    INTRODUCTION

First, I would like to thank Gale Sanders for having the strength to push me to be better mentally and physically.

Without her believing in me, none of this would be possible.

Second, I hope ya’ll see the vision of the writings, despite not having experienced them for yourself.

    With that being said,

    ENJOY!

    Sincerely, Charles Summers

    Just look at my face,

My emotions are all over the place,

This pain is like a parent losing a child,

    A child losing their smile,

Gone too soon was the caption,

Wondering how you keep letting this happen...,

    I’m special,

God made me in his image,

But for some reason, I’m portrayed as a demon,

    Right or wrong,

They tryin’ to stop me from breathin’,

    At the round table,

In one of those back rooms plotting and scheming...,

Open wounds never heal because it’s infected scar tissue,

And this puppet on stage deflecting all the important issues,

In a world gifted with so much,

    Surrounded by lost souls,

Who froze with their hands up and still got filled with bullet holes...,

While giving uplifting sermons to the hopeless,

At a time when we really need to focus,

Conversation after conversation on top of conversation,

    I’m tired of having patience,

Sick of you telling me to wait and hold on, or just let it play out,

All the while there’s innocent blood being spilled out...,

    One funeral after another,

Today his sister, yesterday her brother,

    Casualties of unjust killings,

In a society where the police are the villains,

Partners in crime with the system,

Ya’ll need to stop, look, and listen,

Pay attention to this pain being written.

    A REFLECTION

As I take my last breath of polluted air,

I stepped into the courtroom with a look of despair,

As I’m waiting on my fate, I take a minute to meditate,

Was them penitentiary chances worth this walk I have to take,

Hell, yeah, it’s hard out here, don’t nobody wanna be seen foaming at the mouth,

See, the hunger pains in my stomach made it hard for me to see clear,

If I wouldn’t be of been sneezing, from the lint coming out of my pocket,

    I would’ve recognized his tail,

When I pulled it, cocked it, and told ‘em to drop it,

Got to be more careful, fuck it now,

    Can’t cry over spilled milk,

I was playing Russian roulette wit a loaded gun,

And I fell asleep at the wheel,

Now I’m looking for a deal, hoping the judge go for this spill,

It’s so many temptations growing up in Las Vegas,

That my adolescent years was filled with disappointment and many regrets,

This lead to the foolish decision,

    That has landed
