About this ebook

Dulce Santiago always practiced one thing... 'pretend until you make it.' She knew she would be successful and happy because she pretended to be those things every day of her life. So, when her best friend, Ginny Porter, leaves for Alaska and disappears, Dulce is positive that she needs to bring the one person who understands her back to the sunshine state of Arizona – not having your BFF in your life sucked. What she didn't expect was to be abducted from the airport.
As the preacher of the Blood Angels MC, Zephyr Buros, always found it easier to meddle in his brothers' emotions and lives than to concern himself with his own. After all, he needed to keep calm so he could block out everyone. So, when Dulce Santiago waltzed into his life, Zephyr is pretty sure the tiny spitfire is going to be the death of him.

Ulric Konigson had been chased often enough by women or their mates to know that he was the ideal of visual perfection. How often had he been called an angel… even before he became a member of the Blood Angels? So, how was he to know if his mate wanted him or the perfection? It was easier to let the others have her and make sure she was happy from a distance, right?

Kwon Hyon was a wolf of many talents. When Elias, the prez of the Blood Angels MC, saved his ass during a deal gone wrong, Kwon knew it was time to use his gifts to help the vampire find the one thing he'd never been able to get his hands on. After all, giving the male the Haeream and bringing him prosperity and protection was more than worth his sorry life. But what happens when the original thief comes looking for it and Kwon has something more valuable to protect – his new family.

Can three males tame a curvy, outspoken Hispanic goddess in time to keep her safe? Or will the only answer be to send her back to her previous life?

Coming from a family of military members, S.E. Isaac learned at an early age what it meant to travel. She spent six years of her childhood in Germany and the remainder in Missouri, USA. She became a young mother at the age of sixteen and learned what determination, motivation, and inspiration could do for one’s life. Life hasn’t always granted her the happiness, which she desired, but she never quit treading water. You have to fight for what you want in life. Writing has always been an outlet for her, even at the young age of eight, which is when she started writing poetry and short stories. It has always been a dream to have her work published and to have readers connect with her characters. She believes that is every writer’s dream — to have their work truly read. Connect with S.E. CHAPTER ONE

    DULCE

Once Upon a time, I had a best friend, I whispered to myself as the plane finally bumped down on the pavement in Bettles, Alaska. And if she’s still alive, I’m going to kill her for making me come out here.

Five years ago, my best friend and roommate, Ginny Porter, had accepted a job and moved to Alaska. In the beginning there were a few sporadic emails and promises to send more information, but ultimately… a few days led to weeks, then the weeks faded into months, and soon years had passed with no contact. In fact, the last time I had actually spoken to my friend was a poorly connected phone call when her plane had landed in Anchorage.

In the beginning, my worry built. Ginny was more than a best friend, she was the sister of my heart, and it had killed me when she decided to accept the job in Alaska. However, I couldn’t fault her for it. The money was amazing and it wasn’t like she had family or a man to keep her in Arizona like I’d had at the time.

Even so, at first it grated that she’d left and barely contacted me. She’d said she was busy getting the office back in order – Ginny was an organizing queen. However, fear seeped in when she didn’t call me on my birthday that first year. When two women were as close as we’d been… there was no way she wouldn’t call on my birthday.

I’d immediately called the police and tried to file a missing person’s report but when they realized she’d left for a new job in a different state and that we’d been roommates, the cops gave me a side-eye and told me there was nothing they could do. They seriously thought Ginny ran from a crazy roommate and that I was some sort of stalker.

Don’t get me wrong, I understood their point of view but seriously, what if she was hurt or kidnapped? Ginny was a gorgeous woman in the middle of a state known for mountain men. I read. I knew that men alone on a mountain could go a little stir crazy. Hell, some of the research I’d done was darn scary.

However, my reference to the old movie about the seven brothers kidnapping women to make their brides… yeah, it didn’t help my case.

Time had marched on and I lost myself in work, family gatherings, and a few failed relationships. It wasn’t until my mother passed that I stopped long enough to realize how much I missed and needed my best friend.

So, I tried to find the old emails from Ginny. Searched for anything with her forwarding address. Googled Alaska in twenty million different ways in hopes of finding the town to which she’d moved. All of it with no success. So, once again I’d approached the police who once again sent me on my way with a pat on the head and grumbles behind my back.

Which was why, something like five years after she left Phoenix, I took matters into my own hands. If the police wouldn’t help me check on Ginny and make sure she was okay, then I would do it myself. So, taking the few days of vacation I had left, I’d boarded a plane for Alaska. Now I was retracing Ginny’s steps. Unfortunately, I didn’t know the name of the company she’d taken the job with or the town where she was supposed to be living. The names of both were strange and Ginny had promised me she’d send me her address as soon as she was settled, so I hadn’t thought I’d needed to memorize them.

I sighed as I hefted my backpack and looked around the airport. Bettles, Alaska – the last place I could remember from Ginny’s itinerary – was everything and nothing like I expected.

Excuse me, I called out to the first person I saw and then another as I tried to catch someone who could answer some questions.

Yo! I snapped and grabbed the next man who passed.

My hand throbbed at the impact on the solid muscle underneath his long-sleeved t-shirt. His bicep was all muscle which both sent fear and lust through me.

Excuse me, sir, I mumbled as I tilted my head back and looked up into a face that would make angels weep.

How can I help, Dumpling? His deep voice rolled over me like something hot and sticky and thoughts of him licking me clean had me clenching my thighs together.

His lips curved up in a knowing smile.

Excuse me? Are you making fun of my size? I snapped and pulled my hand free of his arm.

He immediately took hold of my hand and raised it to his lips.

Of course not, he husked as he pressed a kiss to the palm of my hand. We both groaned and he leaned in so his mouth was right next to my ear. It’s a reference to how sweet you are.

Ulric! A deep voice bellowed from across the airport. He’s here!

Fucking Zephyr, he growled as he straightened.

I watched him wave at another man who was even taller than the man beside me. They must grow them large in Alaska, I thought hazily as a traveler approached the other man. He was a tall Asian with muscles filling out his t-shirt. Thick thighs stretched the material of his jeans to the point I expected them to burst open.

Come, Dumpling, let’s greet my guest and then we’ll help you. The man I now knew as Ulric, slid my hand into the crook of his arm and led me across the building.

Thoughts raced through my mind but nothing seemed to stick. ‘Was this how Ginny disappeared?’ I wondered.

Ginny? Ulric stopped in front of his friends and looked down at me.

I said that out loud, didn’t I? I asked as I looked between Ulric and the other two men.

The Asian man’s nostrils flared and a growl rumbled in his chest as my gaze roamed over the three men.

The second man wore what I now recognized as a motorcycle cut. I could just make out a few patches on his vest. And, he… Ulric called him Zephyr… Zephyr’s eyes were locked onto me as emotion swam in his gaze.

Yes, you did, Dumpling? What do you know of Ginny?

Ginny is my best friend – I gulped down my nerves and snatched my hand from him – and if you’ve done anything to harm her, I’ll… I’ll...

"You’ll what, Moró?" I turned to find Zephyr several steps closer than before.

"Te arrancaré los testículos y se los daré a los pájaros," I threatened his manly bits in Spanish. I always reverted back to Spanish when stressed which pissed me off even more. I threw up my hands and crossed my arms across my chest as I glared at the three men.

    Fucking sexy, the Asian rasped.

Excuse me? My head whipped around to look at him only to snap back in the other direction when I felt someone move in behind me.

He said you were sexy and I have to agree, Dumpling.

    Que? I gaped at them.

They chuckled and Ulric turned to look at Zephyr. Should we take her back to town with us? She’s looking for Ginny…

She’s coming with me, the Asian growled and moved forward to heft me onto his shoulder.

Shock filled me and I didn’t even think to react until we were all seated in a black SUV and rumbling down a road which quickly left Bettles behind.

"Madre de Dios. ¿Por qué no pensé antes de actuar?" I groaned and slammed my head against the back of the seat.

No god here. The Asian looked at me with hunger. "But you won’t need him. I’ve got you now, nae sarang."

    CHAPTER TWO

    ZEPHYR

The woman sat wedged between Kwon and me. She kept looking back and forth between us. She opened her mouth several times but shut it just as fast. Her fingers played with the bottom of her jacket.

You need to wear this? Kwon whispered then reached across her to buckle her seatbelt.

Get your hand off my ass! I growled at him. The woman startled at my voice. Sorry, sweets.

It’s – She cleared her throat. It’s okay.

You’ll have to forgive their manners, Ulric said, glancing in the rear-view mirror before looking back at the road. I can assure you, you’re the first woman Kwon has thrown over his shoulder and taken from an airport.

    Fuck off, Kwon growled.

Kwon was usually pretty passive around women. In fact, I teased him about how he must be gay because I never saw him with a woman. There were tons of women that hung around the clubhouse and he never batted an eyelash at any of them. The wolf inside Kwon had become unleashed at just the sight of this woman. This woman was more than just some random woman he’d picked up for a night of fun.

Hell. Even I had sensed something special in the woman. The word mine damn near came out my mouth, when I had inhaled her scent. The sight of her and the sound of her voice had made it damn near impossible to keep me from sinking my teeth into the side of her neck and claiming her for all to see… But I knew better. A monster like me didn’t deserve to find my mate.

There’s a lady in the car, Kwon, I warned. Both Kwon and Ulric snorted. Ulric glanced at me in the rear-view mirror long enough to roll his eyes at me. What? She’s a lady.

Since when were you a fucking saint? Ulric grumbled.

The SUV slid on the ice. The woman screamed and buried her face into my coat. Her fingers gripped my jacket for dear life.

"Dios mío, por favor ayúdame," she repeated over and over.

I don’t think you’ll find your god in this vehicle, Ulric teased, making Kwon and me laugh.

The woman ignored all of us and continued with her soft prayer as we continued down the road. She
