    1.  At 113 decibels the Golden Retriever comes in first place for having the loudest bark.  Get the ear plugs!

    2.  Golden Retrievers were bred first in Scotland during the middle 1800’s.  However they were poor in retrieving game from both land and water.  This was a critical flaw.  They were inbred with the Water Spaniel to rectify that problem; thus creating the Golden Retriever breed.

    3.  It wasn’t until 1911 that the Golden Retriever was officially recognize by the English Kennel Club, and not until 1925 that they were recognized by the American Kennel Club as a breed.

    4.  Golden Retrievers were introduced to North America in the 1920’s instantly becoming popular for their beauty and temperament.

    5.  Two famous United States Presidents that owned Golden Retrievers were President Gerald Ford and President Ronald Reagan.

    6.  The world record for holding the most tennis balls goes to a Golden Retriever named
