Born in Seagoville, Texas, Ken went on to college in Nacogdoches, Texas, and then into the Air Force as an Air Rescue helicopter pilot. Thence back to Texas operating a tree care company, then recalled to the military to fly in Europe and other locations in the USA. After that, he taught science for a while before going to work for a major airline as an instructor. He's always had a love of reading and writing and been walking the Christian Walk for over 40 years. From all that, he writes with experience.

During the development of the manuscript for Finding Your Spiritual Balance in a Religious World: Discover Simple Christianity, the thought occurred to me and was reinforced by those who proofread the manuscript (and since then, those who have read the book) that this would be a good candidate for use in Bible study, Sunday School/Discipleship classes, or home church. Carol Langen, a friend and retired teacher especially encouraged me to make it possible to have materials for a class on the book and has been teaching a Rediscovering Simple Christianity
class using the book and the draft for this study guide. I want to thank all of those individuals: family and friends who not only gave me encouragement for the book, but for expanding it with a workbook and study guide for class or individual study.
