About this ebook
The Holy Quran mentions six fruits in Paradise, including; date, olive, fig, grape, banana and pomegranate. This book is the first of the series ‘Fruits mentioned in
Quran’. The series of books is intended to remind us all the bounties of Allah Almighty and to remain thankful to Him for His blessings on the mankind.
Date palm tree is mentioned 23 times in the Holy Quran. Many Hadiths exist revealing the significance of dates and date palm trees in our lives. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) highlighted the importance of dates and date palm trees on many occasions.
It is the manifestations of Allah Almighty’s Power and His praiseworthy attributes that He fashioned this earth in such a marvelous manner that countless species of
creatures live here and an endless variety of fruits and grains are grown on it. And it is due to His praiseworthy qualities that He not only created these creatures but also made arrangements for their sustenance and the supply of provisions for them far beyond their requirements. And the arrangements also so perfect that their food is not only nutritious but also pleasing to the taste and sight.
Creation of date palm trees and date palm fruits, the dates, are just one example of the excellence of Allah Almighty’s workmanship. Keeping this one example in view one may wonder what excellences of art have been devised and shown in the packing of bananas, pomegranates, oranges, coconuts and other fruits, and how each of the different kinds of the grains and pulses are produced finely packed and covered in ears and pods and clusters.
Allah Almighty has given mankind limitless bounties; plants and trees are one of them. With the progress in botanical sciences, fruits and vegetables are emerging
into more prominent roles in maintaining human health. Each has different combination of nutrients, its study may be extremely engaging for botanical scientists - for others botanical miracles present a fascinating world in itself.
