I want to thank God for loving me through my imperfections, showing me that I am more than enough, and allowing me to share that message with other women. I thank God for His love and mercy that He gives me every day. I wouldn’t be able to write this book without Him. Thank you, Lord, I love you!
I want to thank my husband of fifteen years for standing behind me and pushing me further to go beyond what I thought I could do. Thank you for believing in me and for the love and appreciation you show to me every day. Thank you for being a great father to our girls and working hard for our family. I love you!
To my beautiful girls: Makayla and Taylor
You are both beautiful inside and out. Wherever life takes you, remember to stay close to God in whatever you do. Put Him first, and love and respect others no matter what. I love you both, and I am proud God has chosen me to be your mom.
Thank you to my dad for raising me to be a loving and respectful person, and for always being there supporting and encouraging me to believe in myself. Thank you for all your hard work and efforts to make sure your children were raised in a loving home. Thank you for going above and beyond to take care of Mom and being a great Dad and Grandpa. I love you, Dad!
To my Mom, my guardian angel:
Thank you for loving me unconditionally and teaching me to be the strong woman I am today. You’re always on my mind and forever in my heart. I love you, Momma!
You are a precious jewel in God’s eyes and you have much to offer Him. This book will help you relate to the things in your life that hold you back. You can overcome them, and reach for the greatness that God has for you.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
God laid this book on my heart to share with you, and my prayer is that it will help you become the woman God has called you to be; better and more confident than ever before. God loves you! You are destined for greatness!
The LORD their God will save his people on that day as a shepherd saves his flock. They will sparkle in his land like jewels in a crown.
Zechariah 9:16 NIV
Chapter 1
A Diamond
in the Rough
A Diamond in the Rough : This common phrase is used when referring to a person who may have hidden characteristics and potential, but lacks the social sparkle to make them stand out from the crowd. A diamond in the rough may seem ordinary at first glance, but her real beauty as a diamond is only recognized through the chipping and polishing process. In other words, she has fledgling promise, but needs some polishing to be the complete package.
Some of the most precious commodities and jewels in creation are diamonds. They are rare, beautiful, and highly treasured. Man gives them high value; for example, a one carat diamond is worth $4,700 - $9,300. In 2016, the world’s largest recorded blue diamond, an extremely rare gem, known as the Oppenheimer Blue sold for $57.5 million, an all-time high at an auction. There are other rare commodities and gems that fetch high prices: silver, gold, platinum, rubies, sapphires, and others. People place great value on them for their beauty and rarity, but they are nothing when compared to the value God places on you. Oh, how I wish you could see yourself as God sees you. Diamonds are precious to us, but God thinks we are more precious than diamonds. Consider that most people have few and small diamonds acquired throughout their lifetimes, and they protect and cherish their rings and necklaces even if small. God considers you more precious, worth protecting, and thinks you are a jewel in His crown. How awesome is that?!? He made each of us as unique as a diamond with no two alike. God cannot put a price on your worth because you are priceless in His eyes, and money cannot buy your importance and worth to God.
Diamonds are formed in the earth’s mantle and delivered to the surface by deep sources of volcanic eruption. Sometimes we don’t see the rareness in ourselves, and we go through challenges that
