JACKSON TAGGER PIVOTED his wheelchair around to face the open door of the Cessna Caravan plane. He had to know whether he could still do this. After the accident, for months he recuperated, preparing his mind and body for this moment. Soothed by the thrum of the plane’s engine, he slowed his breathing and heartbeats to a relaxed pace.
