INTRODUCTION
When you wrap newborn babies in a sheet, they sleep a lot more peacefully. It makes them feel like they’re being held lovingly. This feeling comes from having a protective cover around themselves.
Creating a layer of comfort and safety around yourself can do wonders for your mental wellbeing. Whether we’re talking about filtering out negative thoughts and ideas or building boundaries to protect yourself, self-protection can transform your personality. It is quite reassuring to know that you’re in a safe zone.
The concept of cocooning does not only require you to protect yourself from physical harm. It calls for a complete abandonment of activities that are harmful to your mental peace. Most of us would agree that this is best done by staying at home and avoiding to meet too many people.
When you say it so bluntly, the idea may appear somewhat unpleasant. It makes you feel like you’re being too rebellious or unreasonable. But the fact is, we’re all practicing cocooning in one way or the other without realizing it.
However, we’re unable to avail the complete benefits because we’re not totally familiar with the concept. Call it a lack of awareness or a reluctance to admit the reality, we’re not completely honest about our lifestyle choices. We tend to make excuses instead of making it known to people that we prefer to stay indoors.
Cocooning can be turned into a beautiful life experience that nourishes the mind and soul. There are no hard and fast rules and you can design a routine that suits you best. You may even suggest cocooning to somebody who is in dire need of stress relief.
As long as the ultimate purpose is achieved, i.e. you work on your happiness and contentment, it doesn’t matter what activities you choose for your indoor lifestyle. But it would be nice to have some guidance when you’re getting started. Hence, in the following text, we aim to provide all the necessary information that you may need to make your cocooning lifestyle more effective.
You may be aware that some animals hibernate during the winters. When the environment doesn’t suit them and they need to preserve their energy, they don’t leave their homes for the entire season. As human beings, we can definitely take a leaf out of their book.
Our reasons to seek isolation
