to encourage the weak and those that are weary. I minister both in churches and conferences. I live in Italy with my family.

    Dedication

This book is dedicated to God Almighty, to my Lord Jesus Christ who loved me so much and laid His life down for me, and to my senior partner- The Sweet Holy Spirit, who has been with me all these years as my shield and my buckler.

    Foreword

Mama Getty began her book- You can make it through the storms, by encouraging believers that, God is interested in their advancement. She buttressed her point by defining vividly the Hebrew word, shalom that David used in Psalm 35:27. Sister Getty went on to caution believers that certain negative attitudes can hinder them from attaining that shalom (advancement). She mentioned, Trails and Temptation, Unforgiveness, Pride, Disappointment, Persecutions, Weights, and Distractions.

Mama Getty further mentioned certain positive attitudes that will propel people to make it through the storms. They are determination, perseverance, holiness, unity, the Divine presence, and constant prayers. The most encouraging chapter was the tenth- The power of God can see you through the storms, so endure. Hence, the believer should rely solely on the power of God, and should also learn to endure in all situations.

Mama Decker concluded her book by saying if believers overcome the negative attitudes and comply with the positive ones, then they will not only be blessed by the Lord, but that they will live peaceful lives. This is not another book on fiction. But it is a book that was birthed from the experiences of somebody who went through the storms of life and overcame them.

Do you want to blessed by the Lord? Do you want to live a peaceful life? Do you want to overcome the storms of life in this present age of economic crisis, meltdown, crunch, etc? Then get a copy of this book. And the assurance is that with the Lord Jesus in your boat, you will not only sail through the storms of life successfully as Mama Getty did, but that you will further smile at them as well. Remain an overcomer through any storm in Jesus’ name!

    Introduction

Looking at the rate evil is advancing today, Christians (believers) may seem to be losing the battle. Hence, the focus on holiness and purity is vanishing. Jesus cautioned about that occurrence. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved (Matthew 24:12-13). Vs 12 we should expect these two things, the abounding of iniquity; though the world always lies in wickedness, yet there are some times in which it may be said, that iniquity doth in a special manner abound. The abating of love; this is the consequence of the former; Because iniquity shall abound the love of many shall wax cold. Understand it in general of true serious godliness, which is all summed up in love; it is too common for professors of religion to grow cool in their profession, when the wicked are hot in their wickedness. Or, it may be understood more particularly of brotherly love. When iniquity abounds, seducing iniquity, persecuting iniquity, this grace commonly waxes cold.

Christians begin to be shy and suspicious one of another, and so love comes to nothing. This gives a melancholy prospect of the times, that there shall be such a great decay of love; but, first, it is of the love of many, not of all. In the worst of times, God has his remnant that hold fast their integrity, and retain their zeal, as in Elijah’s days, when he thought himself left alone. Secondly, this love is grown cold, but not dead. There is life in the root, which will show itself when the winter is past.

Comfort administered in reference to this offence of the cross, for the support of the Lord’s people under it; He that endures to the end, shall be saved. It is comfortable to those who wish well to the cause of Christ in general, that, though many are offended, yet some shall endure to the end. It is comfortable to those who do thus endure to the end, and suffer for their constancy, that they shall be saved. Perseverance wins the crown, through free grace, and shall wear it. They shall be saved. The crown of glory will make amends for all. Choose rather to die at a stake with the persecuted, than to live in a palace with the persecutors.

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved; but for elect’s sake those days shall be shortened (Matthew 24:21-22). When the measure of iniquity is full, then come the troubles. There shall be great tribulation. Great, indeed, when within the city plaque and famine raged, and (worse than either) faction and division, so that every man’s sword was against his fellow; then and there it was that the hands of the pitiful women flayed their own children. Josephus’s History of the wars of the Jews, has in it more tragical passages than perhaps any history whatsoever.

It was a desolation unparalleled, such as was not since the beginning of
