The Forester: The Forester Chronicles Part One
()
About this ebook
This story tells of the heroism of the demanding General Discus, the intellectual Senthon, the clumsy Serinth, and the child-like Cornelius on their destined journey to defeat this creature. Only together could they use each other to defeat the Forester. In fact, only their journey could have saved Srinath altogether, not to mention the rest of the world. The only thing they all knew though, was that the Forester had to be defeated.

Prologue
In the land of Srinath, there is one natural landmark that everyone has knowledge of. What is this landmark? The Guardian Tree, the oldest tree in all of Srinath. This tree has been around since the first settlement in Srinath, and that was at least over one thousand years ago. Yet not much more than that is known about this tree, not even what type of tree it is, but we do know that magic does not affect it in any way. We know this because of a series of events caused by a man named the Forester.
Not much was known about this man before these events, but he was evil. He had more than once left his master to dabble in unknown events. He had, without his master knowing, killed many people. Yet all anybody else knew about him was that he was the apprentice of the highly skilled conjurer, Sphan Schwar of Stockington, the town that was built around the Guardian Tree. This town was rather small, but still very important. Spahn and his apprentice were known to go out and practice minor conjurations around the Guardian Tree, such as summonings of minor imps and young flirrs (small quick hairy creatures). Nobody in Stockington was bothered by these conjurations, although many were not aware of them.
These conjurations continued for two months. Until one night, after the apprentice had mastered all of the simple spells and summonings, he became very eager to learn more, in order to leave his good-hearted master, so he could destroy his enemies. He asked his master to teach him a new, more difficult spell. His master knew that he had mastered his spells, but he was still reluctant to teach him a new one. He said to his apprentice I’ll think about it, but until then, you can show me the mastery of your spells.
So the apprentice showed him his perfect skills in spellcraft. He was able to go through every fire spell, illumination, and summoning he had ever learned and he did it with no problems or errors. His master now knew he was ready for a more difficult spell.
His master then taught him the new spell’s pronunciation, but the apprentice needed to pronounce each word of the spell without error. The apprentice learned the new spell after several hours. It was a form-changing spell, a spell that changed the quality and material of an object. Many did not know this particular spell; it allowed the caster to turn the wanted object into a wooden object. The apprentice wanted to leave as soon as possible, but when he began to learn the power of the new spells he stayed to learn more.
The apprentice was a fast learner. He started off by trying it on small bugs. Once enchanted, they would start to radiate a green glow, but they would then die and turn into a small twig. The same was true when he tried it on his minor imps and flirrs, except they became larger twigs and sticks. The apprentice eventually came to master this spell, and was eager to use it on larger objects.
Without permission the dangerous apprentice attempted to use his spell on large trees.
When he tried the spell on a tree, all of the leaves on it instantly came off of the tree’s twigs. He tried it on all different types of trees and received the same result every time, but he was curious to see what would happened if he used it on the Guardian Tree. His master had already heard from one of his other apprentices that the evil apprentice had disobeyed him by using his new spell on trees. Yet Schwar knew he would disobey him anyway, so to stop him from doing so, he locked him in his study, and blocked the door. Little did the master know however, that the apprentice had a secret passage in his study chamber that allowed him to escape.
Under the darkness of night, the apprentice escaped the chamber while his master slept. He found his way to the Guardian Tree and readied his spell, as he would have done any other time. He spoke the words:
FloRusDeHiVilKolNur
The spell was instantly sent flying at the tree, except when the spell reached it, it simply bounced off of the tree and was sent hurtling through the air towards the apprentice. It then hit the apprentice and his body began to turn into a hard, glowing, green wood. Only one thing was unusual about this transformation: he had survived. And with that the Forester was born.
