is God’s unmerited favor.
It is kindheartedness from God that we don’t deserve. There is nothing we have not done, nor can ever do to earn this favor. It is a gift from God. Grace is divine assistance given to humans for their restoration or sanctification; a virtue coming from God; a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine favor.

About the Author

I would like to express my gratitude to my parents, who did the best they knew how in raising me. They are responsible for the strong woman I have become today, and they are the reason I have strong and positive values and principals. They helped build my character, self-esteem, and pride. They never stopped believing in me. They taught me to speak up for myself and fight for what I believe. Most importantly, they taught me to trust and lean on God.
I want to thank my sister, Terah Shelton, who talked me through writing this book. She provided support and counsel, and allowed me to express myself.
Thanks to my publishing company, Purposely Created Publishing Group, Tieshena Davis and Susan Morrison, for encouragement and much direction and guidance. Finally, I would like to thank my husband, Guillermo Samuels, who supported me and who has been my rock from the day I met him. If I had a thousand tongues, I couldn’t thank Him enough, my Lord Jesus Christ.

The author Kim Samuels, who I know very well, has always had a desire to help others and give back to the community. She believes attitude is everything!
One of her favorite quotes is from a former football player Lou Holtz, who states, Ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.
Another one of her favorite quotes is by Maya Angelou: I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it.
Kim has always wanted to make a difference and decided to use her writing as an approach to accomplish her desire.
This book, no doubt, could change your life—or help you or someone who has suffered, been abused, or been humiliated. Grace, the main character, has a compelling story to tell. Grace’s strength and unshakeable faith will inspire and encourage you to not give up or concede to some of life’s overwhelming and challenging moments or dark periods. When reading this book, it may evoke all different sorts of emotions—sadness, happiness, hatred, fear, and disappointment—through the many ordeals that Grace had to endure. But through God’s grace and mercy, even when the odds are stacked against you and your problems seem insurmountable, don’t give up. This book is a must read for all of us. Grace’s story provides biblical advice and real-life wisdom when confronted with some of life’s most difficult challenges. It is a true gem to read.
Guillermo Samuels, the author’s husband
img2.jpgPreface
God’s grace is truly amazing. Not only does it provide for our salvation, but it provides a shield and direction, enabling us to live an abundant life in Jesus Christ: And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work
(2 Corinthians 9:8 ESV).
The song Amazing Grace!
says, How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now I’m found; was blind, but now I see.
God’s grace is available to us always, for every problem we face. God’s grace frees us from slavery, sin, guilt, and shame. God’s grace allows us to pursue good works. God’s grace enables us to be all that God intends us to be. God’s grace is amazing indeed. Grace means all your mistakes now serve purpose instead of shame. God’s saving grace is completely His gift to believers, and our ability to accept His saving grace is just another gift from God.
In this book, you will read about Grace and, from her story, learn how life can throw you challenges that are tough to get through. The events that Grace experienced are similar to what most people experience in life, but most people tend to get caught in a web, uncertain how to move forward. At the end of each chapter of events, I share personal reflections that will guide your own thought process of how to handle or get through the rough moments and how you can best equip yourself to deal with life’s major challenges.

Let Me Introduce You to Grace
This story begins with a young girl named Grace, who was very witty, strong willed, compassionate, sensitive, observant, and opinionated; a girl of principle, and a dreamer with a huge imagination. Grace created her make-believe friends to bring her happiness; they were likely her angels. God’s grace spared her life, and His saving was a blessing. The Bible says, Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life
(Psalm 138:7 NIV).
Grace was a peculiar young girl—one who stayed to herself. She was raised with a Christian background and had a relationship with God at a very young age. Grace’s life was full of turmoil, and each day she struggled. She found herself fighting her way out of what she referred to as the lion’s den. Just like Daniel, Grace continued to cry out to her God to protect her and keep her from harm. And just as God did for Daniel, He sent His angel and shut the mouths of the lions. Scripture tells us, My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty
(Daniel 6:22 NIV). Every time Grace found herself slipping and falling on her face, God’s grace and mercy lifted her right back up again.
Grace is the oldest of four children: two boys and two girls. Being the oldest placed a lot of responsibility on her, however, she was always eager to learn, and she tried to set a good example for her siblings. Grace was very vulnerable and naïve to things of the world. Her innocence kept her pure, but she was very inquisitive and asked a lot of questions. Grace’s favorite question was, Why?
Sometimes, her inquisitiveness was misconceived as getting in grown folks’ business, when actually she was concerned mostly about the outcome of grown folks’ decisions, especially when she felt it was going to impact her and her siblings.
On several occasions, Grace would hear her parents in a heated
