About this ebook

Reprogram your brain and fine-tune your approach to life—by unearthing the tools you already possess to build success from the inside out.

Some people are truly committed to doing whatever it takes to change the status quo. They read all they can, attend seminars, and watch videos every day, but to no avail. Anatomy of Success addresses this issue and provides insights on why some of us fail and what should be done to ensure success—on a permanent basis.

Part One of the book delves into understanding the mechanics of our brain and why we may, or may not, achieve what we want in life. Further, it’s about tapping into our true potential, and why and how every normal human being is fully equipped to reach any summit of success they may desire. Part Two is about the tools and the process needed to complete the journey, naturally and effortlessly.

Most of us use computer programs at minimum capacity simply because that’s all we know. Most of us use our brains in the same way. The goal of this book is to illustrate the real capacity and potency of our brains, then provide the essential tools, and the means, to achieve our dreams.

Anatomy of Success is unique in that it not only has a wealth of scientific evidence about how the brain achieves success, but also provides a simple process to clean up our bio-hard-drive, tune it up, then reprogram it for optimal success.

Anatomy of Success - Saleem Bidaoui

    Chapter 1

    You Are Born

    To Succeed

It is impossible to achieve success while your mind is set on failure –Saleem Bidaoui

Is Pleasure a means to an end or an end by itself? I’ve read numerous books that dealt with the concept of pleasure as an end rather than a means. Some books have a valid argument but maybe a shortsighted one. Nearly all of these books deal with the subject as if it is all we need to achieve in life. They ask questions like, Why do we want money?, for example. The answer is given that we do not need money for what it is but for what it can do for us and that is to make us happy. That’s absolutely fine! However, when we ask questions like, Is humanity only about becoming happy? Is that it…and then we die?

The answer to this question is there must be a deeper meaning and purpose to life beyond just being happy. For an erudite to think that life is merely about pleasure would give it little value. As it will be explained in this chapter, pleasure and pain are builtin mechanisms to help us maintain our survival. That is to say, pleasure and pain are means to a noble end we call Survival of the Human Race and we ought to examine it from this perspective.

Here is a provocative question: Are we bodies with brains or brains with bodies? A weird question, isn’t it? You might say, What difference does it make? Well, it does as you will find out soon! To properly and credibly answer this question, however, let me ask you another one. Genetically speaking, What is our ultimate goal on earth as a species? Have you ever thought of this question before? The answer to this question is Survival. Think about it. Survival is the only 24 hour job we have, and the job of survival is all we do in life. We eat, drink, seek shelter, get married, work, buy, sell, and even kill just to survive. Don’t we?

The key to understanding the roots of our behaviour and why we are deeply attracted to things such as money and sex is the following:

Whatever we do in life, we do it to survive. Survival is the main motivator behind all of our intentions, behaviour, and actions.

    Hardware Vs. Software

Survival is our instinctual goal and only game in life. That is, all of our intentions, motivation, behaviour, and actions stem from our will to survive. We are hardwired that way and we do not even have to think about it.

Using computer jargon though, our instinct is part of our biological Hardware which is highly sophisticated and we have no control over it, whatsoever. Our hardware includes our body, brain, heart, soul, intuition, and instinct. Said differently, our hardware is anything that we do not have any control over and no choice but to accept it As is. Trying to tamper with the instinctual part of our hardware, for instance, is as if we are trying to make a chick look for her mother’s breast once it hatches from the egg. It is never going to happen, right? The same is true with our hardware.

Our Software, on the other hand, is totally the opposite. It is under our control and we can program it and re-program it any way we want. Our biological software includes our thinking processes, perception, behaviour, mood, attitude, self-confidence, self-image, and so on. These are totally under our control and we do set them to achieve success…or failure. Yes, we do program them to fail on a regular basis if we want to and we do not have to look too far for the proof. We meet people who do this to themselves everyday.

But why am I telling you all of this? Simply because most people get mixed up between their fixed Hardware and their programmable Software. Yes, we can program and reprogram our software, but not the hardware that’s better known as our human nature. Our hardware is survival-ready. Without it, you wouldn’t have lived long enough to read this book. If so, then it is successready. Said differently, you cannot survive unless you succeed in doing so in every second of your life. Therefore, you are born to succeed and your initial failures are nothing but your training drills to teach you how to survive. This is extremely important for you to understand before you proceed and I urge you to go through it one more time if you’re still not sure about what the difference between the two are.

Success or failure in life, however, is largely a matter of programming your software. The irony is, almost all of those who fail and call themselves Total Failures blame their hardware for their fiasco. Blaming the hardware for our debacles is just like cursing the driver for taking us to a destination of our own choosing. Ridiculous, yet absolutely
