About this ebook
Jazmin Acosta
Jazmin Y. Acosta is very passionate about her stories, so much so that she had decided to become an author from the impressionable age of 8 years old. Being a visual person, she also likes to express these stories in drawings as well. When it comes to writing stories, Jazmin enjoys to write about adventure stories more than any other genre. That’s because they seem to have a little bit of everything in it. She enjoys describing how the characters feel in certain situations and aims to have the readers ponder on how they might or might not deal with the same event. In the future, she will be working on different types of genres as well as her drawings and writing skills. Jazmin hopes to keep sharing her stories in as many ways as possible, maybe someday soon it will be a comic, video game, movies or maybe even tv shows!

Epilogue
Prologue
The world is divided into five sections of land; the desert, ice, wood, grass, and small islands. Except for the islands, each land is ruled by a king and queen. The Elemental Children, who are the most powerful humans on their world, are the ones who choose the kings of their land.
Along with the power of selecting a king, these children
are given many other powers, most of which remain a secret from anyone else. When these children choose the king, they are still protected and kept in the castle. This is in case the king dies and the Elemental Children have to choose another one.
In this present time, there is Lady Red, Lady Blue, Sir Yellow and Sirs Black and White. Their real names are secrets. Each have their own strength and weakness; though they are all evenly matched in power. Sir Yellow lives in the castle with grassy plains and mountains surrounding the kingdom. Lady Blue lives in both the north and south lands made completely of ice and water. She changes home every year.
Lady Red lives in a desert area where it gets hot and blistery. Sirs Black and White are twins and they live together in the land of woods between Lady Red and Sir Yellow where the weather is often comfortable during the night and day. The islands section of the world are not ruled by royalty or elemental children.
Because of this fact, people from those islands are looked down upon by most societies, except the royalty and elemental children themselves. The royalty only ever have to deal with the islanders when their people cause the islanders to fight back. The Elemental Children usually never involve themselves with the affairs of the world unless it involves natural disasters.
It was thought that nothing short of the most powerful disasters on earth or time itself could kill the Elemental Children. Lately, the unthinkable has become reality. Lady Blue was found the morning after her birthday party, next to her favorite fountain, drowned. Now the ice land is panicking and in need of a new Elemental Child. The Lady had an apprentice, but he disappeared the night she drowned. Some say he killed her, others say it was suicide or an accident. No one can be really sure.
In addition, Sir Yellow disappeared the same night, leaving behind a pool of his own blood. Just like Lady Blue, Sir Yellow held an apprentice under his wing who also went missing. Both of the kings were found slayed two months apart since the death of Lady Blue and disappearance of Sir Yellow. Which Elemental Child will disappear next?
One
Running… running… running. Go left, then right, upstairs and open the second door and pass the curtains. She is there, waiting to be taken. He has been studying this maze’s map a thousand times and timing everything including the distractions which were essential for a perfect escape.
That was the plan anyway, but he had never expected to find so many strong body guards on the two red bead rank level, tough. Well actually he did, it was common sense, but he didn’t think he had to fight so many off. Reason being, he made sure bombs were going off on the castle walls and there was commotion in the king’s ballroom, involving the king himself.
I hope Olem stays on target. He thought briefly as he left a hall of unconscious and beaten body guards behind. One of them had actually coughed blood onto his dark blue cloak before passing out. When he heard heavy footsteps up ahead, he prepared his four foot, bloody metal rod just as three more guards stood in between him and his prize. They took one look at him and froze in their tracks.
. . . But what are you doing here? Are you betraying us? Have you completely lost your mind?
They all said different things at the same time, along with feelings of betrayal and despair in their voices. Suddenly, one of the guards fell to the well polished floor and they realized too late that the thief had moved fast enough to be behind them.
. . . Without a doubt.
He whispered lifting his rod with fresh blood on it. The guards caught him grinning before seeing black. Instinctively, the thief brushed his hand through his hair, checking to make sure his bandage was still covering his right eye.
Every time he moved fast like that it would become loose. He passed through the wooden door decorated in gold and silver. My prize is as dangerous as a wild phoenix. Even after all that running and fighting, the beating of his heart seemed to get faster when before his eyes, he caught sight at the blazing red curtains.
He pushed the curtains away and could see a splendid room where there were fancy rugs, golden figures of all the animals with sharp teeth and talons. There was also the most beautiful red clay fountain, with the clearest water dripping from its beautiful designs of fire, in the middle of it all. Standing in front of the fountain was Lady Red. With her legendary red hair, her long silk dress and her golden dagger aiming for his throat.
You thought you could get me easy right?
She grinned, trying to press her blade closer to his skin. He had barely managed to block it when she had spun around to face him in a sudden quick movement, her blade making more of a conversation than she.
Of course not. I heard you could take down all your guards.
He breathed as he twisted away from her blade. It was no use, because she jumped toward him again and he had almost no time to block her attack. He shoved her off and then threw his rod toward her. She dodged easily. Clink. His light fingers had succeeded once again, as a new, but very powerful accessory had made it’s way onto her neck.
You think you can beat me like this? You’re a hundred years too early!
She yelled as she attacked again. He concentrated and at the last second he dodged, the blade grazed his throat.
You really intend to kill me…
He gasped but couldn’t help himself a grin. It’s been awhile since he felt so excited.
What did you think this was? Training?
She laughed as she prepared her blade again. Good, she still hasn’t noticed. The thief thought as he took out a small metal stick from his pocket. He pressed a button on it, springing it into a long rod. This way he didn’t miss a beat when she aimed for his chest.
She clearly had the advantage, but for some reason, she began to feel awkward. Her movements became sluggish and she began to sweat. ‘Why?’ She thought, ‘I don’t get this tired by something so simple!’ However her body started to do things she didn’t intend to do. The temperature around her rose and her flaming red hair seemed to catch on fire. In fact, it was on fire. She stopped fighting the thief.
The fire grew and grew until it was large enough to cover her entire body. She shouted, but not out of pain, but in confusion and tried to stop but was smothered by her own hair. She realized too late that she was about to use her most powerful technique.
The fire around her didn’t stop there as it kept growing until it took the shape of a giant red Phoenix. The thief smiled, it was about to end. In reality, if he had been attacked by this beast he wouldn’t last to see the next minute, but he was actually in control of himself and the situation. The beast seemed to want to attack but it turned into ash before it could do anything.
In a second all the ash and flames began to get sucked into a dark hole. The thief could see her figure again. She was lying face down on the floor, her hair had turned dark. Anyone could see the ashes getting sucked into a dark necklace with white pearls.
He had secretly put it on her when he threw his first rod at her as a distraction. The necklace had forced her to use her strongest powers in order to seal them. Thankfully, he had received it as a gift before facing her.
He leaned over her and brushed some of her dark hair away from her face. Yes, she is definitely out, and hopefully she stays this way until she can be s—. The thief heard voices shouting through the hall, followed by heavy footsteps and the sound of blades scraping metal. Now was the time to move quickly.
Lady Red! We are here to protect you!
The king’s guards yelled into an empty room. The only things moving were the silk red curtains blowing in the wind.
Outside the castle walls, the thief met up with his little companion, Olem. As soon as they saw each other, they began to run toward the outer city buildings. The kid had brown/red hair, which held sixteen turquoise beads, with light tanned skin, he was a fully trained warrior from one of the most famous warrior villages in the mountain lands and was only 14 years old.
In the thief’s opinion he looked at least two years younger because of his big golden eyes as well as his small 4 ft size. Olem’s dark green cloak and double white and black blades were covered in blood. From several other people no doubt.
Did you stay on target?
The thief asked raising an eyebrow.
I did what I was told and only that, Phesoj. What about you? Did you actually obtain Lady Red, as promised?
Olem asked. He began rubbing his hand over his cheek to try getting some blood off his face, only to smudge it instead. Lady Red was being carried on Phesoj’s arms, but he had made sure to cover her figure completely, using his own dark blue cloak.
In the flesh.
He whispered as he slightly uncovered and quickly covered her face again. She was being carried on his back, not as heavy as the objects he has had to train with, but not a light feather either way. Both kept running through the dark. The warm sand barely moved under their highly trained feet. One could say they were like ghosts.
No one knew where they were until they attacked and they left as fast as they came, leaving mass confusion behind them. Phesoj felt successful, he had gotten Lady Red and no one was going to find her for a while.

Olem was put in charge of watching the stolen Phoenix Child that same night. Phesoj
