    Mr. Carpet was in love with Miss. Le Mat. A frilly little thing that lay quietly just in front of the door. From his place in the centre of the room, he watched her longingly. Then he heard the door slam and a big pair of feet trod on Miss. Le Mat. She cried out in pain as her woollen fibres were crushed. Mr. Carpet winced at the thought of her being hurt and he was angry as he watched those huge feet tread on his little Miss. Le Mat. Every fibre of his body shouted out to this big footed human. Then he heard her sigh as the big feet moved away. Mr. Carpet's tassel's started waving as he tried to get closer to her, but he could not move. He wished very hard that he could walk.

    Suddenly, he magically started to move up off of the ground. He found himself floating in the air; his tassels became his legs. 'WHOOPEE... WHOOPEE... he shouted with joy then he saw more big feet come through the door and tread on poor little Miss. Le Mat. He cried as he watched her being hurt again. Then she was picked up and put
