H.C. Townes was born in 1974, in Eustis Florida. He spent his early years there before moving to South Carolina at the age of ten, where he now resides.He developed a taste for all things supernatural at a young age, and was inspired by classic tv shows such as Creature Feature, Alfred Hitchcok, Twilight Zone and Scooby Doo. Later, Vampires and Werewolves peeked his interest, and inspired his first novella, ‘Penance’, currently available on Amazon.H.C. began writing in middle school, dabbling first with poetry, and then broadened into story telling. His early works were kept private or shared only with his wife and friends. Under urging from a handful of his closest friends, he began to publish his works. He fell in love with the mystery and suspense of the classic twist, which is represented in his first three short stories, Quarry Kingdom, Lady of the Ashley, and Gnaw.

Night Terror
A fundamental flaw with modern medicine is its inability to accept there are things that science just can’t explain. Members of the medical profession have a reason for everything. Every cause has an effect, and every effect is caused by something rational, and there’s a pill to treat everything. That’s exactly what the doctors told Blake as well.
Blake was a fire fighter in a sleepy little town. As such, he was often one of the first people on scene in an emergency. It had been a quiet August night before the call came out. The excruciating sound of the alarm woke the team from their slumber, and in mere seconds, they were geared up, on the rig, and ready to go.
The sirens rang out into the still, once silent, and humid summer night. Within moments, every dog in the neighborhood joined in the mayhem, harmonizing with the melody of the sirens, leaving all those who neighbored the station wishing the town hadn’t built that particular station so closely to their homes. It never took long before the security of having these well-trained men and women right there, ready and able to jump into action, showed its downside. Throughout the week, it usually stayed calm, but party nights like Fridays and Saturdays, the little town came
