Foreword
Beliefs are a funny thing to get to grips with. We rule our lives and how we judge others by our beliefs. Interestingly when we change our beliefs it is as if the old beliefs never existed. At one time it was believed by people that the world was flat…and that if you went too far from land you would fall off the edge of the world.
Now you can laugh but they believed this so strongly that to announce otherwise was deemed tantamount to heresy and many were beheaded for questioning such a strong truth
. It was only when the like of Cooke and Magellan went around the world that this belief was ridiculed and disappeared.
I ask you not to ridicule those who are narrow minded and unable to suspend their beliefs to improve their world just concentrate on your own swing and results and smile knowingly within.
In the summer of 1995 I rolled up at my local course Bromsgrove GC, Worcs, UK and as I often did at the time I joined up with players who had already booked to play a round of golf. The two gents that I was joined up with on this particular day were Pete Williams and Beau Dallaway.
Pete subsequently became part of the green keeping staff at Bromsgrove and in the years that have followed we have played together a number of times and I class him as a friend.
Arriving at the 12th hole, a dog leg, left to right, protected at the turn of the fairway by three bunkers (one left and two on the right) we all hit our tee shots and proceeded to walk down the fairway…
Pete Williams is a talkative chap, I am sure he will agree, and as we walked he talked as he does every round that we play. A very descriptive talker it is easy to find yourself engrossed in what is being said.
On this particular day and on this particular hole Pete described how he and Beau had turned up the previous week and had been joined by John Bickerton (PGA professional)…when they had arrived at the 12th hole John had hit his tee shot into one of the right hand bunkers and Pete described how John had hit a majestic shot from the bunker to six feet from the pin. You know when the description of the distance, the shape of the shot, where it lands, how effortless the swing is, is so clear it is easy to imagine as if you are there.
Engrossed in his story I walked up to my ball, looked at the flag at the back of the green, assessed the club I would need to hit and hit my shot without any conscious thought given to the story just told.
Now like me you may have done this before and can and will in the future. The swing was as effortless as I had imagined the shot from John Bickerton to be…the ball soared through the air with what you might describe as a perfect flight, seemingly checking in the air then fading just towards the end down towards the green, before landing on the front of the green and we watched as the ball took one bounce rolled smoothly end on end 37 feet toward the back of the green and at a point some 5 feet from the pin (and you knew it would) turned on a gentle curve to the right… tracking for the hole…and as it entered the hole I was filled with a flashback not of my own shot but the one that I had imagined John Bickerton had hit the week before.
Now there are a limited number of people out there who might see this as coincidence however you also can suspend your beliefs (the world is after all round) and when you have read the words that follow, and reaped the rewards that realisation of your potential can bestow upon you, then make a judgement of how easily you can benefit from improving the way that you think and talk to yourself on the course.
The reason I tell you this story is not to glory in one particular of many excellent shots during these days but to demonstrate some of the content which you will learn subconsciously as you get more into this book.
In this book I hope you find the answers to why this happened because the secrets held within once embedded in your psyche will enable you to better release the potential that you are holding within.
Thanks to all of the amateurs and the professionals that I have worked with in the culmination not only of the hypnosis audios but also in the Chemical Edge Technology series of books and trainings.
If you want to improve the mechanics of your swing then go to a qualified PGA Professional.
I work with professionals, developing professionals, teaching pros and amateurs in many different sports fields and my specialty is enabling them to maximize their potential by training them to change states of mind whenever they need to focusing specifically on the many zone states that professional sports people call on when required.
If you want to train your mind then you are in the right place.
Introduction
Every golfer I meet and probably every golfer on the planet knows deep down that golf is a mental game as well as a physical game.
Every golfer I meet and probably every golfer on the planet knows deep down that their own golf would profit from more consistency and getting nearer the target more often.
Every golfer I meet and probably every golfer on the planet knows deep down that they have a greater potential for the game than they show on a weekly basis.
Every golfer I meet and probably every golfer on the planet knows deep down that until now there has been something missing in the way they play this game.
Many estimate that golf is between 80% and 95% mental and yet the majority of research and development money and the hard earned money invested by your regular golfer goes into the improvement of technology. What’s the reason for this? Purely and simply there is little money to be earned by the big corporations from improving your mental capacity to play the game and little incentive too.
In order to improve your mental ability to play the game more effectively more often all you need to do is train your mind to think in ways that help rather than hinder your game.
