Author Biography
D R Lon works as a small animal/exotic veterinarian in Newark, Delaware. His eight year old son, Orion, always loved books, imagination, and story telling. He pushed his father into creating a story that could be read nightly as it was written. The stories are now available for others to share. The Wither
W hat a crazy day.
How did all this happen?
Orion Keys was confused. He was also on his back after being knocked down by what appeared to be a living rock monster. He was breathing hard and could taste blood in his mouth from where he had bitten his tongue. He was trying hard not to cry.
He counted to 10 and made himself relax and tried to focus on what was going on. Across from him was, well let’s face it, a living beast made of rock. The large rock that sat at the end of his driveway had somehow transformed into a monster with a head full of teeth, and it had just smacked him down and now was coming in to finish him off. He was a goner. What to do. Just then, Orion’s dog, RJ, came running up to his side and started barking at the rock monster.
RJ no! Stay back
screamed Orion! Then suddenly he had a crazy idea. In the past, he had sometimes had some strange ideas, but this one was hands down crazy. Sometimes you just have to trust your instincts, so he went with it. He grabbed RJ and without thinking too much held him out toward the rock monster. Suddenly, RJ transformed into some type of sonic gun. One minute he was a Chinese Crested dog, the next minute he was a sophisticated gun that could produce supersonic sound waves. Trying not to think too much, he pulled the trigger. The gun produced a high pitch ultrasonic blast that turned the rock monster into pebbles and dust.
Yes!
He put the gun down and a moment later, RJ was running around him licking his face and wagging his tail.
Good boy
he told RJ. He got up and slapped the rock dust off his pants; how was he going to explain this mess. Well, that could wait. He took RJ into the house, gave him a rawhide bone and then got a lemonade for himself. He tried to remember the day and how it got to this point.
He remembered the crazy dream he had been having nightly for the last week. Always the same dream. In it, the pyrite ball he got last Christmas, instead of being just cool and sparkly, was alive. The ball called itself Moritz and said it was a thought ball, a creature, from another planet. The ball had made its way to earth to find a champion to help defeat an evil that was going to destroy the galaxy. Four balls were
