About this ebook

En, a young man, lives in a town known as Eden. Here, he is an established assassin who targets only one thing - psychics. Even though the twisted world he lives in may be filled with poverty, corruption and violence, he does not do it for the money or the love of killing. He is instead looking for someone, or something. He sits there rubbing his palms. Across the room, with our faces towards each other. The reflection of the gold rings on both his hands would periodically come into contact with my eyes, briefly blinding my vision. His large, obese body hangs off the edges of the chair, its structure crying in agony with every movement he makes. His smile resembling that of a comical character with the edges of his mouth just about touching his temples. His two bodyguards standing at his sides, exactly parallel to the remnants of hair on his head. He giggles.

So ughh, Mr. En is it? he asked.

I nod. His voice was unnaturally high-pitched. One could have assumed it would be painful for him to talk, but he seemed confident, almost ecstatic to speak.

I’m sorry, we came in so fast I forgot to tell you my name. he said. My name is Solomon Beel, and these men to both my left and right are my essential bodyguards. Their names are unimportant.

I look at the men. They possessed similar features - height, muscle mass and skin color. Their attire were also matched - black suit, pants, shoes and shades. Like statues, they stood completely still, with both their hands behind their backs. I look at Solomon.

Okay. I said. What is the details of the request?

Solomon giggles once again whilst rocking back and forth in the chair. He begins rubbing his hands faster for a short moment, then slows to a near stop.

There’s this man. said Solomon. I want him dead. He’s the leader of a rouge psychic group, and they cause me a lot of pain.

Tell me everything I need to know, be specific. I said.

His name is Michael Arch. said Solomon. He runs a rouge psychic faction on the other side of town that terrorizes my peers and me. We only try to live our daily lives as best as possible, but he won’t allow it. So please I ask you, kill him?

I had told him to be specific, not beg for help. Sympathy is often used to misdirect one’s true motives. Solomon smiled as though only he benefited from Michael’s death. It was a smile I was more familiar with than I needed to be. Maybe he did possess an ulterior motive, though I could only speculate. Regardless, there was also a possibility that I would gain information that I needed, to fulfill my own ulterior motives.

Okay. I said. I’ll accept your request. I will take as long as I need, but I will get it done.

Solomon’s smile slowly dissolves away. He seemed unamused at what I had said.

So ughh, he said nervously, does that mean that you can’t kill him right away?

A silence echoed throughout the room for a short moment.

That does not matter. I said. "All you need to know is that
