    DEDICATION

    I dedicate this book:

To The Lover of my soul, my forever friend and savior Jesus.

To 4 amazing women who God used to help teach me how to pray and develop true intimacy with God. I would not be who I am today if it wasn’t for you saying YES to Jesus:

    Lynne Hammond

    Dolores Woodson

    Lucy McKee

    Billye Brim

To every person who has uttered the words of the disciples in Luke 11 Lord, teach us to pray.

Also, to those who feel lost, unaware, or clueless of what it means to be in real relationship with God. May the journey begin and take you far beyond what you thought or could imagine.

    Scripture: Hebrews 2:9-13

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone. 10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. 11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, 12 saying: I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You. 13 And again: I will put My trust in Him. And again: Here am I and the children whom God has given Me."

The foundation for all prayer is REAL RELATIONSHIP with God.

Joseph, that sounds so easy!!! The truth is, it actually is that easy. Many people grow up having a misconception of what true prayer is. A lot of times, the explanation of prayer is over dramatized, amplified, or not clearly explained.

Prayer, in its simplicity, is conversation with God our Father. And the way you enter this conversation is through divine relationship with His son Jesus.

People often say Why do I need to know Jesus? Why do I need to be saved? The answer is found in John 14:16, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

We see in the first chapters of Genesis, God created mankind to be in His image and likeness for the purpose of relationship. God was the only Father that Adam and Eve knew; but we see in chapter 3 of Genesis, the devil came to persuade them in disobeying the voice of their Father and instead follow his instructions to eat from the fruit of the tree.

We immediately see that they obeyed the devil and it caused not only eternal separation from God, but eternal separation from being in relationship with him as Father. The good news is that when Jesus came to earth, He did so to restore us back into relationship with God as our Father.

In order for us to have effective communication with God as our Father we must first receive Jesus and what He has done for us. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. Jesus became sin for you and for me, paid the debt of sin that separated us from God our Father, and now made us to be in right relationship with Him again.

Personal Experience: I don’t remember the day I gave my life to Jesus but my Mother said that I came to her one day and just said I want to ask Jesus in my heart.

My Mom said it caught her by surprise, but she proceeded to lead me in my first conversation with God as my Father.

Activation: I would like the honor of being, just like my mom, the one to lead you into your first conversation with God. Romans 10:9-10 says if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation Just repeat after me and say Jesus, I ask that you come into my heart. Be my Lord and Savior. I give my life to You. God, I receive you now as my Father. Take my life and do something amazing. In Jesus name. Amen

Friend, you are now in relationship with God as your Father. This is indeed the true foundation of all prayer. In the following chapters, we will study what the scriptures have to say about growing in your relationship with God through prayer.

    DAY 2 - BE FILLED PT. 1

    Scripture: Luke 4:1-2

"1 Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, 2 beingtempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was
