What would you wish for if you only had one wish?

I know some would wish for riches or to fall in love, some would wish for power and long life, others maybe to rule the world, while a few would wish to help mankind or for special powers.

It is a hard choice which isn’t easy when the rules that everyone is used to suddenly change, causing all known technology to stop working.

Chaos rules or so it seems at first but there are some groups who know all about the planetary shift and the change over from technology to magic.

Soon they are looking for the few who can fight back against their new magical powers and the only way to hide is not what most would think of...

A simple wish!

What would you wish for is you only had one wish?

I know some would wish for riches or to fall in love, some would wish for power and long life, others maybe to rule the world while a few would wish to help mankind or for special powers.  But while there have always been stories and tales of mystic dragon balls and Jennies in lamps capable of granting wishes, that is just what they are stories.

How do I know I here you ask well my name is Alexandria Thomson and I have spent the last twenty years of my life researching and looking into wish giving objects and the powers that wishes can possibly give, up to six months ago I had not found a single bit of evidence or proof that wish giving objects existed in the real world in all of my twenty odd years of searching until I can across a reference to what I have taken to calling the Stonehenge Pendant, this is my journey as it starts to gather pace.

Alexandria looked up from the report that she was reading thinking she had just heard a noise when the doorbell rang, with a sigh she got up and left the study and went along the hall before opening the front door, standing there was an average sized man wearing a parcel force uniform who then looked at his digital clipboard before asking are you professor Thomson?"

Yes she answered

I have a delivery for you if you would just sign here for it handing his digital clipboard over.

Once Alexandria had the box in her study she checked the postmark and saw that it had come from Norway and her adrenalin kicked in as it always did when she got her first look at some new paperwork or documents, the fact that she didn't know what was included in the box was of no concern as she knew that it contained miscellaneous documents from the dark ages of Great Briton, she had bought lots of documents from here and there over the years on the off chance that it might contain something of interest for herself to investigate.

Opening the box she lifted the packaging out carefully to get to the documents below before she carefully lifted the documents out and laid them on her desk, then she gently removed the remainder of the packaging and checked all of it to see if anything was laying loose in the packaging or the box and discovered a small metal spire, on picking it up Alexandria felt a slight tingle in her hand and the metal felt warm to the touch, intrigued she placed the Spire on the desk and started looking through the paperwork for any mention of the strange metal spire that she had found but could not find any references to it, what I did find though was a diagram and description of the Stonehenge Pendant.

This is the only known image of the Stonehenge Pendent before it faded into time and space, the tale of the Stonehenge Pendent is more folk lore than fact as what is known of it is that it was made by eight magicians with seven of them sacrificing themselves in a special ritual where they reportedly poured there Ki into the forging process while the eighth priest forged the pendent causing the image of the Stonehenge to rise from the base metal on one side while the other side of the pendent is kept smooth, why the priests sacrificed themselves or why the pendent itself was made may never be fully known but old English folk lore has it that once the pendent was properly forged, it gained the power to bestow one wish before vanishing into time and space.

There is a myth of the greedy kings who tried to be granted more than one wish only to have the pendent vanish without granting any wishes.

The wish power as it is known among the people in the dark ages is unknown, the last possible sighting that has been recorded is at the end of the dark ages where the age of reason and science started, the current location of the Stonehenge Pendent is not known at this present time.  Putting the document down, her eyes were drawn to the metal spire that was resting on the desk and saw that it had two small holes in the base and suddenly realised that she could attach a chain to the spire and wear it as a pendent, so picking it up she went to her vanity table in her bedroom and threaded a small chain trough the two small holes before hanging it around her neck.

A week later she was visiting her best friend Adrian Bromsgrove to celebrate her second birthday as she had done since she had begun her new life after her transition, from Peter Smith to Alexandria Thomson and as much as she wished that she could complete her journey so that she could have the finale part, a sex change operation, she couldn’t due to her own bodies medical condition.

A small glass was placed on the table in front of her as Adrian said Here you go Alex Happy 31st, what are you working on at the moment?

With a slight smile Alexandria picked the glass up and took a small sip and savoured the drink before replying Another perfect Bacardi and Coke Adrian it is perfectly balanced, you will be a great husband to someone one day

That may be Alex but they wouldn't be you with your charisma or your personality Adrian thought.

I have had a break though on my wish research Adrian that I thought you might like to see it if you get the red folder from my bag I will take you through it, once the folder was handed over Alexandria continued I found this document in a batch that I bought from Norway a couple of weeks ago and it arrived last week, as you can see not only does it show the image of the mystic Stonehenge Pendent but it also gives a bit of its history.

What language is it in Alex Adrian asked?

Luckily it's one that I am fluent in, its Anglo Saxon with a slight midland dialect in it but what it is basically saying is that the pendent was made of an unknown metal by eight magicians where seven of them sacrificed themselves is a ritual of some kind before it vanished into time and space, whatever that means

Maybe it's a time machine of some sort? Adrian said before he could stop himself.

Alexandria looked at Adrian with an amused expression on her face and said You think it’s a time machine?

Taking a breath Adrian said No, but maybe it means that after the wish is granted the pendent moves itself to a different time and location so that it needs finding again to grant another wish, talking of the pendent what are you going to call this so called unknown metal and are there any more samples of it laying around?

"Now that you mention it I suppose it should have a proper name rather than to keep referring to it as an unknown metal but what shall I call it? Alexandria mused.

Adrian replied Why don't you call it after what it is supposed to do, you know grant wishes?

Ok Adrian I will, the unknown metal is now known as wishblend! And as for any other samples I can only think of my spire pendent Alexandria said as she lifted the pendent from around her neck before passing it over to Adrian.

After looking at it for a while Adrian passed it back saying It has an unique feel to it Alex and that colour make up I haven't seen before not once in all of my construction projects that I have worked on, as you know Alex I don't have to work if I don't want to due to the inheritance and the wise investments that I did in my past, so what I would like to do is try to identify this metal if I can if you don't mind?

"I know Adrian and I am grateful for your support both financially and emotionally in my studies and I feverishly hope that one day I will find the real wish stone so that I can become complete Alexandria said.

So you know what you are going to wish for then Alex? Adrian asked.

With a thoughtful expression Alexandria said Yes I think I do as I have had a lot of time to think about it and I only hope that what I wish for will actually work.

But you are not going to tell me about it are you? Adrian asked.

No Adrian I really believe that if a wish is to have any proper power then it cannot be said until the time that the wish is made.

Adrian thought to himself I keep thinking about it and it doesn't get any easier no matter how long I wait, I know Alexandria's past including the fact that she is a transsexual who used to be called Peter but that doesn't affect the way I feel about her or the fact that I see her as Alex my best friend and hopefully my future bride.

Um Alex Adrian began I have something that I want to ask you, can you please come out onto the balcony with me?

Ok Adrian but just let me get a refill for my drink first, once on the balcony Adrian took a deep breath and asked Alexandria the question, Alex I know that we are the best of friends and I hope that our friendship continues for a long time to come but I would like to improve on that friendship by asking if you would marry me?

For a few moments a stunned Alexandria was frozen in shock before her mind caught up and she asked herself did Adrian just propose to me! He must know that I still have my thing down there between my legs and that I cannot have the sex change operation due to my medical condition, I will have to double check first before I decide one way or the other.

Now it was Alexandria's turn to be nervous Adrian, you do know about my past don't you I mean you remember that I was born a boy and that I am sterile and that I cannot have sex as a normal woman would?

Without a hesitation he replied Yes Alex I do remember your past but that doesn't affect the way I feel about you, as for sex and children that is of no concern of mine at the moment as children can be adopted if needs be and I am sure that I know ways to make you feel like a women and I would be willing to show you but only when you are ready

Can you give me some time to think this over as it is a big question and I need to sort some things out in my head before I can answer you?

Ok Alex why don't you stay the night in one of the spare rooms so you can test the house so to speak?

But Adrian I don't have any clothes here let alone any night clothes? Alexandria replied.

Don't you worry about that Alex as I have already bought a load of clothes for you on the off chance that you ever wanted to stay over some time?

Ok Adrian lead the way as I need some time to sort some things out Alexandria said and followed Adrian upstairs and along the second floor corridor stopping at the second door on the right.

Adrian opened the door before stepping into the room and said Here you go Alex the door on the right is the walk in wardrobe and the door on the left is the en-suite, I will leave you to get comfortable and see you in the morning if not before he then exited the room closing the door behind him and walked away down the corridor with his footfalls getting quieter and quieter until they disappeared.

With a lot on her mind Alexandria ran a bath adding some lavender and Rosemary bubble bath to sooth her mind and just soaked in the bath until the water started to get cold where she got and dried herself on a big soft fluffy towel, wrapping the towel around herself Alexandria walked across the room to the walk in wardrobe to see what type of night clothes might be there and selected a full length red night dress with matching dressing gown before going out onto the rooms balcony and resting in one of the easy chairs there.

Sometime later Alexandria was startled and quickly looked around before realising that it was dark and that she must have fallen asleep, sensing that it was getting cold Alexandria pulled the dressing gown tighter across her breasts and felt a warm spot just below her left hand.  Reaching out she realised that it was the spire pendent that she was still wearing so she lifted it out and laid it on her hands to warm them up when the moons glow fell across her hand striking the pendent and causing it to glow.  Looking at the pendent Alexandria saw that it was projecting something against her cupped hands so she took hold of the chain with her right hand and held the pendent over the other hand and watched in amazement at what she was seeing in front of her as the pendent shone three laser like lines down onto her hand and she took it as a sign and shouted. 

Adrian come quick and bring your camera and had to smile as she heard another shout and then some banging and someone ran into something in another part of the house.

A few minutes later there was a knock on the room’s door before it was opened and a worried Adrian came in asking Alex where are you?"

On the balcony Adrian you have to see this Alexandria shouted for the balcony.

Rushing out to the balcony Adrian found Alexandria resting in one of the easy chairs with a torch over one hand and it wasn't until he got closer and blocked the moons glow causing the light to vanish did he realise it was not a torch and quickly moved back to the doorway.

With Adrian no longer blocking the moon's glow he saw that the light was actually coming from Alexandria's spire pendent and that it was acting like a laser pointer and had displayed three lines on text on her hand.

He quickly took a picture of the hand and then being careful not to block the moon's light he bent for a closer look and realised that the three lines of text was in fact longitude and latitude locations and made a note of them before saying Ok Alex I have taken a photo and I have written those coordinates down so what say we go to the study and boot the computer up to see what is at those coordinates before he led the way towards the study.
