    About the Author

    Chapter 1

The world is changing from bad to worse. The economy crashed in the spring, and now in the summer, half the city is unemployed and embedded in poverty. After the economy crashed, crime throughout the city escalated. Every day, someone was getting killed, robbed, attacked, or arrested. Last week, my wife died while riding the same train with criminals who were planning to keep everyone on the train as hostages. I almost saved everyone’s life, but I arrived there too late. When my wife called me, I was cooking dinner while our son and daughter were watching TV.

When I picked up the phone, I couldn’t hear her clearly because there was too much noise in the background. As I heard the sound of gunshots, my inner power to manipulate the forces of nature was released and activated.

Shanice, baby, are you alright? I panicked as I stood next to the hot stove in the kitchen. In a very faint voice, my wife replied. They are trying to kill us. They shot the train conductor because he didn’t get on the floor when they told him to move, she whispered, trying not to get caught.  I heard more gunshots and people screaming in the background.

I became the Black Magician.

Being the Black Magician is a duty passed down traditionally from generation to generation. My father passed it down to me to protect the innocents from any evil. I turned to check on my kids, but their eyes were still glued to the television screen, watching cartoons. I couldn’t leave them unsupervised, so I duplicated the cells in my body and cloned myself. My clone was lifeless at first, but then his eyes started to move, and his head turned to me. I stared into my clone eyes and then telepathically commanded it to finish cooking, make sure they eat the food, wash them, and tuck them in after. Do as I command, I stated. My clone nodded his head. I levitated off the ground and teleported.

My body broke down into subatomic particles, and I travelled through a micro wormhole folded in the fabric of space between my current location and the location of my telepathic link with Shanice. I could sense she was unconscious. It was as if I was floating in the water and being propelled through a strong water wave. Seconds later, I reappeared, standing in a crowded dark subway cart. There wasn’t a lot of noise, but I could feel and hear people all around me.

It appeared the electricity in the subway cart was out. I couldn’t see anything. It stayed that way until I energized the electrons around the palm of my hands. I increased the electrical pressure and
