    Iwas the eldest of 8 children in a family that had an Irish background. Mom and Dad had come over from County Mayo in the west of Ireland.

    Dad initially came over to England to find work. He did eventually find a job as a maintenance worker at the Cadbury’s factory in Birmingham.
