To be heroic is to be courageous enough to die for something; to be inspirational is to be crazy enough to live a little.

About the Author
Chapter 1
Six men carried a dark blue casket out of the church and down the steps. Black bangs fell into the eyes of one as tears ran down his cheeks. Two walked with vacant expressions. One with eyes filled with guilt. One sporting a black eye. And one, an older man, known only by four of them.
They carried the box that was much too heavy to just be holding a man with a heart so light and a smile that could lift the spirits of all those around, to the cemetery at the back of the church.
Tears fell as the casket was lowered into the ground. A ground that was too cold for someone whose hugs were so warm. Whose eyes held so much love.
Dirt filled the hole, sealing away their friend. Sealing away their brother. Skin that would never feel the warmth of the summer sun again.
Jin had insisted that Derrick be buried with his glasses and the book he’d been reading. Angel had placed a picture of them from when they were small in the casket with his friend. Ethan made sure the other had been dressed in his favorite outfit, not a stuffy suit. Agatha didn’t know how she could have thanked the three men for making sure Derrick’s funeral and wake went smoothly.
Everyone quietly left the cemetery. Angel with his arm wrapped around a crying Jin. A woman with hazel eyes helped Ethan as he walked with Agatha, crying inconsolably. The older man stayed behind with Andrew. Both stared silently at the marble tombstone marking the nurse’s grave.
Here Lies Derrick McFail
Loving Husband and amazing friend
A heart freely given, a life taken far too soon
I’m going to end this, Lee.
Andrew slowly shifted his form, no longer able to bear owning the face that took his friend’s life.
I know you will.
The older man placed a hand on the other’s shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze.
Andrew knelt down in front of the grave and placed a small porcelain medical cross on the marker’s base. Goodbye.
Chapter 2
Jin sat at the control panel in Lee’s base. He’d been sitting there for the past 72 hours, eyes fixed on the screen before him. The only time he had moved was when he went to the bathroom or to grab a cup of coffee. He hadn’t spoken to anyone since the funeral, and he still continued his vow of silence at he willed himself to live off of caffeine and self-loathing. He’d just finished a cup of coffee when he felt arms wrap around him and lift him out of the chair.
They hell?
He couldn’t yell out; his voice was barely a whisper as he hadn’t used it in quite some time.
You need to get some rest, Jin.
He let out a small grunt as Angel put him over his shoulder. He looked up at the voice that had told him that he needed rest and glared at Ethan. He opened his mouth to protest but stopped when he saw Saga following them with a syringe in hand.
Angel set Jin on their bed and stepped aside for the doctor.
"You haven’t slept in 72 hours,
