More Misadventures of Mistletoe Mouse
()
About this ebook
Celebrate another Christmas season with the lovable and hardworking Mistletoe Mouse. Two years ago, he befriended Molly Dolly, a doll who was left behind on Christmas Eve by Santa’s elves. The fearless duo joined forces last year, and with the help of an express reindeer, they worked to make terrible Christmases terrific.
Once again, in this delightful sequel, Mistletoe Mouse and Molly Dolly experience one adventure and misadventure after another. They help put out a forest fire, find a home for a homeless family, visit patients in the hospital, and teach a reluctant elf that there’s no place like school.
During a year that is not just terrible but also horrible and unbelievable, Santa teaches Mistletoe Mouse, Molly Dolly, Express, and the elves the real meaning of Christmas. More Misadventures of Mistletoe Mouse, like The Misadventures of Mistletoe Mouse, is for Pre-K through 4th Grade—and children of all ages.

Chapter One
It Was a Bright and Peaceful Day
When 2020 began, Molly Dolly and Mistletoe Mouse were looking forward to another year of making terrible Christmases terrific. It was just an ordinary day in January, just like every other January after the beginning of a noisy New Year. Trees and lights and decorations were down. Carols were no longer being played on every street corner or in every store. Musical instruments and uniforms and shoes that had marched in parades were put away until the next holiday or outgrown and given to another happy child.
The elves were busy flying all around the world and looking for the things they would need to make toys this year. They were sure that the warehouses would be full of paint, blocks of wood, nails and screws, plastic and glue, cloth and leather. There would be wheels, string, rods, and sheets of steel. It was their job to find everything early enough so no dolls like Molly Dolly would be left behind because they were not ready to go on Santa’s sleigh.
Molly Dolly had been so sad just a year ago. She cried an avalanche of snowflake tears before Mistletoe Mouse found her alone in Santa’s workshop and gave her the tender loving care she needed. As Mistletoe Mouse did all the things the elves did not have time to do, such as curl her hair, tie the bow on her dress, and get her silver shoes from the cobbler’s bench and help her put them on, Molly Dolly decided that she would work to make sure that no one ever had a terrible Christmas. Mistletoe Mouse wanted to help, so they started their business, Mistletoe and Molly, Christmas Consultants.
What will we do if we’re not needed this year to make terrible Christmases terrific?
Mistletoe Mouse asked Molly Dolly as they walked into Santa’s workshop.
Don’t let this beautiful day make you believe that we won’t be needed,
Molly Dolly said. Sometimes things are very quiet just before a storm.
Soon Santa would come to the workshop, sit at his desk, and make a list of the names of all of the boys and girls who had started writing letters the day after Christmas to tell him what they wanted this year. Santa would keep adding names to the list as letters arrived and checking to see if everyone had been naughty or nice.
Just as Molly Dolly and Mistletoe Mouse had straightened their desk and put a sheet of paper in their old typewriter, a group of elves came stomping into the workshop.
This is terrible,
Head Elf said.
Terrible and horrible,
added his assistant.
Terrible and horrible and unbelievable,
cried the other elves. Who is going to tell Santa?
Mistletoe Mouse and Molly Dolly could not believe their ears.
This sounds like a job for Mistletoe and Molly, Christmas Consultants,
she said.
No way,
said Head Elf. This is too big for you and us and Santa, too.
What could be that terrible?
Mistletoe Mouse whispered quietly to Molly Dolly. Nothing had been too hard for them to fix in the past.
When Santa walked into the workshop, all the elves looked at their shoes. No one wanted to tell Santa the bad news. No one even knew how to
