About this ebook

"You will only make this journey once.  What kind of journey will it be?"

Is your love for other believers growing?  Is your faith in God a topic of conversation among other believers?  Is God's work you work?  If you can answer "yes" to these questions, you are growing spiritually.  If you answered "no", your road to spiritual growth may be filled with obstacles. Just as our physical lives need nourishment, our spiritual lives need the nourishment provided by Scripture and our fellow believers.  Living as a Christina explores ways to become aware of God's presence and direction in every step on our journey of life. The Journey Study Series is based on Billy Graham's best-selling book The journey, the culmination of lifetime of spiritual insight and ministry experience.  Each chapter explores the joys, triumphs, and conflicts we all encounter on our journey through life.
  • Use for self-study or shared experiences in small groups
  • six weeks of lessons
  • sidebars offer a scriptural journey through God's word
  • questions for starting group discussions
  • insight-filled scripture passages to study
Each chapter includes thought-provoking questions, commentary, Scriptures, and insights to help you on life's journey.  Each lesson teaches the secret of walking with God on life's path.  Understanding God's truths will make life's journey easier and let Him fulfill His promise to lead you home.

Author

Billy Graham

Billy Graham (1918–2018), world-renowned preacher, evangelist, and author, delivered the Gospel message to more people face-to-face than anyone in history and ministered on every continent of the world in almost 200 countries and territories. His ministry extended far beyond stadiums and arenas, utilizing radio, television, film, print media, wireless communications, and thirty-three books, all that still carry the Good News of God's redemptive love for mankind. Engraved on a simple fieldstone in the Memorial Prayer Garden where he is buried at the Billy Graham Library in Charlotte, North Carolina, these words exemplify how the man and the minister wished to be remembered: "Preacher of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ."

    5:15

Babies are interesting. They have little concern for the needs of others, demand their own way, interrupt at will, and are more than happy to let you know when things aren’t going their way. We can deal with babies because we realize that their condition is temporary. They grow and mature. Before long, their schedules conform to our schedules. They eat the same food we eat. They can verbalize their concerns rather than simply crying about them.

The same can be said about spiritual babies. Their condition immediately following spiritual rebirth is temporary—we hope! But just like physical maturity, spiritual maturity is a lifelong process that involves continual change. The idea is to grow more mature every day. That doesn’t happen in the lives of many believers. Why?

    REWIND

What keeps you from growing spiritually?

—— I’m not interested in growing. I just want to go to heaven when I die.

—— I’m too distracted by other things.

    —— I’m too busy.

—— Today, I am growing because:

We need to grow in many areas of life. If we don’t grow in our knowledge of our professions, we suffer the consequences. If we don’t grow in our understanding of what it means to be a parent, we suffer the consequences. Likewise, if we don’t grow in our spiritual lives, we suffer the consequences.
