The book you now hold in your hands is an orchestra of thought, a composition reflecting the integrative biospiritual odyssey of healing. Yet, in many ways, it is a simple book – a book of human hope, scientific progress, spiritual faith, and ultimately, inspired love. For, in the deepest recesses of our being – that is our nature. The sooner we return to the truth of this promise, the sooner we understand what healing truly means.

Human healing is a vast and complex topic. However, the hope to heal in any way, addresses a deeper yearning. It is not simply to feel better or to eradicate an illness. It is a visceral awareness of the human condition, and the desire to find what we know is possible as a human being. It is a desire to reunite with the state of being whole, from which healing can blossom.

When we speak of healing in the modern day, much of our faith to heal lies in science. This faith is not totally misplaced, for science achieves marvelous things. Science, however, remains limited in many ways in its capacity to provide healing. Why? Science does not yet fully grasp the spiritual nature of reality, the biospiritual spectrum inherent in life, or the energetic nature of the human experience. We shall explore these ideas intimately.

When science fails in healing, for many, faith turns to spiritual pursuits. When it does, one discovers there are many healing wisdoms found in our longstanding spiritual traditions. Importantly, one discovers that the greatest force of healing ever known lies in the conscious human being. So, as a conscious being, the power to heal profoundly lies within you.

If you are anything like me, hope and faith have visited at the strangest moments in life. This may even be what draws you to read this book. However, hope and faith visit not only in times of crisis; they live constantly within us and serve to provide resilience, strength, and transformation in times of well-being. You may be seeking physical or psychological healing. Perhaps you are interested in helping others in their healing journey? Or, you may be simply curious to learn. All are appropriate points of departure.

Yet, I must caution you that we will frankly discuss many spiritual concepts, with no unwarranted reserve. This will be natural for many of you, but perhaps uncomfortable for others. I encourage you to simply open your mind and your heart – for it will all make sense if you give things a chance to sink in. Whether you are religious, spiritual, agnostic, or atheistic – it is of limited significance. Your spiritual and energetic nature is real and available to you, however you see yourself – as long as you are willing to open up, acknowledge love as relevant, and assume your spiritual worth. The intent is to help build a stronger relationship between your conscious self, your spiritual potential, and your manifest life.

In the upcoming pages, we will unite from our diverse paths and explore the intimate relationship between our spiritual nature, our energetic nature, and the healing potential they provide. We will then turn attention to new tools that are beyond even familiar energy healing – the world of Quantum DNA. Together, we will walk into the paradigm of a whole new world.

Spirit, Energy, and Consciousness

In the process of exploring Energy Medicine – one comes to appreciate the significance of the concept that all life is energy. Since the days of Einstein, we have become familiar with this equally scientific and mystical concept. It is, however, extremely important to the new healing paradigm. It becomes the portal through which human beings may access a new understanding of healing potential that might first appear as too mystical to be real.

It is true that all life – including our selves as manifested human beings – is composed of energy. This includes not only our physical bodies, but also our emotions and thoughts, and the energy bodies in which they reside. However, understanding life as energy is just a beginning. We must also begin to understand consciousness – and the role it plays in directing energy and healing.

We are all conscious beings who have the ability to manage and regulate energy. Deep inside our familiar mental and emotional nature, there exists an expanded consciousness, of which we are both a communal and unique part. Our spiritual nature resides there and can govern the way energy takes form in our lives when we better understand this reality. From a place of spiritual consciousness, we are able to access a more responsible, loving, and powerful role in directing the energy we manifest in the world of form – better known as my life.

We can come to view our life to emanate through a biospiritual continuum. That is, we are conscious beings of a spiritual nature, who have been born into an energy-based world of form. As human beings, we are not simply physical bodies in a mechanical world. We are conscious beings who live through the venue of many different bodies, which are energy-based in nature. Through this lens, we can truly begin to understand and allow the power of consciousness, energy, and spiritual grace to enter our lives.

To know yourself as a spiritual being, with an incredible power to heal from within, is no small feat! This understanding provides access to a biospiritual transformation of amazing potential. Humanity is maturing, and the time has arrived to understand that consciousness, energy, and our spiritual nature hold the key to unlock the way forward for so much of what ails us. In our laboratories, the essential spiritual nature of the human being has been naïvely masked by our level of understanding. It is time to discover the healing power available through human consciousness and quantum energy transformation in The Unity Field.

Off the Threshold of Logic

Okay, now, I realize that some of this talk is a little unorthodox, coming from a medical doctor. As a modern physician, I rely greatly on the principles and advances modern science has made possible. Yet, I have been required to learn not to be as limited by some of its shortcomings, as we will explore. Why, you may ask?

Well, I have had the blessing of many experiences in my life (some of which I will share in Chapter 2) that have shown me attributes of life beyond everyday awareness – and, certainly, beyond the capacity of understanding of our current science. I will explain how I was required to lift the veil of false logic that would have me accept only what is perceived with my common physical senses. So, just in case you have been wondering, I have not gone off my rocker. I have simply been exposed to events that created an evolving puzzle. As fate would have it, they were all part of a journey that has led me to the ability to share this work with you today.

Having worked most of my life in highly scientific domains, I’ve learned, appropriately, to depend on scientific scrutiny to inform intelligent analysis and action. Yet, like most open human beings, I have found logic both expansive and limited in its ability to help me truly understand life. I have seen love, grace, and heart-wise common sense solve problems that no amount of analysis or logic could alter. I have seen people heal in ways that science cannot explain.

As a scientist, I expose myself greatly in sharing this writing with you. We have all lived moments of great vulnerability in our lives – with both reticence and courage. To turn yourself inside out is an enduring exposure of vulnerability – and yet, that is what I must do, to share this story with you. Being vulnerable presents the opportunity for judgment, misunderstanding, and even ridicule. Yet, it also represents a fundamental opportunity to help another human being on their journey, as countless others have helped me. This makes it all worthwhile.

The time has come for this message to be shared, for it belongs to everyone with an open mind, and has many unique messengers. This book is but one, but, I believe, an important one. Why? It provides the missing panoramic perspective on healing – one of infinite value to people as they traverse the many detours on the healing path. It will also take us to the threshold of Unity Field Healing – a simple, new, and evolutionary healing paradigm, available now to share!

In the end, this book is based on a lifetime of personal experience, not founded in scientific rigor. It is based on heartfelt honesty, anecdotal experience, and testimony. It speaks of the power of our spirit to manifest in conscious ways, founded in the love that creates and renews our lives every day. At the end of this journey, I hope the story you will tell is about the wonder of your own spirit, and its power to heal from the experiences it will inspire within you.

Staying Sane

Understanding the framework from which this book is written, I will now attest, again, that logic has its obvious merit. It is wise to approach life with more than a modicum of common sense, and in a logical and discerning manner. Logic has saved me on more than one occasion when cast awhirl in sensory unknowingness or emotional upheaval. Yet, logic has its own limitations – and very small wings.

For those seeking scientific scrutiny, or simply a deeper understanding, there are many excellent books on the topics of energy and vibrational healing published today. They will complement this work nicely. Some include scientific analysis of new consciousness practices and others introduce brave new ideas. Books on quantum physics, quantum healing, vibrational medicine, meditation, and epigenetics – all of which are fundamental and essential to scientifically link the world of old with the world of tomorrow – are available. Some of my personal favorites will be referenced along the way and indexed to the bibliography.

Yet, it is also vitally important to understand that inspiration and experience often precede scientific validation. I believe this is the case with energy-based medicine. Science will come to prove some of the information shared in these pages – one day soon. This is an open invitation for science to more consciously explore the healing power of the human spirit.

The Magic Tapestry of Life

Finally, I believe our lives cross at nexus points – important moments when a gift or exchange is to take place between human beings. This has been true in my life over and over again. Perhaps this feels true today to you, as you read these words. When change is upon us, particularly large fundamental change, it can be uncomfortable. So, one of my greatest inspirations is to share comfort through knowledge and understanding.

Yet, trust nothing I say on merit. Filter it through your own experience. Accept what seems right, and discard the rest. No one should tell you what to believe. I have no interest in you believing me. I have interest only in you believing in your own spiritual power and the amazing potential contained within.

Personally, the wisdom others have shared has enriched my own experience with a deeper understanding. It is with heartfelt gratitude to those who have catalyzed my awakening, and in knowing the deep value of the magic of this sharing, that I pay it forward. I offer this book, from my head and my heart, to you.

What and Why Now?

A Wave of Consciousness Change

If we examine our personal fundamental beliefs about life, what we perceive as real or important is based on a short list of influences. Culture, family, social conditioning, genetics, and personal experience are an important few. Yet, as our experience grows, our personal beliefs may change. We grow and change. If you are reading this book, you are, ultimately, part of a great wave of consciousness that is sweeping through humanity at present – giving rise to a renaissance of human thought and reality. It is what draws you to this information, and makes us family.

The fact that you feel magnetized to this information is actually your own creation, when you understand how consciousness works. It may have arrived as a gift from a friend, an online discovery, or through a recommendation. In reality, we draw information into our lives to help us grow when the time is right, and when we are ready. This means it is YOUR time to expand in consciousness – or you would not be interested in the material.

Your personal awakening, however, is part of an even bigger event. You are at the forefront of a wave of consciousness. There are many elements of timing involved that can only be understood by looking at a much bigger picture. Let’s examine …

2012 and Beyond

The Current Opportunity

There is a huge shift in consciousness taking place on the planet – one described by many terms. The Ascension, The End Times, and The Great Shift are just a few names given. If you have not been consciously exposed to these concepts – you will need a brief introduction. For deeper discovery, I will also reference a few excellent sources of information on this topic.[5],[6],[9],[36]

The world as we know it is changing rapidly. There is great insecurity, and no short list of problems – the economy, world governments, health care, housing markets, and education, to name a few. Meanwhile, doomsday prophecies arise, with evocative fear.

However, simultaneously, technological innovations pop up daily, dictatorships are being slowly or rapidly eroded, the power and respect of women are rising, information transfer is accelerating, globally-based communities developing, scientific discoveries and discussions of quantum physics are everywhere. Pictures from outer space and other potentially inhabitable planets appear. The environmental movement pushes onward to raise the consciousness around sustainable resource management. There is also a tremendous growing interest in alternative healing paradigms.

It is clear that something very big is going on – and happening fast! It is a chaotic, polarized, transformative, and relatively uncertain time. The question, then, arises – why now?

This time is unprecedented. To understand the importance, we must look at this moment in history in an expanded way. By expanded, I mean really expanded – we must look to galactic time cycles!

As The World Turns …

Everything in our life operates in cycles. The sun rises and sets. We are born as infants, then grow as children. Childhood ends as we become teenagers, then adults. Summer fades to autumn, to winter, to spring. Rainy seasons come and go. Relationships begin and end. We are born, and we encounter death. Our whole life is composed of various interlacing cycles. What is inherent in cycles is that they represent the beginnings and endings of things. Every ending is essential to the birth of new events, and this creates a flow.

On a larger scale of time, there are decades, centuries, millennia, as well as scientifically defined time periods. Some cycles are based on planetary movements or changes within our solar system, such as a day, a lunar cycle, the seasons, and so forth. On an even larger scale, there are cycles of time based on planetary cycles, solar cycles, and galactic cycles. One of these larger cycles is a galactic cycle termed the precession of the equinoxes, which we will explore now.

Precession of the Equinoxes

The precession is based on an understanding of the Earth’s rotation in the solar system in an arc, offset from its central axis of spin. This offset creates a wobble in rotation, such that its alignment to the center of the galaxy is changing. The Earth passes one degree in the arc every 72 years. In a full circle, there are 360 degrees. Therefore, to travel all 360 degrees around the arc, the Earth requires 25,920 years. (Fig 1-1)

If you look at the orbit of the Earth during this approximately 26,000-year cycle of time, it will rotate through a changing alignment within the galaxy, thus changing in alignment with various stellar constellations. This creates what is known as the zodiac cycle – for those familiar with astrology. The zodiac defines 12 constellations to which the axis of the Earth falls in alignment during its cycle. Each of these 12 constellations will be defined by its observed presence at the eastern horizon on the spring equinox. The specific constellation to which the Earth is aligned will shift on each 30-degree segment through the wobble. Since it takes 72 years to shift one degree, this means that approximately every 2,160 years, a new constellation appears at the horizon. This 2,160-year period defines an age in the zodiac. In the current cycle, we have now entered the Age of Aquarius.

In this time scale, there is a period every 26,000 years when an observed alignment of the Earth returns to the galactic center and represents a full arc of the cycle. Enter the Mayan Calendar …

What has made this time, particularly the year 2012 and the date December 21, 2012, so intriguing – is that they mark the center point of this 26,000-year galactic alignment. According to the Mayan Calendar, it represents the end of a Cycle of time.

The Mayan Calendar is a complex system of calendars used for time-keeping in ancient Mesoamerica. It is comprised of both short and long calendar systems for accurate record-keeping of both everyday and large astrological events. Much has been written about it, but the reason it moves to the forefront of awareness is the fact that it describes the ending of a large galactic cycle at this recent point in time.

December 2012 not only represented the end of a cycle, it also represented the end of a predominant mode of consciousness. Simultaneously, it marked the birth of a new cycle of consciousness. In a small way, we can see the relevance of consciousness cycles if we look at history. Think, for example, of the renaissance period or other such periods in human history that define great shifts of human consciousness. However, this current time is monumental – for it is believed to mark the birth of a new cycle of civilization.

Mayan elders today say that this time point is the harbinger of transformation. The old time cycle was based on duality consciousness. The new one is based on unity consciousness. It is prophesied that in this civilization, people will learn to work together for the greater good and the uplifting of humanity. It is foretold that everything based on self-serving systems will begin to disintegrate, as humanity gives birth to this new world and new consciousness.

It is also believed that, in this process, people may align or resist – a struggle of old and new, light and dark – but the energy and consciousness are gradually moving in one direction. Hence, people can align with the consciousness of this new world and the gifts it will bring, or they may resist. Those who are courageous and align with the forward momentum will be greatly supported.

Importantly, the passage through this point in time cannot exclusively be defined by a single day. This date timestamps the passage – but it really marks a transitional period of time. When we are talking 26,000 years – a point in time is a larger window than one day. As we pass through this window, the energetic influences upon life change, and begin to strongly influence life on the planet in new ways. Outdated aspects of civilization will start to dissipate and progressively fall away – with each new generation. If you look at the world today, it is, perhaps, easy to imagine we are seeing the old world fall apart piece by piece. It is creating a fertile space for something new.

It is interesting to point out that not only the Mayans, but every major spiritual tradition and countless native prophecies have commented, for one reason or another, that this period in time is significant. The End Times, The Apocalypse, The Time of Revelation – are household phrases. All of these prophecies were based on the ideas of visionaries throughout history who could see forward to a time when potentials could be read as probable futures. Many of these prophecies described a time of great tribulation and destruction of humanity. But prophecies, for those who can accept them as significant, are not necessarily supposed to come true! They are meant to be a wake-up call to give humanity the opportunity to shift gears to achieve a different outcome. So, these prophecies have served their purpose! As these prophecies fade behind us, they will not materialize. We will begin to see that we are on the road to a brighter future. Enter, the harmonic convergence …

Harmonic Convergence

In addition to the date of December 21, 2012 – there exists another important date entitled the Harmonic Convergence. Many visionaries highlighted this as a crucial date in human history. This date was shown to have a most significant astrological alignment and meaning for humanity.

On August 24, 1987, there was an exceptional alignment of planets in the solar system. In Neil Michelsen’s The American Ephemeris,[37] the configuration is well-explained. It illustrates that eight planets were aligned in an unusual configuration called a grand trine. The Sun, Moon, and six planets formed part of the configuration. It produced an astrological configuration where these bodies aligned to form a pair of equilateral triangles, when viewed from the Earth.

Astrologists interpret the meaning of these alignments. Different astrologers have interpreted the significance of this in slightly different ways, but there is a theme in the interpretation. It represents a great shift in the Earth’s primary consciousness from a warlike competition to peaceful, cooperative co-creation.

According to José Argüelles, one well-known expert on the Mayan Calendar, the Harmonic Convergence began the final 25-year countdown to the end of the Mayan Long Count in 2012. This would be the so-called end of history and the beginning of a new cycle. Prophetically, in this new cycle, corruptions of the modern world – such as war, materialism, violence, oppression, and so forth – would fade with the birth of a new Sun on December 21, 2012.

Other visionaries have recognized that this exceptional time represents a choice point for humanity. This is clearly explained in information provided by Lee Carroll in a channeling session from Kryon, entitled Discovering Your Spirituality[13] on July 7, 2007:

In 1987, an event occurred that was unique in your history. It was called The Harmonic Convergence, and also later called the 11:11. What was unique was esoteric: The Earth had reached a vibratory rate of spiritual neutrality where the future could go either way. It could be pulled to a high level, a multidimensional level, or wallow in the old prophecies of doom and Armageddon. Out of your linear time, and hard for you to understand, all of the Higher-Selves involved in the system of Earth were polled. All the Human Beings that have ever been on the planet, are on the planet, and potentially will be on the planet, were asked this question: Do you want to go through with the old energy prophecy, the potentials of the old, or do you wish to move into the new energy that the ancients told you was coming? (Mayans and 2012) It is an energy that is not in your current prophecies, something that will create peace on Earth.

So, according to this information, this date marked a measuring point to determine the trajectory that humanity would take in the years ahead. Humanity has chosen the new energy potential.

The epic point of 2012 is now passed – and we are just over the threshold of this new time cycle. There was a very real possibility that the Earth would have proceeded through a mass destruction, as the prophecies would suggest – but we have consciously opted for a transformation, instead. So yes, way to go, humanity!

Now, this information is esoteric, I realize, but this is what created the possibility for the huge shift of consciousness which began to occur with the passing of the Harmonic Convergence. We are entering a new world, and it will be created through humanity and inspired human ingenuity. Over the course of the next few generations, we will experience life very differently than we have known it to be in the past.

This time represents the birth of a new kind of humanity – the New Human. We are being given knowledge, tools, and an unprecedented potential to grow and transform in a catalyzed way. This is evident in the rapid growth of consciousness of human beings. Perhaps this is most remarkably evident in the children born today. It is almost a household term today to hear of the Indigo Children.[11]

Now, one significant part of this transformation is an awakening – a spiritual awakening. Human beings are becoming increasingly conscious of both their inherent spiritual nature and energetic nature. This awakening is what delivers knowledge that is leading to an evolution of energy consciousness and its implications for human health and well-being. It is creating a biospiritual transformation.

Humanity is preparing to live in a new world, one that is consciously aware of energy and consciousness. We have been living in a paradigm of duality, separation, and ego-based survival. We are moving into a new multidimensional frame of unity consciousness. To achieve this transformation, we are being given information as well as gifts and tools. These tools will help us greatly in understanding the energetic aspect of our transformation. However, we also benefit greatly by learning the nature of what it means to live in this higher vibrational reality.

What kind of learning? This includes information about our spiritual and energetic nature, tools of the new energy, the critical role of holding balance in our energy, our nature as creative beings, the role of personal responsibility, and the value of peace consciousness. We are learning what life is like in the new energy – so that we may cross a bridge of consciousness.

As we frame this current period of time in history, with all of its potential significance, it becomes clear why we are being given new knowledge of energy healing and new tools of consciousness. These are key components to understanding our healing potential in the paradigm to come. In opening this way, we allow grace, spiritual power, and light to fill our lives. The side effect of this opening is healing – in all that this concept implies.

Many people have explained this process as a rewiring of our energy system. This rewiring occurs through a greater spiritual connection with our spiritual selves, through what we will explore as our spiritual DNA. This is termed the Ascension process. These concepts will take on greater meaning as we continue forward in our discussion. What is most important to grasp is simple – it is now available to YOU!

As mystical as this may sound – it is also a process that has been prepared by the teaching of the enlightened beings of all religions and spiritual cultures – throughout time. Christ, Buddha, and Muhammad all spoke of this world to come. As we move through this window of time, we may understand ourselves to be living through a renovation. We all know that renovations can be messy! On a personal level, our human energy field is being renovated to support life in a rising collective vibrational reality. It is a reality that is increasingly supportive of the attributes of a spiritually awakened consciousness. Yet, this can be confusing. It can also be alarming if it is not understood – and this explains why help is on the way!

Personal transformation aside, the whole planet is going through a similar rewiring! It, too, is shaking, shifting, blowing, raining, melting, and freezing, in a host of peculiar ways! But where is it heading?

Imagine a planet of greater and greater harmony and peace. Imagine a society where children are understood to be divine, unique creations of the one living Spirit that infuses breath into all living things. Imagine a land where people live with compassion and reverence toward all of life. A daydream, you may suggest – well, yes, indeed it is. Yet, all of creation is a dream – and we are capable of much greater possibilities than we have dared to dream. The next few generations of humanity will grow into this reality. Grace is upon us. We can open our hearts and minds to make this transition a little smoother.

Important Things To Understand in the New Paradigm

In this new paradigm, several core concepts illustrate elements of changing human consciousness, and how they relate to healing and personal transformation. Here are 13 important foundational ideas:

1. Consciousness of the human being as a holistic being

We are not only a physical body. We also are made up of emotions and thoughts, and an inner spiritual existence. Each of these levels of experience has an influence on the others, and on the development of healthy or disease states. The body, the emotions, and the mind must all be healthy and work in harmony. Health is a whole-being affair and the path to health or healing requires a multifaceted self-integration.

2. Awareness of the body’s innate capacity to heal

Healing is a process that is innate, natural, and can be supported. This idea, at first, seems obvious. However, this holistic perception is incompatible with the attitude of waging war on specific diseases – such as cancer. Disease can
